Hope burns brightest in the darkest hour.

Laran, Jamie, and Ronan have stopped the Sunslayers and the traitors in their midst, but they can't hold back the invading armies forever. For all their newfound strength, they are nothing against the darkness that threatens their lands.

When the Sunslayers launch a devastating attack on their position, the weary survivors are forced to flee in separate directions. Laran and Jamie race to protect Lindra while Ronan returns with his new family to Gutan. They're chased by shadowy forces, stronger and smarter than any they've faced before.

Though humanity teeters on the brink of extinction, they refuse to surrender their last hope. Their quest to save the duchies will force them to confront their darkest fears. They're prepared to sacrifice body and spirit to save what they love, and victory may require nothing less.

Terrible, boring, repetitive, and disjointed

I am 60% through this book and I am having a hard time finishing it. It's so boring, and constantly repeats how the character is thinking. Suddenly Laran can't tract or read the woods, or anticipate how creatures are going to react like he could in the previous 2 books. Ronan is a basket case because of what happened in the last book. The world is doomed and only a few people care. Will update more if I finish this trashy book.

Nice

I really enjoyed this book, actually enjoyed the whole series. There were quite a few errors like mis-naming people and grammar errors but it was still readable and a fun read.
