Alexa “Lexi” Simmons is used to leaving it all on the field, but she’s never risked her heart.
Being a woman playing football is hard enough, but being the quarterback? She doesn’t have time for things like feelings or relationships. But when her best friends and teammates propose a friends with benefits arrangements for their senior year, Lexi starts to see her guys in a new light. As they work together to lead their team to victory, the lines between friendship and something more start to blur. However, with her past still haunting her, Lexi is hesitant to take things further.
Can her guys break through the walls she's built around her heart and convince her that they're worth the risk?
This is a MMMMMF why-choose, where the female main character won’t have to choose between any of the guys and will end in a happily ever after!
Trigger mentions and flashbacks to sexual assault, mentions of attempted suicide (not described in detail).

As a football fan I was definitely hesitant to read this book, but the author did a great job on all the football notes! While the girl quarterback is still a far reach this book is definitely a fun read. The author writes very well and the story is definitely great. I would say definitely try it out!
So, this book was okay, I guess. There were moments when I genuinely thought about DNFing it, but I didn’t, mostly because I really wanted to see how everything would play out in the end. That curiosity kept me going.
That said, parts of the story were honestly kind of boring. I get that it was trying to explore the romance and dive into what main characters were going through, but… I don’t know. Sometimes I felt nothing. I didn’t really connect with them, at all. Not in a I dislike them way, it just felt like something was missing emotionally, especially in the bonding side.
I think a big part of the problem was how short the book was, especially considering how many characters were involved. It really should’ve been at least 400 pages to give us more time to explore each relationship, dive deeper into who these people are, and spend more meaningful moments with them. Or maybe a second book? I don’t think there’s going to be one, since we kind of got the full ending here.
Now, when I read a why choose book, I need group scenes. Those are always my favorite parts, and this one didn’t have any. It felt like she had a separate relationship with each guy, and that dynamic felt… off. I love when the boyfriends are also boyfriends. That’s my favorite. Or at the very least, just give me one solid group scene. But nope not here.
The spice was good tho. We didn’t get a ton of it, which I was fine with, but when it did happen, it was great. Still, I wanted more moments of them together, any kind of scene that showed them all bonding would’ve made a big difference.
So yeah, overall, it was okay. I didn’t feel that strong emotional connection, that intensity I usually look for. Will I re read this? Probably not. Did I enjoy parts of it? Yes, the book was funny at times. The banter was genuinely good and made me laugh a few times. But nothing super special. Nothing that really stood out.
I’ve always enjoyed Sunny Hart’s books, but this one took it to a whole new level. Lexi (FMC) went through something traumatic, and the way she handled it was so completely realistic. And the friends-to-lovers arc was amazing, all the men were thoroughly fleshed out, each having their distinctive traits. Wow, just wow. Kudos to Sunny Hart for writing a side to trauma that isn’t normally written outside of dark romances, and doing it very well.
I absolutely loved this book it was entertaining not your average reverse harem in my opinion. I loved the twist of women in a dominated sport. The thing I loved the most though was watching her get her voice work through her shit!! Honestly this book was therapeutic and healing ❤️🩹 if you know you know! Sunny Hart thank you for writing this book!
I didn’t expect that to be this good. The relationship she has with all of her guys was great eaten have you one of them was so tentative with her and they care about her so much they waited until she was ready to acknowledge that they love her and they helped her with her past trauma. I love this book.
I love Lexi and her guys! I love how they loved and supported her and knew what she needed even when they didn't have the whole story . This book had some heavy topics and I think they were ha dled well. The spicy wasn't over the top and was well written. I loved how her team supported her and respected her as the captain
A why choose romance that hit so many feels. The care and love the guys had for her, to the support she had from her team just made the book so good. This is a relatable book that’s not too out of reach for athletes. Sometimes you just need to sit and read something you can see actually happening and fall in love with it.
Avoiding the sack by Sunny Hart This is a why choose about the female quarterback and the special relationship with a few teammates! This book does a wonderful job tackling a tough topic. The plot is well written and wraps up all the plot points up beautifully. 4⭐️ 3.5 🌶️
This book was so good, it made me cry unexpectedly but other than that I loved this book. I read it in one sitting. It’s 3:15 right now as I finished this book. I’m going to start another one by the same author.
This book is amazing. She has the best guys in the best ways. I love watching the depth of their friendships evolve even more. The way they help her through her trauma is so special.
The characters are lovable and it's an emotional roller coaster. It's fun and light most of the book but the heavy stuff is heavy and had my crying. Will definitely read other things from this author!
I really loved this book The story is good the main character are very well written and the emotions are on point.I finished it in a couple of hours it was soooo good, reminds me a little bit about forced proximity by Tate James
I didn’t hate it but I feel like more could have been explored for sure. The author could have probably built a WHOLE series based off the individual relationships and then merged it into one. It was still a cute story and a quick read.
i would love this book if we had a normal relationship between the man characters because come on, five guys and one girl is too much for me it was really cute and i love mac and finn honestly again, this type of relationship bothers me so that’s why is four stars
Quick and easy read. For some reason I thought this was going to be an omegaverse book. I found out very quickly it was not lol it was a nice palate cleanser with some hard topics.
3.5 stars. I didn't have super high expectations for this one, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a good quick read with some nice characters. The story was kinda sweet, but with a past-trauma twist.
