Good range of calming activities to counteractive constant high stress

I was worried about the many health conditions are associated with constant, long-term stress, so I looked for a way to calm down and let go of stress on a regular basis. This book helped me understand how to recognize the signals of really bad stress, and then how to discharge it to get back to a better level so it doesn’t constantly build up. It recommends creating a sanctuary of sorts by creating a calming personal space to help you relax just by being there. The book covers many techniques to actively cultivate calm, from aromatherapy to outdoor exploration to exercise to socializing and more, as well as ideas for integrating your activity of choice into daily life to reset yourself down to a reasonable level. I found many of them very helpful myself, and I think anyone who is looking for options to manage stress levels on an ongoing basis will find this book useful.

What I loved most is how compact and accessible the book is. You can finish it in one sitting, but its lessons linger far beyond the last page. It reminds you that even small actions—like mindful breathing, movement, or creativity—can have a profound impact on your well-being.

Personally, I found that leaning into my creative side helped the most. Drawing, animating, and writing poetry became unexpected outlets of calm for me. While yoga also had benefits, short naps weren’t as effective in my case—which just shows how personalized stress relief can be. Thankfully, this book acknowledges that and encourages readers to discover what works best for them.

The author, Christina Concord, approaches this topic in a very open-minded way, stating that everyone is unique and what works for one won’t necessarily work for another.
Beyond just listing techniques, methods are offered to try various calming techniques, find what might work for you, then work on making those into habits, while also recommending switching things up, and tweaking things, to keep it interesting and easier to make calmness, health, and well-being more of a part of your daily life.

Simplicity to Combat Stress
This is a very well-structured book that presents ideas that, while familiar, are arranged in a coherent way, making the reading experience enjoyable.
Most of the concepts outlined are highly applicable in our daily lives.
Christina Concord emphasizes the importance of incorporating self-care so that "bad stress" doesn’t overwhelm us.
I really appreciated the simplicity with which she encourages us to engage in activities such as spending time outdoors, listening to music, reading a book, engaging in problem-solving, writing down our thoughts, taking short naps, fostering social connections—meeting new people—, laughing daily, engaging in physical activities, gardening, practicing gratitude, and more.
I highly recommend reading this book.

great techniques

The main theme I felt throughout this book is to honestly, SLOW DOWN! We are all super busy and being too busy creates stress. most of the techniques and activities in this book encourage you to slow down and be present in the moment. Weather its doing yoga, practicing mindfulness, journaling or doing a daily routine… It forces us to slow down and be intentional with our bodies. I liked it. Plus it’s a shorter read which again is nice for busy people.

Good Short Read

This book can easily be read in a day. It has a lot of useful information about relieving stress. At least one was new to me.

The author writes in a comfortable easy to read and understand manner. If you feel stressed, you can start doing these easy techniques right away.

great straightforward guide

I really like this book because it is a straightforward guide to taking control of stress without adding to it, it’s an easy, quick read. I found it practical and not overwhelming at all. Great pocket guide to understanding importance of releasing stress

I appreciated the different techniques elaborated in the guide to reducing stress easily. Everyday activities can become stress releasors like napping and cooking and gardening. Great book and awesome information!!! Thank you!!

Written From the heart

I started a challenge with a friend to read 6 books each in three days and share insights afterwards, this was my first pick, and it was an incredible choice. I didn't feel i was reading at all, it felt like a conversation with a friend, very calming in itself even before implementing any of the mentioned techniques. Thank you, definitely recommended.

This book offers great tips on realeasing stress with simple methods. What I liked most about the book is the author offering her own methods interchangeably with other techniques to encourage you to apply what works best for you without pressuring yourself to do something that you don’t feel like it.

What an Exellent book on a needed topic

Such a Resourceful Book

This book is great. It has so much more than I expected. The mindfulness parts are so helpful. I used to think I was doing calming techniques but I found out that I was wrong. The calming techniques that I was taught were so much more resourceful. I am happy I found this.

Full of great ideas and pleasant to read!

Mastering Calm is a good book to read if you you want to slow down and get into the moment. Practical Tips & Shared Story

I enjoyed the practical advice alongside the authors engaging story which makes this book unique sharing experiences as I feel like I had a good conversation with the author to even look forward to my first day spa experience with my wife. This book did not feel simple as real experiences are threaded throughout.

Excellent book for anxious people

What I like most about the book is that you do not need to do any extraordinary things to achieve calm and enjoy your life. It is just the minimal adjustments that make the biggest difference, and this book teaches you how to incorporate them.
