When I first read the title 'Truth or Dare', I was a bit confused yet intrigued as to why this title, but the author beautifully conveyed its meaning throughout the book - Joining Truths To melt off the distance. This is a short and fast-paced read with only 100 pages, but that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Our MMC Yashas is the ultimate golden boy, with 'oh so hot' looks, a charming personality, and everyone's eyes on him. He's the popular one, and you can see why. And our FMC Yuktha is smart, confident, and strong, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have her scars. The wounds of body shaming have hurt her heart deeply, and it's heartbreaking to see.
The story is mainly focused on the intertwined relationships of our protagonists, fueled by ego and attitude, with a pinch of true friendship to make everything balance and tasteful. Where Yashas and Yuktha went from strangers to best friends to enemies and finally, a couple - it's a journey worth taking. This book was utterly entertaining, with the unfolding of twists that kept me hooked.
I've read another book written by the author, and the similar names saga continues - with Kiran, Kasvi, Yuvan, Yuktha, and Yashas. (I had to remind myself multiple times that Kiran is a boy's name.) The flashbacks were spot on, giving me insight into what exactly was going on.
Overall, it's a beautifully written, fast-paced short read with lots of emotions that will keep you invested in the characters and their story.
STRONGLY RECOMMEND
I strongly recommend "Truth or Dare" for its captivating story, well-developed characters, and emotional depth. It's a fast-paced, engaging read that explores complex relationships and themes, making it a must-read for fans of character-driven fiction.
