He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. He has already planned his escape.
Mark Bennett has always taken what he wants. Power. Money. Jordan Sinclair.
His obsession with her put him behind bars. But prison changes a man. And Mark Bennett is not the same person who walked in.
Now he has a choice to make. Let the obsession consume him or rise from the ashes of everything he was and become something better.
Then Charlotte walked in and changed everything.
The stakes have never been higher. The line between obsession and true love has never been thinner. And Mark Bennett has never been more dangerous than he is right now.
Nancy Carolyn Brown is an author of contemporary romance, fond of writing love stories about hunky badass men endowed with massive hearts, and strong heroines with just the right mix of sweet and sass… flaming hot chemistry and thrilling nail biting suspense is always guaranteed!
She loves cosmos and chocolate and a swoony good book with a strong storyline.
She lives in sunny southern Alberta, Canada with her high school sweetheart husband and naughty Bengal cat. When she isn't writing, she enjoys the simple things in life like spending time with family and friends, reading and running with her favorite playlist blasting in her ears.
Mark Bennett has me on the fence. He is a very polarizing character. I did not like what he did to Jordan, but cannot deny wanting to know more about him. Ms. Brown thoroughly succeeds in making Mark Bennett someone readers will love to dislike. If you have read the previous books in this series, you know Mark Bennett was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for his role in a terrorist plot. Mark always has a plan. He gets what he wants. He has a lot of money and a lot of powerful people at his disposal.
Mark cannot let the love of his life, Jordan Black, go. To start his new life he must make a lot of changes. Those changes bring him face to face with Dr. Charlotte Hughes. Charlotte has made her career the only thing that she cares about. Life dealt her a hard blow that left her feeling guilty and unworthy of love. The attraction and connection she feels toward Mark is instant. Mark is also surprised by his reaction to her. He is still in love with Jordan, right?
Now, Mark is still the same self-absorbed man he has always been. Will his manipulative ways push Charlotte away? Both have secrets and feel that they have to disclose their past indiscretions before their relationship can move forward. Will Mark’s previous life be too much for Charlotte to handle? I am still on the fence about Mark but I am not on the fence about this book or Ms. Brown. This series puts her firmly on the must read list.
This is the third book in this series. We first were introduced to Mark Bennett in book 1 where he was the main villain and was obsessed with Jordan. The last we saw or heard of him was that he was in prison.
This is Mark’s redemption story and it’s a great one. Through his journey to his new life, he meets the true love of his life. As he falls harder and harder for Charlotte, he realizes that his feels for Jordan were not love but obsession. This journey is one that lets us see how Mark gains insight into his past and does better with his future. His journey isn’t easy but the love story between him and Charlotte is filled with a ton of emotion and heat! I enjoyed these reads and can’t wait to see what’s next from this author!
Well I was curious to see where this book would go, since Matteo was a baddie in the first book. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The plot is original, intricate and cleverly written. I’ll say no more just read the books. Loved the connection between him and Charlotte, the spice was out of this world. Really enjoyed this series.
Amazing second chance of life romance! After his obsession with Jordan (from Mr. Black book 1). He ended up in prison for terrorist and abduction chargers. Since he being locked up he had plenty of time to think and change everything. Especially when he met Charlotte and everything changes. Must read!
I just figured when I started reading this book, that I wasn't going to like Mark Bennett because of the trouble he caused in Book 1. I have to say Mark is the guy who was able to turn his life around, although not legally, but he did turn out to be an ok guy. I really glad that the series ended with Mark getting his second chance.
Mr. Mark Bennett is a bad guy. Ms. Jordan Sinclair is a beautiful Art Gallery expert. Dr. Charlotte Hughes is a brilliant eye surgeon with a past she’s ashamed of.
When Mark gets caught and arrested, he has lots of time to ponder his life while he serves out his sentence. He regrets the way he treated Jordan and hopes to make amends. He sets a plan in motion so that he can find out how she truly felt about him. Only he meets Charlotte and isn’t sure what to do because of his secrets. Will he patch things up with Jordan or will he and Charlotte overcome their pasts and start anew?
Mr. Bennett is book 3 in a short series. It’s ok to read it on its own, but likely best to read book 1, Mr. Black as it gives some good background. I loved both books and wished there were more! So many unexpected twists that kept me guessing I couldn’t put it down. I’ll be grabbing book 2, Mr. Stone so that I can find out more about Mr. Brick Wall lol.
This is a different spin on a 2nd chance romance than most books. Personally, I wasn't sure where this would go since Mr. Bennett was introduced in the 1st book of this series, and I didn't like him from that book. Charlotte has her own demons from her past and believes she shouldn't be loved because of it. She doesn't realize she's with the perfect person who is also looking for someone to love them regardless of their own past. Mr. B and Charlotte seem to be almost perfect for each other.
This is the third book, in the series. Please read the triggers in the book. The last time we read about him, in book one (Mr. Black), when\ why he went to jail. This book has romance, changing identities, spice, second chance, and other things. This is the story of Mark and Charlotte, on how the found their Happy Ever After. This book as an Great book and the end of the series. This was an Great Series.
This book is the third book in the Mister Series. It is about Mark (Matteo) and Charlotte. Mark is a convicted terrorist serving time in prison and Charlotte is a surgeon. Mark (Matteo) and Charlotte me at a clinic in Geneva. In this book you see them battling again their feeling for each other, their pasts and how to move forward with their relationship. This was a great book. This book has romance, doctor, terrorist and spice. I think this book has something for everyone. Triggers: stalking, physical, verbal and emotional abuse, obsessive behavior
Wow. 🤩 I didn’t know how I was going to feel about this book because of Mr. Bennett but I actually loved this story especially with the FMC story line and background! The redemption for the MMC was also phenomenal, I loved this book so much! 🥰🥰
I’m so happy Mark turned out to be a lovely man in the end him and Charlotte make a lovely sexy hot couple I real enjoyed all this series and would highly recommend it
This was the final book in the series. Everything came full circle so to speak. Mark Bennett was sentenced to time in jail for his crimes. He figured a way out and changed his life. He went to Geneva to change his appearance. That is where he met Charlotte. They became great friends. He was still hung up on Jordan and he needed closure. He went to New York to do that. Things changed for him that day. There was a lot that took place in this book. It was really good.
This book is a fantastic conclusion to the Mr. Black series. You will learn to understand a genuinely challenging character from the Mr. Black book, and appreciate his origin story. Nancy Brown creates some of the most compelling characters in the Romance genre, and this story is worth the read. Could not put this book down. Easily 5 stars.
Mark Bennett is a major part of the first book and I wasn't sure if he could be redeemed enough to enjoy his story. I am so glad that I gave him a second chance! He completely redeemed himself and I was actually rooting for him by the end! Mark's story picks up about eighteen months or so after the first book. Mark is in prison and has a plan to escape and start a new life with a new identity and a new face. Enter Charlotte. She is one of the surgeons at the super secret facility in Switzerland. Charlotte doesn't know "Matteo's" story or reasons for changing his looks, but as they spend time together, they grow close and feeling develop. They know they have only a short time together before Matteo leaves, so they leave it as friends that know they are attracted to each other. A couple weeks go by and they discover they are both on holiday in the same place, so they meet up and give into the attraction and have a spicy, panty-melting weekend together. At the end the the weekend Mark/Matteo knows they have something special, but Charlotte has her own secrets and past to deal with and leaves before Matteo can change her mind. When disaster strikes someone close to Matteo, Charlotte is the only one her wants to help. Circumstances make it so that she can go home with Matteo and spend more time together. they grow closer and the chemistry keeps growing as well. Little by little, they reveal secrets to each other, but are both terrified the biggest secrets will make the other run fast and far. I loved Mark and Charlotte together and with all the baggage they both have to deal with. I really loved the growth that Mark has through the book. He was so determined to have revenge and get Jordan back, but with time and growing real feelings with Charlotte, Mark realizes his obsession wasn't love and is set one righting the wrongs he had done before. Great redemption story!
This is Book 3 in The Mister Series and while it is told in a dual point of view from the MCs perspective (Mark and Charlotte), it is mainly from Mark’s point of view. This is the story of Mark Bennett, who was introduced in Mr. Black was the villain. He was involved with shady characters, and he had kidnapped Jordan in Book 1. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison for those crimes.
In Mr. Bennett, the bad guy finally gets his HEA. Without giving away too many spoilers, Mark starts a new life in Europe with a new face. Enter Charlotte, a surgeon who specializes in eye surgeries. Charlotte also has a troubled dark past. These two characters both looking for redemption and love.
This was great conclusion to The Mister Series. While there were times I was frustrated with Mark as I felt he was hanging on to his obsession of Jordan. However, he did redeem himself in multiple ways. Charlotte and Mark get their HEA.
Absolutely gripping! I could not put this book down. It features the transformation of Mark Bennett the villain to Matteo Berutti the vineyard owner and philanthropist. His wealth buys him an escape from prison, and an opportunity to reinvent himself and to plan his vengeance. Remorse for his past actions and Charlotte, a woman with her own dark secrets, are the catalysts to him taking the path towards redemption. His realization that the feelings he once had for another woman were part of an unhealthy obsession comes only as he acknowledges the much deeper feelings Charlotte inspires in him. Mark/Matteo’s story is twisty and stained by evil, but he wants nothing more than to be worthy of Charlotte’s love, to find his redemption. Can their love survive the revelation of his secrets and those that have haunted Charlotte for years? Can love truly redeem him?
I will definitely recommend this unputdownable and rather unconventional second chance at love romance.
Nancy Brown demonstrates exceptional storytelling courage with Mr. Bennett by choosing to center her final installment around the series most complex and morally compromised character. What could have easily felt like a cheap redemption narrative is instead a carefully constructed psychological portrait of a man genuinely reckoning with the consequences of his choices. Charlotte is written with intelligence and nuance, she is not naive about who Mark is and that clarity makes her decision to see beyond his darkness feel completely credible and earned. This is sophisticated dark romance that respects its readers and delivers on every single promise it makes.
As a final chapter to the Mister Series Mr. Bennett succeeds on every level that matters in serialized romance fiction. Nancy Brown demonstrates a remarkable ability to re contextualize a villain without diminishing the severity of his past actions, Mark Bennett is held accountable throughout this narrative even as he evolves beyond who he was. The forbidden romance with Charlotte is handled with precision and genuine emotional depth that elevates it well above the standard tropes of the genre. Brown closes this series with her most ambitious and accomplished work yet and leaves readers with a finale that feels both satisfying and genuinely moving.
What distinguishes Mr. Bennett from the majority of dark romance novels currently on the market is the remarkable psychological authenticity Nancy Brown brings to Mark's internal journey. His gradual recognition of the difference between obsession and genuine love is not presented as a sudden transformation but as a slow and painful process of self examination that feels completely believable. Charlotte functions as far more than a redemptive love interest, she is a fully realized character with her own agency, her own fears and her own reasons for making the choices she makes. Nancy Brown has written something genuinely important within this genre.
The Mister Series concludes with its most layered and emotionally sophisticated entry and Nancy Brown deserves significant credit for the ambition and skill on display throughout Mr. Bennett. The decision to tell this story from Mark's perspective gives readers unprecedented access to a mind working through genuine moral reckoning and the result is a narrative that is as thought provoking as it is deeply romantic. Charlotte brings warmth humor and formidable backbone to a story that needed exactly that balance of light against its considerable darkness. This is romance writing operating at the highest level of the craft.
Mr Bennet is book 3 of the Misters Series. This book, like the other 2, kept me on the edge of my seat with each turn of the page. We met Mark Bennet in book 1 when he used the museum where Jordan works. He wants her and his attitude is she will be mine and I will get her whether she wants it or not. You will need to read the book to find out what goes on because I don’t do spoilers. Im ready for more book by Nancy Brown!
As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.
Book 3 in the Mister Trilogy by Nancy Brown that follows Charlotte and Mark's story. This book is packed with great character development and growth especially for Mark, whom we remember as an antagonist earlier in the series.
This trilogy has been a steamy, hot and fantastic ride that I could not put down until I had them all read and finished!
⚠️ What to expect:⚠️ ✨Instant attraction/love ✨Suspense ✨Fantastic character development ✨Multi POV ✨High Stakes ✨Plenty of Action ✨Strong FMC ✨🌶🌶🌶🌶
Matteo and Charolette. This is a redemption story if you’ve ever needed one. If you missed the book, Mr Black then you missed the introduction to Mark/Matteo. Mateo breaks out of jail to change is appearance and start over anew. Only to fall in love. Charolette has had a rough go at love. So much so she’s dedicated herself to her career so when she meets the handsome Matteo she doubts herself and her feelings.
This story has redemption, second chances, self reflection and more.
Three books in and Nancy Brown just keeps raising the bar. Mr. Bennett is the darkest and most intense of the three and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. The story grabs you by the throat from the very first line and does not let go until the last page. Charlotte is hands down my favorite heroine of the series sharp, brave and completely unafraid of a man the whole world has written off. If you have been following this series from the beginning this finale will give you everything you were hoping for and more.
I finished Mr. Stone at midnight, told myself I would sleep and then picked up Mr. Bennett immediately because I simply could not stop. I was fully prepared to hate Mark Bennett after what he put Jordan and Darian through in Book 1 and Nancy Brown somehow turned that hatred into something so much more complicated and interesting. Charlotte coming into his life and cracking open that black soul of his was the most unexpected and beautiful thing this series has done yet. Nancy Brown saved the best and most daring story for last.
After the rollercoaster that was Mr. Stone I genuinely did not think my nerves could handle another book in this series but here I am completely destroyed by Mr. Bennett in the most wonderful way possible. The idea of giving the villain his own redemption story is risky and Nancy Brown pulls it off with such confidence and emotional intelligence that it never feels cheap or unearned. Charlotte is exactly the kind of woman Mark needed bold, sharp and completely unafraid of the darkness he carries. This series ending is absolutely perfect.
Coming straight off Mr. Stone I thought I knew what to expect from Nancy Brown by now and then Mr. Bennett walked in and completely changed everything I thought I understood about this series. Mark sitting in prison slowly untangling the difference between obsession and genuine love is some of the most psychologically rich and compelling writing I have encountered in any romance novel. The moment Charlotte enters his world you feel the shift immediately and it is breathtaking. Nancy Brown is operating on a completely different level with this book.
I need everyone who has read Mr. Black and Mr. Stone to immediately pick up Mr. Bennett because this series finale is something truly extraordinary. Mark Bennett is morally grey in a way that makes you deeply uncomfortable and yet completely unable to look away from him for even a single page. Charlotte matching his energy with that backbone and sass the synopsis promises is not an exaggeration she is magnificent. Nancy Brown wrote a villain's redemption arc with so much heart and complexity that I finished this book feeling genuinely moved.
After falling apart over Alex and Valentina in Mr. Stone I thought my heart needed a rest but Mr. Bennett had other plans entirely. Watching Mark Bennett rise from the ashes of who he was and face the choice between darkness and redemption while Charlotte quietly dismantles every wall he has ever built was absolutely riveting from beginning to end. Nancy Brown writes transformation in a way that feels completely real and hard won rather than convenient or rushed. The forbidden element between Mark and Charlotte made every scene between them feel dangerously electric.
