A heartwarming and festive novella that will make you believe in the magic of Christmas
She just wanted to spend Christmas alone but it seems fate has other plans…
Workaholic Faye O’Leary hates Christmas. She usually spends the day on her laptop catching up on work, but when her boss hands her the keys to Mistletoe Cottage, she is pushed into travelling to the west coast of Ireland to stay in the remote village of Inishbeg Cove for the holidays.
When a snowstorm leaves her stranded in the isolated cottage with no power, she is forced to accept help from local farmer, Conor Flynn. However it seems nobody will believe that she wants to spend Christmas alone and as the Flynn family keep trying to include her in their festivities, she eventually has no choice but to join them.
As the Christmas magic weaves its spell, sparks fly and long held secrets unravel. But soon reality calls and Faye has a decision to make. Will she allow the magic of Christmas to heal her heart and to find out where she truly belongs?
A beautiful and romantic novella that shows you're never too old for the magic of Christmas. Perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley, Jenny Colgan and Emma Heatherington.

Izzy Bayliss lives in Ireland with her husband, children and their dog. A romantic at heart, she loves nothing more than cosying up in front of the fire with a good book. Her motto is that reality is over-rated and she is happiest staring into space and day-dreaming.

I was really hoping to love this one, but I didn’t. This is a short story about Faye, who normally spends Christmas alone, going to her bosses cabin for Christmas since her boss, Margo, wouldn’t be using it. Margo’s family, the Flynn family, own the farm. Conor runs into Faye as she is trying to make it up to the cabin. He invites her for Christmas to his family’s house, and reluctantly she agrees. After spending the time with Conor Flynn and his family, she realizes what’s been missing in her life. But is she just a fling to him?
I rolled my eyes HARD at this book. At a mere 81 pages, the author tried to write an entire novel. But for me, that meant that I didn’t connect with the characters and I didn’t feel any connection between the characters themselves. This has so much potential if the author took their time and wrote a longer story. I’m not saying it has to be hundreds of pages long, but there needs to be more development.
I will say this, the author did paint a very pretty picture of the town. I could envision it in my mind as I was reading it. I also could envision the Flynn family being so welcoming of Faye. So that part I did like.
This story sounded amazing! Small village in Ireland, ruralboy X city girl, found family, christmas magic. It’s closed door but its wholesome enough that it doesn’t matter.
I think this story would be better with some heavy editing. If rhis author had an editor, they need firing ASAP. Cause this reads like a first draft that was published and I mean that lovingly but like.. please send your writing to an editor or even another reader. There’s .. a few paragraphs that need heavy editing, and others that just need phrases tweaking here or there.
But my biggest issue? The issue I’m oulling my hair out over? The MMC owns a Land Rover, and the author has then proceeded to call it a jeep EVERY. DAMNED. TIME. A LAND ROVER IS NOT A JEEP. I CANNOT KEEP FUCKING SAYING THIS. Oh my god.. a Jeep is a make of car. A Land Rover is a make of car. A LAND ROVER IS NOT A JEEP. I’m more irate that rational about it but it’s important to me.
For me this is after book four but I think it does not matter because you don't meet anyone from the town it's focussed on the Finn family. So it could be the first book before book one.
It's a small Christmas read linked to inishberg cove. But you don't need to have read the series. It's about a women with no family her boss sends her to her birth town in her cottage to stay for Christmas because she likes to be alone (but the boss has a big pushy friendly family and a single nephew, but she leaves it to fate)
A short story, part of the Inishbeg Cove series. It's set at Christmas and is a lovely story about the magic of the festive season.
It's easily read in less than an hour, but left me with a big smile on my face.
You don't need to have read any of the other books in the series, to enjoy this book; but if you haven't, I highly recommend you read them, especially if you like Irish romance books.
Poorly written and poorly edited. This is a book that a teenager could have easily written. Usual plot, but meets girl, they get off to a rocky start then fall in love
This was a perfect Christmas story romance. I loved the story and the characters are brilliant. I can't wait to read more of these books. I highly recommend this book
I love books set in Ireland and at Christmastime so this book checked all the boxes....love, family and Christmas. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
