Blue Moon #2

Fall into Temptation

Rate this book
Beckett Pierce is the most eligible bachelor in the nosiest small town in upstate New York. But after his last girlfriend handcuffed herself to his porch and set his welcome mat on fire, he's not looking for any more romance.

Even if it lands right in his backyard, and has miles of red hair.

Gianna Decker has her hands full--no, overflowing--with problems. With two kids, a useless ex, and a brand new yoga studio, the last thing on her mind is finding a man who'll cause her more problems.

Dating her broody landlord? Yeah, that would be a problem. Dating the sexy mayor of the town she just moved to? Definitely a problem. Dating the “favorite” son of her father's new lady friend? It seems like Beckett is a bad idea just waiting to happen.
But he's a bad idea she can’t seem to resist.

As Beckett and Gianna find themselves thrown together again and again, they can't help but fall into the temptation of sizzling stolen kisses, of a desire so hot it brands. And soon they're much, much closer than they ever wanted. Tempers flair when their families complicate things and the interfering citizens of Blue Moon Bend step in with their special brand of chaos.

Can Beckett and Gianna manage to disentangle themselves before it’s too late?

Or is the temptation too much for either of them to deny?

No. Just no. 🙂‍↔️

I really wanted to like this book, but it just wasn’t it. I couldn’t get past the fact that they are step brother and sister. Like what??? It’s too weird for me. Also, the insta-love. Literally obsessed with each other less than 40 pages in. I will say, I did enjoy the side characters/setting and I would (eventually) read the other books from this series! I just really disliked these main characters together and found their entire story pointless.

(Also, glad I read this on my kindle and I don’t own a physical copy of it. Small wins 🥰)

Another good one 😊
Liked this book a lot.

Despite some stubbornness and sometimes silly behaviour

the hero was a generously good man.

It's actually the main reason I enjoy this author's books - she writes human heroes, (not those alpha-holes they sell us in most romance books), but decent guys with flaws, who are not scared to show their vulnerability. Yes, I like my book heroes real. I don't get off on assholes, who barks orders, make women beg and f*ck around.

I know I'm in minority, but I'm very comfortable here 😉.

Jokes aside (or not 😉),
Bennett was, IMO, a very decent and great man. He cared for his family, he was the one, who supported his parents when his dad was ill. A very good son.

I understood why he was alert about his mother's new bf and I didn't judge him for his tantrums.
Ok, he went a bit OTT with his groveling at the end by bringing the whole town in debates 😆, but it's a perk of a small town life I guess.

I loved the heroine. A very good mother. Loved how she cared for her kids and especially that she wasn't OTT gentle with them. The conflict with her ex (and her ex per se) was a bit silly. But why not?
I shelved her as strong. *statement*

I was so happy to meet the MCs from the previous book. So happy for them 💞
The side characters are the reason I'm gonna read the next book, despite I can't stand the hero - the only asshole in this series. Maybe I get lucky and goat Clementine would bite his dick off? *dreaming out loud*

I want to live in Blue Moon

I'm absolutely loving that authors like Lucy Score are bringing a touch of reality to characters by making them need to exercise and eat healthy (most of the time) to maintain their hot bodies. For a wee while there, the main characters were alcohol guzzling, pizza eating, workaholics who lived on four hours of sleep a night. It always seemed effortless for these heroines and their boobs were always perky, legs lusciously long and skin perfectly clear. I wish it was effortless...

Sure, I'm always up for an escape from reality, but with age, I'm realising that I'm picky where I want to focus that escape from reality. Give me characters that are realistic in their everyday lives...BUT...give me a hero that's comfortable sharing the mushy gushy words. I'm a sucker for mushy gushy words. Unfortunately, while I love my hubby, getting mushy-gushy words is like pulling teeth. Sure, I get *I love you* regularly but I would love my hubby to make one of those big gesture declarations like they do in some of my favourite romance reads.

Which bring me to why I enjoyed Fall into Temptation...

Lucy Score has treated me to another story with realistic characters, faults and all, with heroes that bring out the big guns when it comes to their declarations of love. I was left extremely satisfied with my trip back to Blue Moon and I'm very keen to visit again soon.

The new yoga instructor also happens to be Beckett's new tenant and the daughter of his mom's new boyfriend. Beckett is struggling with his attraction to the sexy and very limber woman with fiery red hair. She's not at all his usual type but after the last woman he dated, he has come to realise that maybe it's time to change things up a little. Beckett soon realises that things are about to change a lot in his world when he can't seem to get Gia off his mind. Those kids of hers are making it even harder to resist the temptation of his Red.

Gia doesn't have time for a relationship with the sexy Mayor. Between setting up her new business, settling her kids into a new area and balancing the everyday problems a mother usually faces, she can't risk dropping one of her balls. She can't deny the attraction, though. The more time they spend together, the more her heart is at risk. For a while they attempt to keep things platonic... then after that fails they attempt to keep thing strictly sexual... then after that fails they attempt to keep things private... Things are definitely about to change in Gia, Even and Aurora's (her kids) world.

I love the town of Blue Moon and all its occupants. Their quirky matchmaking team are hilarious and I loved that they maintain a very high level of success. I really wish this town was real because I would love to visit.

If you're looking for a new series to devour and love a sexy romance with realistic ups and downs, I highly recommend giving the Blue Moon series a try.

Very cute and rom-commy, a nice palate cleanser after too many oversexed cheating idiots that think with their zippers.

Hero has a daddy complex in that his father was awesome, and he's not sure how to process his grief and his mother moving on...coincidentally with the heroine's father. He does some stupid stuff but nothing irredeemable.

His name is Beckett and the h's plot moppet daughter calls him Bucket which amused me.

P.S.
The heroine teaches yoga, and the H and his brothers scoff at "stretching". Pretty amusing scenes where the heroine cooks their goose with some hot yoga. I haven't done hot yoga, but did an Ultimate Pilates that I too scoffed at until I had to literally crawl, yes crawl, to the locker.

I adored this book! The kids really made this book for me. Aurora was just so adorable. I loved the brothers and their relationship. It was fun that they resorted to their inner child when they were together. And of course Beckett and Gia. They couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. Loved it!

2.75 rounded to 3 stars.

I enjoyed the writing, the dual povs, the humour and the overall low level of drama quite a bit. However, the push and pull between the MCs lasted too long and was very annoying. Plus the resolution at the end was a little too sappy for me. Overall, I enjoyed revisiting the small town of Blue Moon. This was a fun and easy read, which would have been even more fun if we didn't have to suffer through the "should I or shouldn't I" of the MCs for half the book.

What I liked:
1) A story about two adults who were regular people.
2) Seeing characters from the first book.
3) Very little ow/om drama, or other kinds of drama for that matter.
4) The fun small town antics.
5) The H was a good guy, although he could also be a total idiot. He wasn't a manwhore and was a responsible and kind person.
6) The h was a strong character. She didn't dissolve into a hormonal puddle around the H and knew her own worth.

What I didn't like:
1) The push and pull lasted way too long.
2) The H was a real idiot sometimes.
3) The ending was a little rushed and too sappy for me.

Opposites attract in the second book in Lucy Score’s Blue Book series, Fall Into Temptation. Mayor and attorney Beckett Pierce find his new tenant, Gianna Decker (Gia), alluring despite the fact she’s a single mom of two and a yoga instructor of all things. I love that this author writes flawed characters, that makes them so relatable and while I sometimes get frustrated with them, it’s also why I love them.

First off, kids in romances…in this day and age this is a realistic plot with the divorce rate as high as it is. In the case of this book, the kids add so much to this story. Evan is the son of Gia’s ex-husband, but he lives with her. A pre-teen with the wisdom of someone much older, he is hard to resist and his advice to anyone who will listen is always spot on. Aurora (Rora or Roar) is a precocious 5 year old who plays hard, lives loud, and loves fiercely and she gloms on to “Bucket” the minute she meets him.

Beckett is a man who loves is family and feels compelled to serve the community in which he was raised. He is a good man, but his resistance to his mother dating again was a bit over the top. Gia is strong and capable and works hard to provide for her two children and to be a present parent, something their father has never really been. The attraction between Beckett and Gia is obvious from the start and while it does take them awhile to finally get together when they do it is hot. However, it is the building of a relationship and the “family” feel to what they have with her kids that really made this story enjoyable.

Fall Into Temptation was fun, charming, a bit frustrating at times, but overall a very enjoyable book.

Welcome to the world of crazy... I didn't read the first book, I decided to skip it because it sounded... Hmmm, anyway, I picked this one up because there were kids involved.. I'm a sucker for books where either one of the MCs have kids.
The outstanding characters in this story were Gianna, Evan and Roar. Gianna moved to Blue Moon for a brighter future for herself + kids. She was physically and mentally strong, funny and focused on what she wanted. The author did a great job writing about Gianna's divorce, how she and her ex were still friends(there were no ex husband hating sessions whatsoever) and I kinda liked her ex husband too..
The kids were super awesome!! Read this book, hope you'll love it too.

Small town romance. He’s the mayor and she’s the new yoga instructor in town and also living in his guest house. If you read the first book then you’d know that Phoebe and Franklin get engaged in the epilogue. Phoebe is Becketts mom and Franklin is Gianna’s dad so that means they’re step siblings. They aren’t step siblings in this book yet but that’s all I could think about. But if you can set the whole step sibling thing aside it’s fine.

4.75🌟.

I’ve read a lot of small town romance books and if i could choose one fictional town to live in, it would be undoubtedly Blue moon.
God, these people are nuts! Crazy but with golden hearts ♥️. I adored every single one of them.

Beckett Pierce the most eligible bachelor and Mayor of blue moon was such a wonderful human. I loved how big his heart was. He was a great Mayor, Son, brother and overall a sensitive and caring person. Likewise Gianna Decker is struggling with life after moving to a new town with two kids. Especially as she is recently divorced.
I loved how vibrant and chaotic she was. Like Beckett she was such a positive character. Together they were a good match.

The whole town and their antics and quirks added so much depth to the story and I can’t wait to Jax and Joey’s book.
Special mention for Evan and Rora. They were my favourites.

- Small town romance.
- Single mom.
- Secretly dating.
- Big loud, chaotic and mismatched family.
- Holiday vibes.
- Could be read as standalone and safe.

I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

🍂 small town
🍂 single mom
🍂 landlord x tenant

*Read first in 2022 and reread in 2024*

When asked what my favorite, imaginary small town is, I always answer Blue Moon Bend. It’s perfect and quaint, and has one hell of a mayor. Fall into Temptation is the second book in the Blue Moon series and can be read as a standalone, but really shouldn’t be. The first book really describes the town and allows you to meet the main characters.

Now for what I loved about this book; Beckett and Gia. The characters alone made this book 5 stars for me. They were realistic and genuine and oh so deserving of love. Even the side characters were lovable. A light hearted, easy and cozy read.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️= open door, multiple scenes, descriptive

♥︎ Thank you NetGalley, Bloom Books and Lucy Score for the eARC of Fall into Temptation.

I really wanted to like this book as I’d been so impressed by the author’s other books, but unfortunately this one was a disappointment. It was just too OTT and far fetched. The “drama” was simplistic and stupid, and the town-wide involvement with the emergency meeting was ridiculous. I need my stories to be believable in order to enjoy them and this one couldn’t cut it. I’m not giving up on this author though as her other books were very entertaining, she must’ve just been having an off day when she wrote this one.

what an ANNOYING mmc 🤮 rly wanted to like this book, but couldn’t standddd him cause was no character growth…

he kept repeating mistakes, not ever rly apologizing, and kept making executive decisions without asking her / telling her 😒 so controlling & manipulative for WHAAAT

i did like the writing though and LOVED the side characters and would probably read their stories but this mmc gave me the ICK… had to force myself to finish it in case he had any redeeming qualities but NOPE 🙃

"In that moment, my heart started beating because it knew you. I didn't understand it at the time, but what my heart was saying was 'There you are. Finally'"

This was a strong two-star read until the last 120 pages.

Beckett Pierce is the mayor of Blue Moon, New York, and landlord and soon-to-be step-brother to Gianna Decker. Fantasizing about a love like his parents' and knowing how much losing his father hurt his mother, he detests Gianna's father and their relationship. Gianna is a single mother to two kids and divorced her musician husband a while back. Now in Blue Moon, she runs a yoga studio and hates her sexy landlord. For a man who has such a good reputation, he surely is a dick to her.

I read the first book in this series, No More Secrets, last year in the TRENCHES of a reading slump, and assumed the average reading experience I had was just a fluke. I've only read two Lucy Score books, one I gave one-star, Things We Never Got Over, and the first book in this series which was a solid three stars. For some reason, these cute ass books set in a small-town and slightly set on a ranch, practically force my hand to purchase them every time. This book made me regret the $9 I had spent on it at first.

Firstly, these characters meet each other and immediately are attracted, thus the lust. There is no time for a tension build-up with this book being 327 pages, and the fact that they immediately fall for one another. That being said, this book is now considered 'short' for a romance book, but this is an average size!!! There is time for a bit of a burn if you do it properly, and I fear Score did not.

I don't mind a third-act breakup; in fact, I love them solely for the angst and yearning. The first 200-something pages of this book are just them happy, in love, and having sex, but the last 120 pages are where this book gets good because they break up! Beckett said some SHITTY things to Gia that I personally find irredeemable, but the way their break up actually made me like these two together is what shocks me most. When they broke up, I finally got what I was looking for: TENSION AND YEARNING!!! THANK GOD.

I really didn' t feel like I knew any of these characters in book one, and I feel similarly in book two. I think even if I reread these books, I still wouldn't feel like I know any of them, but oh well. I was just recently gifted book three upon it's rerelease, and I'm hoping to get to that before May ends!

With that being said, you're probably going, "Ali, clearly the series isn't for you, just stop reading them!" and to that I say, "LEAVE ME ALONE." I am simply a victim of cute cover, teeny book syndrome, and because it's slightly yeehaw (occasionally set on a ranch), MY PARASITES YEARN TO FIND A BOOK IN THIS SERIES THAT IS FOR ME. I also have like an itch that I can't scratch until I find a Lucy Score book that I ride or die for. I don't know what that woman did to deserve my money, but I'll give it to her until I find one.

4 Stars Very Good

This was a very good, low on angst, slightly "cheesy" romance story. I LOVED everyone in the story but for me it lacked a bit of "excitement" if that makes sense.

If you want an all out easy, sweet, and yes, sexy story then give this book a go:)

I think maybe the issue was that Gia seemed kind of...blah? We got a lot of Becketts POV but not as much time in Gia's POV so it almost made me feel like I had no clue who she really was other then a zen redhead who boxed.

4-4.5 stars! I adored this!! It was funny, witty, filled with family wholesome-ness, and sexy! My very small complaint just has to do with the unnecessary miscommunication problem the last few chapters. Though, the redemption at the very end was adorable. Still, Beckett and Gia were great, as were the kiddies. (: I also love the town and the other characters. Can't wait for Jax and Joey's story!

I LOVED this story and I've seriously fallen in love with this town and the series. Blue Moon is so full of quirky, down-to-earth characters that it makes you want to be there. Toss in hunky heros and plenty of humor, and I'm all set.
