Spending Christmas in a stranger’s tiny home isn’t what Scarlett wants, but it might be just what she needs.
Scarlett
I travel alone. I eat alone. I sleep alone. I celebrate Christmas alone.
Being snowed in at a campground is my idea of heaven. I have an electric heater, lots of blankets, and plenty of food to keep me warm. A little subzero windchill won’t stop me from enjoying my holiday.
Unless the power goes out.
Nick
People are like ants, moving soil, carving out roads, building endlessly, upsetting the balance. I don’t like ants.
Any chance I get to be alone, I take it. Being snowed in at Jolly Days Campground on Christmas? No problem.
Except there is a problem. She’s in that Ford Transit van over there and if the power goes out, she’ll freeze to death.
So, of course, the power goes out.
And my tiny home just got way too crowded.
Tiny Home for Christmas is a forced-proximity, enemies-to-lovers, close-door romance about two cold hearts that slowly warm up to love.
Erin Lucy is partial to beaches and corn fields. She loves small towns, quaint cities, and places that feel cozy. Her social media of choice is Instagram. She’s also on Facebook, or you can stop by her website to see what she’s up to.
She has a day job, three kids, a husband, and some pets. If she’s not writing, she might be reading, going to church, going to the gym, or drinking way too much boba tea.
Long ago she received an English degree with Honors from a college in the Midwest.
She's spent the last four years living in her transit van turned tiny home escaping from the emotional and mental abuse of her parents and failing to trust anyone else because of that abuse. He's spent the last few years living in his tiny home and enjoying solitude after finally escaping a toxic relationship. Neither trusts other people and both are accustomed to their solitude with their trusty pups by their side, but during a freak winter storm they get snowed in at a campground that they both took refuge in to weather the storm and end up having to weather the storm together. However, as they grudgingly deal with each other and slowly start to get to know each other, they find that maybe they weren't as happy in solitude as they thought. This story is an amazingly realistic look at the damage an abusive parent can be as well as the struggle to overcome the self-doubt that the abuse instills in you. The book is extremely well written and the plot is outstanding with some hard-hitting issues, while remaining a cute Christmas romance that will entertain both those looking for a holiday happy ending and those who desire that their stories have more protein to them! I am really looking forward to more books by this author as she is definitely going on my "must explore more" list! FYI: you will need tissues for a few scenes in the book, but will laugh out loud at other times!
Tiny Home for Christmas is a forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, close-door romance about two cold hearts that slowly warm up to love.
A heartwarming holiday tale about two introverted individuals who prefer spending Christmas alone rather than with their families. However, an unexpected superstorm hits, leaving Scarlett with no power in her living van. She has no other option but to move into Nick's tiny house to avoid freezing to death. The story explores the dynamics of relationships, presents amusing scenarios, and introduces relatable characters dealing with their own struggles. The loving dogs add an extra touch of warmth to this closed-door romance delightful story.

After 4 years estranged, Scarlett is headed to Florida for Christmas with her family - either to reunite or get closure. A freak superstorm sees her holed up in a small out of the way caravan park, waiting out the storm in her Ford Transit van. Meanwhile, Nick, also heading home to Florida for the holidays, pulls his tiny house into the caravan park to weather storm. When Scarlett's heater dies, she is forced to seek shelter in Nick's tiny house - despite them being complete strangers.
And so begins a getting-to-know you scenario as vegan Scarlett and her dog Tater negotiate the temporary living situation with Nick and his dog Hazel. Scarlett is guarded (understandable, in a strange man's home!) and prickly; Nick antagonises and provokes... until after an unfortunate event with a Taser they fall into a slightly less awkward rhythm that develops into friendship - or something more? But each have issues from their pasts, and neither are willing to open up to the other fully.
Overall, this was a fun holiday romance - relatable characters with baggage, snowstorms, cosy houses (I want Nick's tiny home!) and the magic of the season. We have crafts and social media and the stubbornness of less-than-clever pugs. There are also some deeper, darker undercurrents that explain why the characters are the way they are. Zero spice in this - it's all about the relationships first and foremost... with juuust a hint of romance peeking in. A fun read; I zoomed through this in a day

Thank you to NetGalley, New Fable Press, and Erin Lucy for allowing me to review this ARC!
This was such a sweet Christmas story revolving around the two main characters, Nick and Scarlett, who are both self described lone travelers. They enjoy being alone, picking up and traveling the country in their respective vehicles/homes with their dogs. When they stumble into a snow storm in Georgia they both find themselves parked next to each other at a campground. Scarlett's heat can't keep up with the weather and so she takes Nick up on his invite to stay warm in his tiny house. Days pass and while it began as an awkward situation they begin to get along and feelings develop. They both end up going their separate ways but soon find themselves meeting back up after Scarlett finds out upsetting news.
This book was cute with a Christmas vibe. No spice at all but sweet nonetheless. I wish there was a little more connection between the two main characters during their time together but it was an easy read for those that enjoy a quick, feel good romance.
Thank you @erinlucy for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
My thoughts: I have to say I loved this endearing and heartfelt story so much! I started reading it and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. The main characters are Scarlett and Nick. They enjoy being “loners” which has them traveling all over…..alone. Scarlett travels in her Ford Transit van while Nick has built himself a tiny home he travels with. When they are both caught in a snow storm and end up in the same RV Park, things change for both of them. You need to read the story to find out what all went on with them. I loved the characters I loved the dogs I loved the story I loved the vegetarian/carnivore humor. All in all, Tiny Home for Christmas was a clean, heartwarming holiday romance I highly recommend. I do wish there had been more development in Scarlett’s and Nicks’s relationship. The ending was lovely but, I wanted a prologue to tell me more. I’m a sucker for a prologue to round out a story :) #shortbookthyme @shortbookthyme
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book! I really enjoyed reading this book aside from some cringe moments from the female main character. In my opinion as a vegetarian, how that was depicted in the book was very stereotypical and not that accurate. That aside it was a really cute and cozy Christmas read.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Erin Lucy for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This was definitely a fun holiday read that I was able to devour in one sitting. The pacing in the book was lovely and had me easily flipping to the next page to get more of Nick and Scarlett's story. I did find the ending to be a bit abrupt and slightly lack luster, but hopefully, we will get to see more of these characters in upcoming books.
I will admit I disliked the character of Scarlett for a good chunk of this book, but once her backstory was explained, I found myself eating my words and shedding tears for the pain she had suffered. Nick, on the other hand, was loveable throughout the entirety of the book. Your typical sweet sexy guy next door, who is exactly what the FMC doesn't realize, is exactly what she needs.
Overall, the book was a sweet (not spicy) success for me and hit all my holiday feel-good spots... I would love to see this story in the form of a Hallmark movie.
I liked the beginning of the book. The section between the beginning and middle bored me, but once I made it to the halfway mark, I really liked the story. The section I didn't enjoy was repetitive and mundane and felt Scarlett's attitude toward Nick was ungrateful. I get they were strangers stranded in the woods together, so a sense of wariness is warranted, I just did not enjoy the execution of that. However, the shift in mood and acceptance made the story move forward, and I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book.
There are moments of heaviness intertwined, and once we really get the full extent of why Scarlett and Nick are the way they are and what brought them on the road, the story becomes that much better.

Book Review: Tiny Home For Christmas by Erin Lucy Published 6 Dec 2023, New Fable Press
Synopsis: Spending Christmas in a stranger’s tiny home isn’t what Scarlett wants, but it might be just what she needs. Nick is pulling his tiny home to a new location when the snow hits. He's not a people person: Any chance to be alone, I take it. Being snowed in at Jolly Days Campground on Christmas? No problem. Review: Loners Scarlett and Nick are intelligently written to be expressive deep thinkers, thrown together in a far from ideal situation. A frosty start between the two is wonderfully described with truly humorous moments, and as things begin to thaw, the most heartfelt tale emerges. This is such an easy, cozy festive read, perfect for snuggling up on the sofa with, hot chocolate in hand. Ideal for chick lit lovers and romance fans, this is bound to bring out the Christmas spirit in even the coldest of hearts. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *I received an eARC from the publisher via Netgalley. Sometimes you read a book and you don’t really know how to review it. This was a book like that. I always find it hard to review such a book without giving spoilers, but I will try.
Scarlett and Nick are forced to stay together to survive a heavy storm. I'm not sure about the enemies to lovers, I would say strangers to lovers (not that it really matters). The storyline was well thought out and made this a sweet, clean (no spice) holiday Romance. I didn't really like Scarlett till I understood her backstory and could relate to her. The backstory of Scarlett could have been brought in earlier or in more drops throughout the story as the reader would probably relate and liked her more from the beginning (in my humble opinion). I liked Nick from the start. It was nice to learn more about them and see their development. I had some good laughs and moments that were emotional (TW parental abuse, pregnancy loss). The world-building was nicely done and I loved the landscape that was described. There were some repetitive moments and because I didn't like Scarlett, some parts were hard to get through. That said, I am glad I finished the book and overall it was a very cute read. 3.5 stars rounded up
This was definitely a fun and quick holiday read that I was able to devour in one sitting. The pacing in the book was lovely and had me easily flipping to the next page to get more of characters of Nick and Scarlett's story. It is emotional but also comforting in good ways.
I wasn't sure about the character Scarlett at the beginning of this book, but once her backstory was explained, it will be nice if it had mentioned in beginning to understand Scarlett little better. Nick, on the other hand, was loveable throughout the entirety of the book. Your typical sweet sexy guy next door, who is exactly what the FMC doesn't realize, is exactly what she needs.
Overall, the book was a sweet and clean romantic book success for me and hit all my holiday feel-good spots. The loving dogs add an extra touch of warmth to this closed-door romance delightful story.

Scarlett and her dog Tater have to ride out a bomb cyclone in Georgia in her live-in-van just before Christmas. She finds Jolly Days campground, checks in, and plugs in. Nick and his dog Hazel also have to stop and ride out the storm. Although weather prepared, Scarlett finds herself in trouble when the electricity goes out and her heater busts. Her only option is to risk staying with the possible serial killer across the way who has a tiny house and a built in wood stove.
Scarlett and Nick are stuck together trying to get through the storm. They find that even though their lives, history, and eating habit are different- connection is connection.
A sweet holiday romance that will make you want to rent a tiny house in a snowstorm… Winter Storm Dillon making love connections all over the place @erin_lucy_author !
At first I didn’t really like Scarlett took me a while to warm up to her but I adored Nick he was such a sweet man. I loved the dogs I’m such a dog lover. I loved the uniqueness it was different from your unusual Christmas love story. I think their relationship was real too it wasn’t rushed Scarlett was unsure of Nick and didn’t fall In love at first sight. Nick’s family and Scarlet’s sister I need to know more!! Please say they are getting their own books Overall a lovely Christmas time story with a crazy setting great Characters and a sweet love story 2 adorable dogs and a happy family with a little drama. A nice easy read I snuggled up with my own dogs and read it in one sitting. Would definitely recommend prefect Christmas read Thankyou NetGallery for the ARC
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book! This was a unique, memorable read that I overall enjoyed. I struggled through most of the book with liking one of the main characters, Scarlett. There were moments where the book was challenging to continue because of her. But once her backstory was explained, I could better understand her. I really loved to see how her character developed throughout the book, and loved the ending that she got with meeting Nicks sweet family and rebuilding relationships within her own! This was a sweet Christmas story that was unlike any other I have read.
I love a cute Christmas story and this is a cute Christmas story. A fun easy read that gives you that warm Christmas feeling. It’s forced proximity, thanks to Mother Nature. Two opposite minded individuals who butt heads. They have snappy comments to each other with witty comebacks, and who doesn’t enjoy fun banter! Nick and Scarlett also each have adorable dogs who are important characters. They both have siblings who tease and taunt! I was skeptical if I would enjoy this book because I don’t really get the tiny house thing. But, it had the opposite effect. The descriptions in the book helped me see why someone would enjoy tiny house living. If you are looking for some laughs and warm Christmas fun this is a book you should read!
A fun holiday encounter! I loved seeing a more in-depth view of living in a Tiny Home and Transit Van. Such clever ideas and creative solutions, I found myself going down a rabbit hole on YT, lol.
Scarlett and Nick are both extremely different, but being stranded in the storm brings them together, even if reluctantly. They both have a pup as a best friend, and I love their interactions, whether hostile or friendly.
The story shows how you can't judge someone by their appearance, and there's always more to someone if you take the time to know them. This was a delightful enemies to more romance for the holidays!
Thank you to Victory Editing and Erin Lucy for a gifted ARC of A Tiny Home for Christmas. A “Snowhere to Go” Romance.
Nick and Scarlett find themselves at a campground unexpectedly. Unfortunately, a huge storm has shut down interstates and has them trapped. The Jolly Days Campground is where she will spend Christmas. This is a very sweet story of surving loss, parental trauma and finding out what really matters in life. I actually really loved this book because it wasn’t your typical Christmas Romance book. It was a little deeper and fun. I really enjoyed it and I hope to read more by this author. It was a nice clean and sweet read.
For a book set mainly in one small space, the narrative was consistently entertaining and I didn’t want to put it down. At first, Scarlett is difficult to warm to, but this is explained later. If I’m honest, I would have liked a teensy bit of spice at the end (there is no spice) but the romance felt real and organic.
This will appeal to you if you enjoy: Forced proximity Enemies to lovers Snowed in Dual POV A cosy read, for the most part.
TW: Pregnancy loss Parental emotional abuse
Thank you to NetGalley and Erin Lucy for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
This was a fun holiday read. It has relatable characters with baggage so it's definitely relatable to a lot of people. I found this book to have good pacing and flew through it. If you love a good Hallmark movie you will want to read this book. I would recommend this book for the holidays.
Thank you NetGalley and New Fable Press for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest opinion.
This way a fun book to read. It is emotional but also comforting. It is about 2 people who don't know anything about each other are caught in a blizzard stuck in a campground. They live together in a warm tiny home and figure out that they can't live without each other. If you want to read a great Christmas story then read Tiny Home for Christmas. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Tiny Home for Christmas is a fun read. I dream of my own tiny home some day, soon, which drew me to this story in the first place. Add in a couple dogs, and I'm definitely hooked. This story is descriptive. You'll feel as if you're in the blizzard with the characters. If you enjoy a fun rom-com, be sure to add this one to your winter to be read stack.
Brilliant book, fun, sweet, snow packed, a journey of rediscovery and invention. It was surprising refreshing and not too schmaltzy. I found it very festive and just a great book to snuggle down to whilst the wind was howling outside. Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you, New Fable Press, Erin Lucy, and Netgalley for an arc of this book. I liked the story, it was cute. The mc's had a complicated backstory that I felt needed to be explored more. There was a lot going on and sometimes it seemed to drag on. No spice, which maybe was a determining factor for a lower star rating. However, there weren't a lot of "aww, my heart" moments either. 3.5/5
In this sweet story we meet two introverts who want to be alone but must come together when a terrible storm forces to survive or freeze, Scarlotte and Nick are both too damaged from the past to trust again. However, this cozy atmosphere soon warms their hearts and they find themselves reluctant to stay apart.
I could not finish the book; could not read past where the main character, Scarlett, calls eggs “bird babies”. I found Scarlett’s character very annoying; Nick, owner of the tiny home, was a more interesting and appealing character.
