A call for helpA world where things aren’t what they seemAnd an enemy that will stop at nothing to destroy Travis Hurts
There’s always another job to do.  Fugitive Recovery Specialist Travis Hurts has no shortage of outlaws and desperados to track down.  But when a call for help comes in from Las Brazzas, a world with secrets, he soon finds that he’s in over his head.  And there’s nothing he can do but shoot his way out of trouble.

Morgan Black has a score to settle.  He’s a paid killer, but the money doesn’t drive him.  He’ll kill Travis Hurts and the widow woman on the Purgatory out of sheer revenge.  But he has to be careful.  Getting close to Travis isn’t easy.  The bounty hunter is one of the only people in the galaxy who can recognize The Man In Black.  He’ll have to go hard and fast, straight at his target, and that’s a dangerous place for anyone.

The second Travis Hurts novel brings all the action and adventure you love, with more great characters and a story that builds in intensity until the final climatic scene.  With Shadow Threat, master storyteller Toby Neighbors delivers a fantastic sequel to his best selling Western Science Fiction novel Infinite Threat.  From a world full of corruption, to a planet on the fringe of the galaxy, you can feel the danger in every page.  If you like The Mandalorian, Justified, and the SSG Vanhorn series, you’ll love the Travis Hurts books.

Travis Hurts has a new partner, and beginning a family. Not the best idea.

Travis and Ava are becoming closer, their relationship growing faster than Ava's swelling baby bump. Ava wants to continue flying the Purgatory, even after the baby is born. Travis knows that raising a child in the small space craft will be difficult, but Ava is insistent and Travis wants to make her happy. So. We'll see. Meantime, bad guys are popping up all over and Travis is kept busy fighting criminals, while assassins are targeting him, and taking Ava as insurance. But she's more resilient than she appears. And Travis likes the way she appears.

Great characters caught in a thrilling storyline churning through bad guys and super villains right and left. The action is non-stop and exciting! A lot of sleep was lost when I couldn't stop in the middle of a fight! But the fights led to battles, led to showdowns, led to life threatening combats with exotic weapons and expensive protecting clothing. It's a great read!

Lovely space western!

Anyone who enjoys solid and believable sci-fi plus the honor and integrity of the ranger in the Old West will enjoy this series. The romance is inevitable but the slow-burn helps build the uncertainty of real life love. The hero isn't unbreakable, either, so the role switches from the main character to others as he runs into trouble. I am looking forward to reading more.

Hero to villain

Travis picks up more enemies than he can keep track of. Old ones reappear, new ones come along and introduce themselves
Other than the galactic police, most people now seem to, at best, dislike him, at worst want to kill him
The whole storyline progresses nicely, you need to have read book 1 to get the most from this one
Will be interesting to see where book 3 goes with this, quite a few options open to the author
