I guess this is a novelization of a movie, that is loosely based on or inspired by A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. I'm not familiar with Twain's work but I'm guessing this should have just stuck with fantasy and magical transport than trying to science fiction it and explain Tom's travel back in time. Just too silly and it doesn't really work. I am happy to have finally tried reading this though because it's an old book my uncle gave me long ago because he thought it was funny and enjoyed it and figured the 13 year old me would too. Highly possible that I would have back then, but alas not now.

A cute, fun little story that I think younger kids especially would like. Outdated for today's world, but still advanced enough that I don't think kids would notice.
