Myra wasn’t expecting to get divorced. She also wasn’t planning to book a flight to the Montana mountains to teach herself to ski. But after three glasses of wine—maybe it was four?—and her newly purchased just-for-me underwear, she embarks on her solo ski trip.
There’s just one minor issue, and he’s ten years younger.
Lincoln and his avalanche dog, Otto, moved back to patrol the mountains he grew up skiing. It wasn’t his first choice, but he’s on a different journey now. One he thought would be easier to navigate on and off the slopes than waiting for a stork-delivered girlfriend to drop from the sky. Instead, she rammed into him.
Running into each other had its perks. She now had a fake boyfriend to prove she was definitely not in a divorce-life-crisis. She was, but would rather give up her beloved Gilmore Girls DVD set before admitting it. He just wanted to bring a woman home to impress his family. If only it wasn’t so easy to fake it.
But Myra’s second chance at love and Lincoln’s crash course in speaking his mind might come with more bumps than getting off the chair lift.
For fans of Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez and Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison, readers will swoon and sweat over this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy set in a small town in Montana.
Christina is a lover of love who has been writing stories in her head since middle school. She also holds the titles of ‘mom’ and ‘babe’ and lives in Montana with her four children, husband, and two cats.
When Christina isn’t reading or writing, she is wrangling her kiddos, homeschooling, taking baths, baking, or raising a glass into the wee hours with her book club ladies.
I really enjoyed this adorable rom com from Christina. The MT representation was great because you don’t get to read very many books about your home state. Age gap, fake dating, and just some comedic relief throughout this book. I loved the doggy Otto! Christina always has a way of making you laugh.
It’s so weird to read a book once it’s out in the world that you have beta read because I feel like I remember parts of the book that ended up getting cut out. Anyways, I really enjoyed this one. I love Christina Hill’s writing style and how funny she is while also writing series topics. I liked the characters and how sweet Lincoln was. I thought the plot was really enjoyable and loved all the tropes thrown into this one! This is definitely a quick read that I had a hard time putting down!
Read this if you love: - Fake dating - Age gab - Service dog - One bed - Ski lessons - Cinnamon roll MMC - Divorced FMC - Holiday/Vacation romance - Set in winter
This was a super cute, light read. I loved seeing the world of ski patrol. My husband had been a patroller for 32 years. And Lincoln is my son’s name. I loved both characters. Myra is funny and I found myself cackling A LOT during this book. Lincoln was the sweetest. Definitely pick this one up!

Christina Hill and her hilarious story telling skills made me smile today. 🩵
Tips Up is a laugh out loud romantic comedy with the BEST cast of characters.
A 35 year old woman, Myra, going through a divorce and just trying to find her place in the world, who gets herself into some hilarious accidental situations. A sexy ski patroller, Lincoln, who is looking for the right lucky lady to share his life with. And my personal favorite, Otto, an adorable avalanche rescue pup that steals the show on every page he’s on. I would fill my pockets with snacks for this sweet boy too. 🩵
It’s cute, it’s funny, and it’s *saucy*. 😏 The perfect trio to make an unforgettable story. 🩵👏🏻
I enjoyed this romcom and the Montana ski hill setting. Wonderful characters, especially the dog Otto, with lots of laughable moments & great chemistry between the main characters Lincoln and Myra. Tropes include fake dating & age gap.
Myra embarks on a solo ski trip, after an unexpected divorce and too many glasses of Merlot. She literally runs into ski patroller Lincoln and his avalanche dog Otto her first day on the hill. He agrees to help teach her how to ski, and they hit it off pretty quickly 😉. After a fun night, Myra discovers she is ten years older than Lincoln. That is a deal breaker for her, so they try and keep things platonic.
Myra’s family is worried about her, thinking she is going through a divorce-life-crisis. Lincoln’s family is dealing with a cancer diagnosis. What better way to work together to keep their families happy, than to create a fake-dating arrangement! If only it wasn’t so easy to take it.
My thoughts 💭 I loved this book, I had such a fun time with it! Myra was such a strong character, showing that life after divorce is hard but doable. Lincoln was younger than her, but wise beyond his years. Dealing with a cancer diagnosis in a parent would be so hard, it was dealt with in such a sensitive way. It was a rom com, and I laughed and giggled, but it was also heartfelt and moving!
Favorite quote from Myra: “skiing feels like a sport you should have a permit for” 😂 As someone who learned to ski as an adult, I feel this so much!
Oh, where to start? I'm absolutely in love with this book. There's always something happening, whether it's small dramas or intriguing developments that keep you hooked and eager for more. Myra went there cuz of too much Merlot and then decided to find herself after divorce and not so good marriage, I love it.
From their initial encounter, I found myself eagerly anticipating Myra and Lincoln ending up together. Their first night together had me swooning, but when she flew off because of their age gap, I couldn't help but feel frustrated. Yet, his unwavering affection and belief in her perfection, despite her concerns about their age difference, truly warmed my heart. He's almost like a dream man, not just physically, but in how he genuinely cares for her and encourages her to be the best version of herself. It's something we all need in life. This was my opinion only after half of the book. My opinion remained unchanged as I progressed through the book. There were moments when I disliked Myra for playing hot and cold games with him, especially considering her obvious feelings for him. However, I understood her need for a fake dating scenario to appease her family, even if it did frustrate me at times.
Myra's family, aside from her brother whom I adore, initially seemed unlikable to me. However, by the end of the story, they grew on me, particularly as I contrasted them with his loving and endearing family. The ending, where he chooses to leave his life behind and go to her, rather than the other way around, felt refreshing and uplifting.
Overall, this book is perfect. It strikes a wonderful balance between funny moments, instances where you're frustrated with the characters for not realising their feelings sooner, and just the right amount of spicy scenes that are detailed without being overly explicit.
From the moment I opened the book, I felt like I was whisked away on a snowy adventure that left me breathless and utterly enchanted. The snowy slopes, the twinkling lights, and the charming ski lodge create the perfect backdrop for Myra and Lincoln's whirlwind romance. . Myra's unexpected journey from divorce to self-discovery is like a breath of fresh air in the romance genre. With each page, I found myself rooting for her, laughing at her antics, and swooning over her blossoming romance with the dashing Lincoln. . Let's talk about Lincoln for a moment - he's the kind of guy who effortlessly steals your breath with his rugged charm, infectious smile, and a heart as warm as a cozy fireplace on a winter's night. His chemistry with Myra is electric, igniting sparks that leap off the page and straight into my heart! . Christina Hill doesn't shy away from the messy, complicated parts of love and life. Myra's journey of self-discovery is raw, honest, and utterly relatable. Her struggles and triumphs resonate with me on a deeply personal level, making her story all the more poignant and meaningful. . And let's not forget the humor! Hill's witty dialogue and laugh-out-loud moments had me giggling like a schoolgirl. From Myra's hilarious mishaps on the slopes to the delightful banter between her and Lincoln, "Tips Up" is an absolute riot!

Its richly developed characters, cleverly plotted twists, and electrifying chemistry has me so enchanted that I'm already planning my next adventure: booking tickets for a skiing trip in the majestic mountains of Austria! I rate this 5/5 and definitely a romance worth reading, all of romance readers that LOVE Ali Hazelwood, Lynn Painter, Emily Henry and B K Borison wouldn't want to miss this book!
Tips Up by Christina Hill is a delightful second-chance romantic comedy.
Myra's divorce left her reeling, but after months of wallowing, she decided to take a bold step—something she’d never done before. She embarked on a solo ski trip, determined to reclaim her life and confidence. Early in her journey, she met Lincoln, a handsome and kind man who offered his help. What started as a casual, fun connection between two strangers quickly became something more complicated when feelings got involved. Could this chance meeting turn into something deeper than just a few days of "fun"?
This is a heartwarming story of two people with a significant age gap, both grappling with major life challenges, finding comfort and healing in each other’s company. The plot is straightforward and easy to follow, with a strong focus on romance and Myra’s journey of self-discovery. The mix of awkward yet adorable moments adds charm to the narrative, making it engaging and relatable. The characters are realistic and likable, and the dynamic between Myra and Lincoln is both touching and genuine. One of my favorite moments was Myra’s interaction with a little girl on the hill.
If you’re a fan of sweet, lighthearted rom-coms, Tips Up is definitely worth a read!

“Tits up.” 🤣☠️ As I learned to ski last week, I can guarantee that people make this mistake all the time. That was probably my favorite line in the whole book because I really related to it. My husband also got a good laugh from this.🤣 I thought the fake dating would have started earlier in the book, but it didn’t happen until the 40/45% mark which seemed a bit weird to me. This book delivered though and I loved Myra and Lincoln. Especially Myra, I related to her so much from learning to ski, finding herself after a divorce and healing while speaking her truth. Lincoln was so patient and mature for his young age and I loved seeing their relationship develop throughout the book. And Otto 🥹🐶 no need for further explanation. I’ll definitely take this on my next ski trip 😍
Have you ever skied before?
🥀Dual POV 🥀Fake dating 🥀Age gap 🥀Divorcee/Ski Patroller 🥀Avalanche dog 🐶🥹❄️ 🥀Ski romance 🎿
Was recommended this from a FB group but it quickly became clear it wasn't what I was looking for.. I had already started and DNF a different book so really wanted to get through this one.. but it was quite forced. I didn't enjoy this, there was just too much inner chatter for me, didn't seem like enough was happening for there to be paragraphs of inner thoughts - just quite difficult to love it.
The story line was fine, Myra, newly divorced decides to learn to ski and in doing so meets Lincoln - both characters are fine, but nothing unique about either of them, and alot of involvement from the dog.
Spice levels were non existent really probably 🌶/🌶🌶🌶🌶.. 2 in the whole book I think.. just wasn't alot of chemistry, I didn't fall in love with either character.. Yeah, it was a no for me.
Tips Up follows Myra, who got divorced and drunkenly books a flight to Montana to teach herself to ski. She learns very fast that it is harder to ski than she thinks. Lincoln works at the resort and teaches Myra to ski. The two end up deciding to fake date, only for them to realize their relationship might not be all that fake.
I thought I really was going to like this one. Fake dating is my favorite trope, and this book just sounded fun. I did not like this. It was pretty cringy. I think this is a great book to read if you are new to reading the fake dating trope. But for someone like me, I just found this book boring. I think this book also needed to be better edited. I think I have very high expectations for books with this trope, so that might be why I judged it so hard. Oh, well, on to the next read.
I said before rom-coms usually don’t make me actually laugh. But since then, I’m eating my words because this is another rom-com I giggled out loud so many times. I absolutely loved that the main character wasn’t super young. It made it so much more relatable with the 90’s references and humor. I absolutely loved this cute love story! The learning journey, the hardships that presented and the growth that took place hit home in so many ways. Kept the love story interesting and allowed more depth for the characters and plot. The spice was so good and were very much in the spotlight for a few portions of the book, but it carried with the storyline perfectly. Christina did an outstanding job with this one!
This was such a cute fun story of change, growth, and new relationships. Myra is struggling after a divorce that she wasn't ever expecting. Then one night after too much wine, she goes out on a limb for new change. Trying new things she's never done before. We're headed to Montana to a ski resort. That's where she meets Lincoln, or more like crashes underneath him. 😆 yes you read that right. I loved that we get both Myra and Lincoln's pov. These characters are so different from one another, but similar at the same time. The story with these two had me laughing. Of course the spice was good too. Lincoln is such a sweet guy, but don't let that fool you. He'll take control when it's time.
If you like a winter romcom, then please read this book! It’s filled with Christina’s signature humor that had me cackling the entire time. It’s reverse age gap—Myra meets hottie ski patroller Linc on her self discovery trip to Bozeman after signing divorce papers.
Myra was vibrant and full of life until her dud of an ex husband made her feel small until she no longer recognized herself.
Linc may be younger, but he’s an old soul at heart. He cooks, cleans, and communicates directly—is there anything sexier??
Frankie is the brother I wish I had, and Otto is the goodest dog ever.
I absolutely adore this story and these characters!!!
3.5 ⭐️ “What made you smile today?” 😍 Lincoln. The answer is always Lincoln. Finally a nice guy hero who ultimately gets the girl. He was so thoughtful and caring.
it was a sweet read and I enjoyed many of the interactions and side characters. I enjoyed how Myra finally became a stronger, better version of herself. She wasn’t my favorite though- she was wishy washy, led him on and changed course a few times. Even in the epilogue she acted shocked at Lincoln wanting to be with her. For her being 10 years older, it was certainly Lincoln who was consistently more mature.
Tips Up was another great one from Christina Hill for me! This was a super cute light read about beginner skier Myra and Ski Patroller Lincoln (with his super cute dog Otto). The reverse age-gap was a cute surprise to add into the fake dating element, I overall thought it all went well together. On top of the romance I enjoyed the inner dialogue Myra had navigating her divorce and the loneliness surrounding being a single woman in her 30s but still finding love. I like that they didn’t immediately move to be with one another once the fake dating turned real dating (but lets be real, was it ever fake(; ) but instead decided to try long distance before Lincoln eventually joins Myra in Arizona. Overall an enjoyable read and I cannot wait for the next book!

Tips Ups was SUCH a hilarious, fun read! Not only can Christina write romance, her books are hilarious, too. As someone who also tried to learn skiing as an adult, I found myself nodding while reading and exclaiming "Yes! Exactly!" Because she NAILED the terrifying experience of learning to ski. Add in Lincoln the sweetheart, Otto the lovable dog, and side characters who rounded out the whole story, this was a great read.
'Tips Up' is the second romcom I've read from Hill and she hits the mark every time. It's is the perfect cozy read: funny, witty, and spicy. But wait...there's more. It goes beyond the giggles. Her characters have dimension and the storyline is relatable. I can't wait for the next book in the series to drop! ADD TO TBR NOW!
I honestly didn't think I'd like this book. I think I assumed the humor would get old. Boy, was I wrong. I found myself smiling like a fool while reading. I related to Myra (though our situations are vastly different) so much I felt like running off to Montana with her. Amazing work, Christina! Thanks for the great read.
Very easy read and I enjoyed it. Relatable in a sense of how learning new things as an adult can be more difficult, especially the aspects of starting over. I kind of wish something bigger happened in this story. I love how the author didn’t just make her move to MT, but rather they did a long distance thing for a year. Way more believable

No puede terminar así, necesito más. No es un mal final, Myra y Lincoln terminan juntos y son felices, sin embargo, siento que el epílogo fue el principio de su historia. Ojalá Christina nos regale otro libro de ellos, aunque sea uno corto.
