Fall is Murder
By
Nellie H. Steele
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fall is Murder is the newest novella from Nellie H. Steele based on her Middle Age is Murder Cozy Mystery series. The main character, Ellie has the uncanny ability to communicate with her cat Cleo, and dog Loa after sustaining a head injury soon after moving to her new home. During a stormy rainy night one night, Ellie, Mia (Ellie’s best friend), Cleo, and Lola settle in and relax by eating popcorn and watching a movie. The sudden desire for chocolate to eat with their popcorn prompts Ellie to go downstairs to the kitchen to grab some chocolate. While starting down the stairs, a loud burst of thunder startles Ellie, causing her to trip and fall down the stairs, hitting her head on a step. When Ellie regains consciousness, she finds that she is one hundred years back in time and the people, and her pets, are changed. Although they appear the same, all of them have changed in their roles, names, and relationships. Ellie’s world is turned upside down. To get back to her own time, Ellie must first help solve a ghostly mystery and trust her new friends to figure out what she must do to return home.
This is a fun and delightful story with some fantastic allusions to other works by Nellie H. Steele and even a very popular time-travel movie from the past. The story was well-written and it was very witty how the author worked her gems into the storyline. The characters were hilarious at times, especially the talking animals, and the world-building was fascinating. The book was short but a highly enjoyable and satisfying read. I highly recommend this book to get a feel-good feeling.

Fall is Murder is a novella from the Middle Age is Murder Cozy Mystery series by Nellie H. Steele. It is a quick and easy read that has all of our favorite characters in the series.

Ellie is enjoying an evening at home with her best friend and her pets watching a movie. When she gets a craving for some chocolate, she falls down the stairs. She wakes up and things have taken an interesting turn, and she winds up traveling back in time while she is unconscious to help solve a mystery.

This cozy mystery adventure was charming, comical, and gives us a glimpse into what could be coming next in this series. I personally can't wait to read more of these fantastic characters!

Fall is Murder is Book 2.5 in the Middle Age is Murder Series by Nellie H Steele. I love this series with a sassy cat, Cleo, and a loving dog, Lola and main character, Ellie. In Fall is Murder, Ellie solves a mystery/murder but in 1924. How she got to 1924 and does she get back to 2024...you have to read this fun story. Nellie H Steele writes incredible stories that beg to be read. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Basically a repeat of the old Wizard of Oz story. Ellie falls down the stairs during a bad storm and hits her head. She awakes in 1924, and all the people she meets during her time there all look like her friends at home, just with different names. She helps solve a mystery of a haunted house, and they help her get back home by using a time machine. She awakes, and is back at home with her friends.

Although this was a very short story, it took me a while to get into it. Mid story it got better but it lacked a good ending.
