What’s a girl to do when she’s stranded in paradise with a handsome, filthy rich orc?
That’s the dilemma realtor Shona Dove faces when a big green billionaire stomps into her life and demands she help him buy an island off the coast of Motham City. He’s buffed, he’s arrogant, and sexy as hell. And while Shona has never been attracted to Orcs before, there’s a first time for everything…
The last thing Tor Arquin wants is to return to the city that treated him like dirt. Except now his dad’s had an accident and his sister is demanding Tor comes home to help out. And despite his huge success, Tor still cares deeply for his orc kinship.
When Tor engages Shona to help him buy a home suited to a billionaire, he soon realises there’s another reason to want to return to Motham City. Her. But will this beautiful, sophisticated human ever consider a hulking green orc as a mate? Particularly when her sleaze-bag vampire ex boyfriend still lurks in the shadows.
Will Tor win Shona’s heart? Find out in book 3 of Motham City Monsters, a sweet and steamy monster romance with a touch of dark intrigue.
Lilith Stone spent her childhood checking for monsters under the bed. Now she writes sweet and steamy romances for grown-ups who’d prefer a monster in their bed than under it. She suffers from an over-active imagination which means she’s constantly anxious unless making up stories in her head. She wrote and illustrated her first gothic novel at age 12 and hasn’t really stopped since. English by birth, she now lives in Australia and keeps out of the sea where there are too many real life monsters.
This was a pretty quick, instalust/love monster romance.
Tor left town years ago after being mistreated as an orc and watching his friend die in the mines. Shona is working as a realtor and still pretty traumatized from her ex fiancée vampire. She’s finding Tor a place to stay for when he visits his family.
I know it’s my opinion but I think slow burn is elite, so instalove just never hits the same for me.
For instance, they’re both attracted right away and end up trapped on an island and sleep together. But because there’s not deep feelings yet, it’s super awkward after, they’re both feeling weird, she feels unprofessional, etc.
Plus we get this little tidbit… “Oh yeah, he’d had no trouble sating his lust with a myriad of species. Perhaps loved a little too, one time. A feisty succubus with a touch of human in her forebears, so she’d told him. Over one season, they’d rutted so frequently without protection, it was amazing she didn’t fall pregnant to him. But she hadn’t.”
Why would I want to know that? Can’t we just say he did casual and almost had a love once but it didn’t last. Instead I have this picture in my head right before he sleeps with the heroine. So when they forget protection because they’re both so into it, I’m not thinking this is special in any way because I’m thinking of him with this past woman and how he did it all the time and considered having a baby with her.
The good thing was that she wasn’t a blushing virgin like some stories, and did have healthy sexual appetites too.
So blah blah, they obviously keep seeing and liking each other. Tor is smitten with her and thankfully not a playboy currently. I would’ve liked to see more emotional connection as well as physical but I did like that he wants to date her and is honest and up front about it.
But then when the danger happens it’s also right when they start dating - like they literally decided to the night before. And it would’ve packed a greater punch if there was more build up there, in my opinion.
But when they are together it’s cute and the epilogue gives a little peek of the future!
I do think it’s pretty low angst overall but there’s heavier issues that they probably need therapy or something for - his grief of his friend and bitterness about the town and her trauma with her ex, especially toward the end.
So overall not my favorite but it was a quick, ok monster romance for me!

The Billionaire Orc is the third book in the Motham City Monsters series and features Tor and Shona. Tor enlists Shona as his real estate agent and gets WAY more than he bargained for when he quickly realizes the attraction between them will not be pushed to the side. But Shona has someone dangerous after her and Tor is unsure of what kind of future he wants. Will these two work out what's in their heads and find themselves mated? Or are they doomed to be alone forever?
I loved being back with the Motham City Monsters. Tor is such a perfect package. He's sweet and caring, protective and a little obsessed and wonderfully dominant at the right times. Shona, despite being burned in the past, is sweet while also being guarded enough to protect herself.
This was fairly low angst and Lilith did a wonderful job at building tension between Tor and Shona before their first intimate encounter. The steam in here was sexy and full of passion and I adored that Tor and Shona had not only a beautiful friendship but also a beautiful romantic connection.
Even though I said it was a low angst read, there was enough happening with the plot that I was engaged and interested in their road to a HEA. Lilith has done a nice job at creating a unique and cute world about monsters that find their other halves in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Yet another great book in the series! I enjoyed seeing new parts of Motham City and learning about orc culture. The MCs were perfectly matched; their on-page chemistry was palpable! The humor I love about this author was there too. It's inevitable: I'll be coming back for more of Motham City Monsters :D
Lilith Stone has a talent for writing multifaceted plots with complex and relatable characters into short and sweet stories, and The Billionaire Orc is no exception. This is the third book in the Motham City Monsters series, which is an interconnected standalone collection of monster romance. This story was everything that I've come to love about this series, plus much more. Tor is an orc who has made his fortune after leaving Motham over a decade ago, and coming back to visit his family he meets Shona, a human realtor living in the heart of Motham City. Both career driven, that's where their similarities end, but they soon learn how perfectly they compliment each other. Tor is the perfect balance between protective and sweet, and Shona is so strong and independent but doesn't shy away from what she wants. The plot, which starts out cozy, takes a sharp high stakes turn and then makes it's way back to cozy, is very well done and fits together seamlessly. The gothic themed edge to the plot was such a surprise that I audibly gasped, and it worked so well for the story. What I love most about Motham City Monsters is how all the characters stories are interconnected, and this book in particular creates such a lovely feeling of found family. I am very much looking forward to the next installment in the series, and I wonder where in Motham we will find ourselves next.
Great fast paced and cosy romance in a series that fast becoming one of my favourites. I love this series by Lilith stone and the world she has created. Tor was so sweet to Shona and their relationship definitely came together slowly but perfectly! The acceptance both families had for the relationship and tor reconnecting with his family and sister’s partner added an extra bit of comfort to this book. We see different parts of Morgan city in each book world building is slow but interesting as we find out about each of the supernatural groups. Couldn’t suggest this book and series as a whole more to anyone who enjoys monster romances in a more modern setting without it being set in real world.

Did I stay up until midnight to finish this when I have to be at work at 4:45am tomorrow? Yes. And it was worth ittttt.
I’ve read every book in this series in one day, and I’ve loved all of them. Tor is a sweetheart with a dirty mouth, and I adore him!! And I was so happy to see Shona get her happy ending 🥹
I absolutely can’t wait to read Fake Dating the Dragon!!
I’ve liked Shona since we first met her in Mail-Order Minotaur and I am so glad she got her own HEA. She’s super relatable and likeable; the perfect combination of curious and cautious. Tor is a rags to riches story and you can feel the love he has for his family and the close relationship he has with his sister Katarina. Their banter is hilarious.
This story was darker than the last two, with a crazy, jealous vampire ex in the mix. It fits perfectly with the FMC’s backstory, and I am glad to see previous characters circle back around!
The Orc mating ceremony was so detailed and I loved every moment of it! The thoughtfulness that Stone put behind this tradition was wonderful, unique, and hilarious. I can’t wait for the next release, Fake Dating The Dragon!
Lilith Stone does it again with The Billionaire Orc! She has quickly become one of my favorite monster romance authors and I immediately signed up for an arc of this book, the third in the Motham City Monsters series, when it became available on BookSirens. Although the third in the series, this book can be read as a standalone, even with cameo appearances by previous characters.
Tor may have created a successful mining company on the other side of the mountain, but he still struggles with the effects of the bullying he endured as a child and the distance he put between his family and himself following the death of his best friend. Following his father's injury, he returns home to discover that his family needs more than money from him, and the realtor his assistant found for him just may be the answer to more than finding a suitable house.
Shona also comes from humble beginnings, escaped a traumatic past relationship, and has made a name for herself as the best realtor in Motham. A visit to Orc Island with Tor challenges everything she believed about her professionalism and inadvertently captured the attention of her ex.
Lilith Stone is a master at bringing serious issues to attention within a sweet monster romance. Bullying, toxic relationships, infertility, and exploitation of workers are topics in the Billionaire Orc. If you love fated mates, a rags to riches success story, and righting the wrongs of the past, this book is for you.
I had the opportunity to read an advance copy and am sharing my honest review voluntarily.
I'm really enjoying the Motham City Monsters series, human/monster romances and the world Lillth Stone has created.
In The Billionaire Orc, we meet Tor Arquin, an orc who left Motham City to get away from the mines and the general poor conditions his people lived in. He has made a success of his life and when he has to return to Motham City for family reasons, he is loath to do so not wanting to revisit the place he escaped from years before. I really liked Tor he is a sweet orc and though he wishes his parents lived in a nicer house and would use the money he gives them, he loves them and wants to do the right thing.
Shone Dove, a high-achieving realtor is the best in the business and since Tor only wants the best, Shona is the woman for the job. Their chemistry is instant, but Shona is determined to maintain professional boundaries, she also has scars from a past relationship with a vampire and isn't keen on getting into another relationship with a monster. I really liked Shona, she is sweet and cautious, but completely open-minded about monsters, excepting vampires and with good reason.
These two can't fight the chemistry between them or the mating bond that pulls at them both. I enjoyed all the sexy times between these two and knew they would be the perfect match for each other.
There are some tense times when a situation occurs later in the story but everything works out well.
I loved the ending and the mating ritual of orcs was fun as it was a roleplay situation rather than a true barbaric thing the way the human government liked to make orcs out to be.
I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Thoughts: Want to read the sweetest take on orc romance? The Billionaire Orc is here for you! Tor is so lovely and caring, proud of his heritage with a wish to help raise up all of his fellow orcs. He is a sweetheart with HOT, primal orc instincts! I really admired him and thought he was a great MMC.
Tor and Shona both have their past hurts but they’re empathetic characters with lots to offer each other. At times they’re both a bit speciesist, especially at first, which was occasionally difficult to sympathise or agree with. But as their journey goes on they overcome most of their previous issues and learn to put aside preconceptions of other Motham City residents.
More good news: we got to see a bit of both couples from the previous books! It was really nice to see everyone we know and love from books one and two doing well, although if you're picking up The Billionaire Orc as your intro to Motham City you'll cope fine without having read the previous books.
In terms of the drama, obviously I knew this was an HEA but it still had me genuinely worried and glued to the action, which is an achievement. And the spice, phew! Two words, mating ritual! I LOVED it. Hot AND adorable. I actually don’t think I’ve ever come across a scene quite like the mating ritual scene and it was brilliantly playful and very meaningful. Lilith really is a wonderful writer and I am a definite fan.
Motham City Monster Series from Lilith Stone is one of my favorite series from this past year and The Billionaire Orc is such a fun addition to the group.
We have Tor, the self-made billionaire orc, and Shona the human realtor who is amazing at what she does. Tor enlists the services of the best realtor in Motham City so he can buy a whole island (he's working through some things, let's say). That realtor is of course Shona, and the they are so into each other that they struggle to maintain a professional relationship from the start.
What do we get: 💚Orc Billionaire 💚Immediate Chemistry 💚One cave while stranded overnight on an island 💚Knotting! 💚My girl 💚Menses realness 💚Ex who can’t take a hint 💚Mate 💚Coming home again
I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a modern day monster/human world. Motham City has humans, vampires, orcs, gargoyles, minotaurs, wolf shifter, and more. There are cameos and callbacks to characters from previous books and I love how intertwined the stories are but they are still standalone books.
Thank you to Lilith Stone for the ARC. My thoughts/opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The Billionaire Orc by Lilith Stone is a good fit if you are looking for a light, steamy, billionaire orc romance set in a fantasy world. This is book 3 in the Motham City Monsters series and it was just as cozy and sexy as the others. I really love how Lilith builds each character and gives them a wonderful personality and background and makes you want to live in Motham with them.
Tor & Shona are immediately attracted to one another despite their initial reservations being from different species. He is a billionaire Orc looking to buy a property to come home and be near his aging parents and she is a savvy human realtor. They meet and the sparks start flying.
This is sweet and spicy and engaging. A quick little fun read that will leave you smiling and wanting to read more from this author.
I received an eARC to read for my honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author and bookSirens.
The Billionaire Orc by Lilith Stone is the third book in the Motham City series. This book does not need to be read after the first two, but some characters and situations are easier understood when read in order. I did read the other two first before reading this one.
Our FMC (Shona) is the human neighbor of Ivy from book one and the MMC (Tor) is older brother to Katrina, an orc employee of the gargoyle from book two. Not knowing this information won’t make this book unreadable.
As with the first two books, Stone relies on serious mental conditions and trauma as entertainment devices. It goes beyond popular tropes and word play (Motham… Gotham…), and saddles the characters with unresolved (and untreated) mental health conditions. The FMC is fresh out of an abusive relationship and the MMC is suffering from survivor’s guilt, two prominent examples, and the PTSD they each suffer from is clearly written into the drama but never responsibly addressed.
This is unacceptable, in my opinion. Stone multiplies this gross misuse by having the FMC essentially perpetrate a dub-con situation onto the MMC. He says “no” twice and she goes right ahead. The rest of the book frames this as she “seduced” him, and at the end Stone writes into her world an orc tradition that the female uses a cudgel to entice the male into a mating frenzy… physical violence (mild, though at one point it says she struck him hard enough to hurt) to add to the dub-con intercourse.
At 50% I almost DNF the book, but I finished this to be sure I fully understood if the writing is intentional or just unfortunate. I don’t recommend this, or even the first two. The author gets more blatant as the series progresses, downplaying real issues as cheap entertainment devices, and I won’t be reading any more from her.
Omg this book was everything and more! I’ve been such a fan of this series since Mail Order Minotaur and this did NOT disappoint!
Absolutely adored that Shona got her HEA and with the hottest orc anyone could dream of! Tor is perfection. Like genuinely, his character is just divine. He is so caring, protective, understanding, and has such a dirty mouth I was blushinggggg. Shona is truly living the dream! And so is Tor because Shona is such a slay - she’s independent, confident, STUNNING, and has such a big heart!
This was fairly low angst, high heat/spice, good plot with some intense moments, and a gorgeous love story! Will definitely be rereading x
This one was yet another quick and easy read. This one definitely felt like it had a bit more of a plot to it, as well as the character driven aspects. The characters are lovable and you can definitely relate to them. Definitely had some spicy scenes in there, please check the warnings before going into this book as some more tough topics are discussed. Overall an enjoyable read that I would recommend if you wanted something new and fast to read.
Last read of 2023 and what a great way to end the year. She did it again! Another engaging sweet love story with just enough spice. I love that we get a glimpse into the characters lives from the previous books in the series. I can honestly say, I'll never look at an Orc in the same way. I need these all to come out in a movie series. I again, cannot wait for the next book to come out.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you @lilithstoneromance and @booksirens for the opportunity.
I really liked this book! It's both a cozy and spicy romance.
Tor is an orc billionaire who is looking for a home closer to his aging parents. Shona is the best realtor in Motham city and is hired to help him find his new home. The two have instant chemistry and try to deny their feelings, but soon realize they just can't!
This book was great! Yes, I am partial to monster romances, but this one felt different because of the world building. It gave some helpful context into how our monster MMC, Tor, and our human FMC, Shona, are regarded differently in their world. I highly recommend this book to my fellow monster romance lovers and anyone who loves to read about knots lol. A+ and 5 stars from me!
I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adore this series and this installment was no exception. Despite having some tropes I don't normally enjoy, I really enjoyed this story.
Our MMC is a self-made billionaire who made his own way in the world after leaving home with nothing but what he could fit in his pack. Through the kindness he received from a few others, he was able to strike it rich seemingly overnight. Despite the fact that he's a billionaire who grew up dirt poor Tor doesn't try to use his money to intimidate others and offers many times to care for his family's every want and need. He does live well but he's not an insufferable prick about it.
Our FMC had a rough start but after a lucky break, some hard work, and a knack for the business she is able to establish a thriving real estate business in Motham as a human. After her escape from a dangerous and abusive vampire, Shona doesn't give much thought to dating much less dating an orc.
After a meeting up to discuss Tor's purchase of a home in Motham to be closer to his aging parents and sister, the 2 of them are obsessed with one another and refuse to acknowledge their feelings due to the professional nature of their relationship. Until they get stuck on the island Tor wants to buy overnight. One thrilling night in a cave later and they're more obsessed than ever before. Tor can't think about much else than her and getting her pregnant. She can't stop thinking about his amazing body, the feeling of security, and of course his amazing dick.
In one another they find everything they were never looking for but absolutely needed.
I particularly loved that both characters acknowledge the privileges that allowed both of them to succeed.
My criticisms are that the author's note in the beginning mentions that this book is written with a more American speech pattern, but there were a few things that are not parts of American vernacular such as the mention of sherbert candies, the term plaster instead of cast, and the word shonky. While these weren't something that was impossible to determine the meanings of, when I came across them my brain said "we don't say that here". Had the note in the beginning not mentioned the speech pattern I wouldn't have ever taken notice of these things, but once it was mentioned I wasn't able to let it go.
The other thing that gave me pause here and there was that there really was a vilification of vampires as a whole by Tor in particular. At one point he does acknowledge that he needs to do better but the only effort he seems to make is toward his sister in law who is a vampire. I would have liked to see more character development from him in this particular regard.
Just lazy writing. Shona makes it clear she's not attracted to Tor, then the next chapter she's fantasizing about him going down on her 🙄🙄 literally nothing happened to justify a change in her perception, it's just fucking lazy smut taking the place of actual plot. Then the ridiculous conversation where Shona asks Ivy "what species you could see me with" which is just a fucking weird question to begin with and definitely not how people go about finding someone to date, and she just magically guesses "what about an orc sweeping you off your feet?" which of course means Shona has to tell her friend about the orc she totally coincidentally just met. It's just sooo fucking lazy and not at all how real people talk.
And the entire idea that a literal billionaire wanting to buy something that isn't for sale, or wanting to buy an island, is a ridiculous request is just fucking stupid. People make offers on property that isn't listed for sale all of the time. And she's complaining about having to do research to find out who owns the island? That's literally your fucking job.
Also, all of the traditional stuff in this one is just weird. In the first book all they talk about is how repressed the human towns are and how Motham city is so much more progressive. And now we're dealing with homophobia and smothering traditions.
Oh my goddddd tell me this isn't a pregnancy plot 🙄🙄 and I'm sooo tired of plots being held up by adults being cowards and refusing to talk about their feelings. The "I can't sleep with my client" excuse is overdone, it's not like realtors have a code of ethics that forbids them 🙄🙄 and besides, you already fucked him, the cat is out of the bag.
Thanks to Lilith and BookSirens for the arc of the latest installment of Motham Monters!
The Billionaire Orc is book 3 based in Motham City and another excellent read full of heart and heat. We meet Shona a really lovely human who is a successful realtor in Motham City and Tor the very sexy billionaire orc from over the mountains who's roots lie in the industrial area of Motham. House hunting, increased attraction, a secluded island, Orc history and lore, a creepy vampire ex, the Great War info and some dark action make this latest addition a win!
I really love how Lilith builds up the world and lore of Motham, intrigrating previous characters and snippets of those to come! No sooner does she mention the dragon transport mogul and krakens living just off the coast then I'm getting excited thinking of her bringing these characters to life further down the road! I like the sprinkling of darkness that Lilith adds to her characters and the world they live in, they're still fluffy and sweet and have the guaranteed HEA, but they're more realistic and gritty.
The Billionaire Orc is a bit darker than the previous with a high action scene that was creepy and excellent. Well written with the spicey scenes getting better everytime, Motham City is a firm favourite and I'll read everything Lilith wants to share.

The Billionaire Orc continues Lilith Stone's Motham City Monsters series, with the story of Shona, a human realtor and Tor, a billionaire businessman, who happens to be an orc. Tor wants to buy a house in Motham City, the hometown he ran away from years ago to escape what he saw as a bleak future. Shona has moved to Motham City and developed a successful real estate business of her own. When Tor decides to buy a house in his hometown, he wants the best realtor in town. That's how he and Shona meet. What starts as a business relationship develops into attraction. Neither of them can deny it, but both are hesitant. Tor believes Shona would never want to be with an orc because of the species' historic reputation as being brutish and rough. However, Shona only sees the beauty, intelligence, and gentleness in him and soon realizes everything she has known of orcs is exaggerated and downright wrong. Shona's last serious relationship was with a manipulative and controlling vampire. She is reluctant to commit to another person completely for fear of getting hurt again. Tor only wants to protect and make her happy. He's willing to bring regret to anyone who would cause Shona pain. They figure out how to maneuver through their new feelings and soon realize they not only love each other but need each other. I'm always amazed at how invested I become in the relationships between these "monsters" and their humans. I love this series and look forward to reading the next one.
The Motham City Monsters just keep getting better and better! I received this book as an ARC read for my free unbiased opinion. I had read one other book by Lilith Stone before this one and she is quickly becoming an automatic buy/read author for me!
This story follows Shona Dove and Tor Arquin. Tor Arquin is a self-made billionaire who lives outside the wall of Motham City, trying to separate himself from his past and his lower class upbringing. When his father is injured at home, his sister, Katrina, quickly reminds him of his duties to family and urges him to come home. It is during this decision to return to his roots that he asks his PA to set up an appointment with the city's best realtor to find a house to buy. And here enters Shona Dove - beautiful human, best realtor extraordinaire and recovering woman from a bad relationship with a vampire.
Shona's skills are quickly put to the test when Tor decides he doesn't want just any bougie house, he wants an island! This goal of his puts them in close proximity and has them fighting to control their attraction to each other. Take this volatile situation and throw in a blast from Shona's past and you have one amazing read full of angst, spice, and touch her and die feels! I highly recommend this book! 5/5 stars and 4/5 chili peppers...cannot wait for the next book!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Coming back to Motham City is like a breath of fresh air. I adore the world Lilith Stone has created and fall more in love with every page. The Billionaire Orc follows Shona, who you might recognize from previous books as Ivy's neighbor turned best friend. Shona is a realtor and some might say the best realtor in Motham. She receives a call from a mysterious billionaire client named Tor who needs the best realtor in the city to help him buy the perfect home.
I'm obsessed with the world, it's history, and of course the monsters! This book focuses more on orc history and culture which I found very interesting and well thought out. Tor's been away from his family for a long time making his fortune across the mountains and has decided to come back home more often to spend time with his aging parents and sister. We love a family man! The side characters were great additions to the story. Katrina and her wife are the cutest! Can we get a book about them, or a story? I want to know how they fell in love too!
Then there's are wonderful couple, the whole reason we're here is to see their love story and it did not disappoint! This is my favorite in the series so far. There are so many things to love. We've got a boss employee/dynamic, forced proximity, knotting, instalust, size difference, mates, mating rituals, and so much more. I couldn't put it down!
I've loved every character more and more with each new Motham City Monsters book, and Shona and Tor are no exception. I can't say for sure that I've ever read an orc romance before, but Lilith Stone sure opened my eyes to new possibilities in monster romance.
I love a good workplace romance, and with Shona working as Tor's realtor, this story essentially became an office romance with endless location possibilities. At its core, though, this sweet and spicy romance was about finding home, both within a location as well as with your person. I loved that both main characters were able to find their place in Motham City, a place where both Shona and Tor were decidedly "other." For Shona, finding success as a realtor meant escaping her past (and her past relationship troubles). For Tor, his return to Motham after striking it rich elsewhere allowed him to see that home is who you keep close and not the walls you build around you.
Stone beautifully paints a picture of what home truly means throughout Tor and Shona's romance, all while giving readers a good amount of spice. Stone's monster romances aren't what I'd consider over the top in terms of graphic detail, but readers definitely get to know the orc anatomy quite well in this story. The more I read of the Motham City Monsters, the more I appreciate the reoccurring themes of what makes someone a monster, even in a city full of them.
The Billionaire Orc was on the shorter side, at a little over two hundred pages, but Stone puts a lot of heart and self-discovery within these chapters. I thought Shona and Tor had a great foundation from start to finish, and I loved the little cameos from the first two books. Stone has effortlessly tied her series together with great writing, entertaining plots, and engaging characters. I can't wait to see what comes next for the citizens of Motham City!
