“For the Love of Haley” was a refreshing story and a terrific read. I fell in love with the hero, E.J. Sommers, a rich dude from Texas with a heart of gold who was tired of making money like the US Treasury. During a deal to divest himself of some of his holdings, he stumbles over a waitress with more than her share of debts and emotional problems who has to work waiting tables for a dictator of a boss to make a living for her and her daughter who she stole away from a self-obsessed husband.

E.J. doesn’t like kids. Never has. Never will. Sara has a daughter. Haley. Big obstacle.

Sara believes E.J. is just an employee of the company where she works as a waitress. E.J. doesn’t let on who or what he is hoping Sara Flynn, the waitress who he tries to rescue from a dining room disaster, will love him for himself. Big mistake. When she’s asked by the lady who runs her daughter’s day care to help with a fundraising event, little does Sara know it’s going to be held in one of E.J.’s mansions. Sparks fly when she finds out.

Over time, E.J. is coming to care for little Hayley and Hayley is coming to be attached to E.J. Sara, however, is another story. It takes her a while to warm to the new E.J., the richer than god E.J. Sara doesn’t know how to deal with him even though she’s extremely attracted. She knows she doesn't want to be lied to again or coddled. Somehow E.J. gets her to believe in him, in his love and in his affection for her daughter. Sara will have to learn to trust again before she can find the brass ring of love.

Emotional engrossing story that I highly recommend.

Sara Flynn is doing the best that she can for herself and her young daughter.
E. J. Sommers is a semi-famous business man that doesn't have his high school diploma, but he does have lots of savvy and smarts although not so much in the romance department.
So after E.J. witnesses an food spilling accident at a cafe in town where the young waitress, Sara is getting yelled at for her big mistake and he intervenes in her favor that the ball gets rolling in this cute contemporary romance.
Sara is majorly messed up from her last marriage. I am really glad that she got divorced and was cognizant of her feelings or lack of them of her good-for-nothing ex-husband Paul.
This is a sweet slow building romance with one sexy scene.

I loved the book! The only thing I wasn't soo happy about was the ending. It just cut off with a cliff hanger. It would have been 5 stars if there was an epilogue! I loved it otherwise!
