I have no way of putting this into words apart from it's incredibly fucked up but so damn good. This whole story screams trigger warning as it's based on a girl who was kept as a prisoner by a serial killer and I swear to god, there is so much depth to this story that I can't stop reading. It’s been a while since I immediately jumped into the next book and I did so with book 2 and 3.

Book 1 (as above) was fucking phenomenal idgaf and was my second 5⭐ star for 2025 and making it even better was that it's book one to the trilogy which always gets me excited!!

Book 2 was a 4⭐️ because as much as I loved it, I feel like there was just to much back and forth with how the MMC went about things and that JR only did it for the sake of dragging the story out, which annoyed the fuck out me.

Book 3 was another 5⭐️ and despite feeling similar to the back and forth throughout this one, there was more to it which made everything make sense. Whilst the capture of Michael didn’t hit like I thought it would have, the way everything ended did.

I think their story overall was beautiful and as my very first time reading J Rose, it was one hell of a fucking read 🔥🔥

I will be honest by saying I didn't read much about this before jumping into it as I thought it was just a RH with a thriller vibe to it but IT IS SO MUCH MORE THEN THAT and I promise you its worth it!!

SIDE NOTE: Read the Blackwood Institute Series first as they are heavily involved throughout this story.

There is something about dark romances with a religious twist that draws me in. I find them so fascinating to read and can never put them down.

The Sabre Security Trilogy blew me away with its dark religious themes and all the mystery surrounding the storyline. The conflicts were epic and had me sitting on the edge of my seat, holding my breath because of how tense things were.

I adored the female lead Harlow and loved watching her grow as a person after being locked in a cage for 13 years. Watching her relationship with Hunter, Theo, Leigh, and Enzo grow into a beautiful love story was enchanting to read about.

The twists and turns that Sabre Security contains truly show how amazing of an author J Rose is. She is a master at writing dark romances and romances that bring out every emotion. Words will never be able to express how much love I have for this series. I can't wait to get this series in paperback to add it to my collection.

5 Stars!
From start to finish.....I👏was👏captivated👏! I thought this was going to be a gritty dark romance...I didn't expect a dark romance, why choose, that is basically an episode of dateline. It did not dissapoint. The characters are well written and have their own growth throughout the series. Definitely check trigger warnings as it deals with crime and crime scenes.

🇬🇧 I totally fell into J. Rose’s pyramid scheme with Blackwood Institute (which I absolutely loved, obviously). And this spin-off? It delivered.

After meeting Hunter, Enzo, and Theo, I was dying to know more about how they’d deal with the grief from BI and somehow open up again — let alone become part of a new harem. And honestly? I was surprised in the best way.

Let’s be real: J. Rose is a shining example of how reverse harem books can have strong plots, well-developed characters, emotional weight, and yes, smut — but not just smut. This series is full of slow burn, deep trauma, strong bonds and layered growth. Scars don’t vanish just because people fall in love. These characters carry them. And it hurts. And it’s so good.

Harlow’s story starts off both heartbreaking and confusing — she spent 13 years in captivity, after all. But by book three, she’s blossomed. Her insecurities give way to courage, and she becomes a total badass. I loved seeing her grow, especially through the friendship with Brooklin — such an unexpected and beautiful bond.

And speaking of beautiful… the boys.
Hunter — unexpectedly soft and fiercely protective.
Enzo — a war machine wrapped in teddy bear fluff.
Theo — our silent, brilliant, swoon-worthy nerd.
Leighton — the perfect addition, chaotic and grounding all at once.

Their relationships developed so naturally and I was screaming at the tension (and the spice 😏). There’s space for group moments and for each character to shine on their own — and every arc felt complete.

But I need to give a full standing ovation to the Cobra Team.
Brooklin saving the day. Jude being Jude (aka incredible). Phoenix and Eli? Sweethearts. Kade and Hudson? Rocks of support. Watching their stories continue, even in the background, was so heartwarming. I missed them so much. And now? I’m officially OBSESSED. I hope they never stop showing up. Interconnected series supremacy!

In short: this trilogy gave me everything.
Emotion. Trauma. Healing. Found family. Smut. Mystery. Growth. Love.
And now that it’s over, all I can say is: J. Rose has taken her place as my ultimate RH queen.
No criticisms allowed. I’m all in.
Bring on the next one.

E este spin-off? Superou todas as expectativas.

Perfeitos.
Hunter — protetor e surpreendentemente carinhoso.

A Brooklin a salvar o dia. Estou completamente OBCECADA. Espero que nunca deixem de aparecer.

Resumindo: esta trilogia deu-me tudo.
Emoção. Trauma. Cura. Found family. Spice. Mistério. Crescimento. Amor.

*Book Review for The Sabre Security Trilogy* by J. Rose📚📚

When I started this book, I knew it'd be something, but I didn't expect this!!!!!

Do I start from the fact that this book is about a girl who suffers at the hands of an egoistic religious fanatic, or about her love life, or her warped-up family tree? Where exactly do I start from?

Imagine bumbling through the bush and—boom—they kidnap you. A very valid fear, if you ask me. But anyways, that happened—she was taken, and then she was made to watch as other women were molested and killed by a self-proclaimed weapon/man of God.

I was very tired while I read this book. I know I shouldn't be pissed at characters, but I was. But then again, *she was just a girl in a cage, doing not alright, and then she escaped overnight. Now she had to learn how to do it right. So much to learn and see. She's now living in the house with her new family, a bunch of men that are hot as sin. A whole new exciting world is waiting for her... She's not so excited to be coddled by themmmmm* (to be sung in Sofia the First voice).
This book has themes of rape, religious violence, distortion of the Bible, self-harm, manipulation/gaslighting, love, death, hate, and many other themes you have to check out for yourself.

Have I mentioned how much I love bildungsromans???? The whole idea of someone bettering themselves is just so beautiful that I smile anytime I see the word. The female main character was bildungsroman come to life, and I am so happy with how much she grew.

Of course, there's smut, but trust me, the plot is much more interesting.

This book is an 8/10, but if you are not comfortable with reverse harems, you can skip the smut scenes and focus on their relationships and the points of view scattered throughout the book.

Ciao,
Bookyopath.

You should definitely read Blackwood Institution before this as there are many characters and event references from the first trilogy. The two series are beautifully interwoven.

Harlow, the FMC, is a broken, confused, and scarred woman. She doesn't know who she is, or anything of the outside world until she meets the Sabre Security team after her daring escape. She begins to learn, while struggling to survive and cope with the immense trauma she's endured. She finds an amazing and quick friend with Brooklyn (Blackwood Institute) and her guys.

The security team she's placed with consists of Hunter, Enzo, Leighton, and Theo, our MMCs. They're haunted by memories of their past (Blackwood Institute event), and aren't nearly as close as they used to be, just trying to cope the best they can. Then Harlow drops into their laps, and they start learning to live again, not just survive.

Watching the struggles of the characters was heartbreaking, but so necessary. The way their relationships bloomed into beautiful, protective (and possessive) inferno of love was fantastic. The snarky banter, the laughs, the tears, it was everything.

Sabre Security is dark, gruesome, and will have you mentally screaming, but it'll be worth it.

4.75⭐️

What a good book! I loved the dynamic between all the characters! I also loved seeing more of the characters from Blackwood Institute, how frickin wholesome!!

I recently read Forever Ago by J Rose and seeing the little detail of mentioning the characters from that was amazing!!!

My only negative is I wish I saw more one on one intimate time between Harlow and Hunter, I feel like he deserved it and ended up being the only one who didn’t have a private scene with her.

But what a whirlwind of a book!

Not sure how to review this series. I kinda knew what to expect, as my daughter recommended I read it.
The story line was incredible, like a story out of criminal minds. Sure there were some horrific scenes throughout the 3 books, but I couldn't put it down. Some of the explicit scenes were a bit much, but I guess was needed due to content of the stories.
My favorite character was Theo and of course Harlow, but all the characters were very well written.
I would recommend this book, but just know the triggers that it could bring.

4.5/5🌟 Really enjoyed this trilogy. Such great characters and a lot of action to keep you on your toes through each book. The relationship between the characters did take me a bit to connect with but it really all came together in the end. I am also very particular about my RH books i like when the men have relationships together also that was the only thing missing for me. I highly recommend this series if we you are in need of a harrowing high action trilogy!

What a ride. Just like the Blackwood Institute trilogy, I loved every minute of this. Loved the characters and their development. I’m sad to see these characters go but I’m happy they finally got their happy ending because they deserve it after everything. And of course loved the cameo of Brooklyn and her guys. This was everything. Thanks J. Rose for another incredible story. Can’t wait to read Willow’s story!

My favorite of all the J Rose books I have read. The Sabre Security series follows a young woman who has escaped from a serial killer that's kept her in captivity since she was a young child. These men need her to find clues to hunt this vicious murderer down, but unlocking the secrets buried in her mind requires getting close and gaining her trust. Not an easy task for any of them. Time is running out as we go on one heck of a mental health journey.

So, I liked this!! Love j rose’s writing! However I didn’t like it as much as Blackwood institute. We didn’t get quite as much insight on the characters and their personalities apart from Harlow like we did in BI. With that being said it was extremely powerful and really sad at times. Definitely one that you need to check the TW before reading. And I think the book would have been 5 stars if I got some ⚔️….

It's a really dark why choose romance omnibus. Despite its darker theme it is a thrilling, well written story with twists after twists. Our heroin grows through the story and she is not a useless damsel in distress. Not only her but the boys are facing life changing challenges and all the characters are growing together all the way to the end.

I did go into a reading slump in the middle of this book but I think it was because of how much I was reading before and I just needed a break.

I actually don’t know how someone could go through as much as Harlow did and still be the way she is. Probably one of the strongest female characters mentally and I loved watching her journey of just herself along with the guys and their journey.

I cannot get enough of this authors work. Incredibly well written. Have spent 4 days reading the entire works of the author. Truly obsessed. Super dark Twisted story with so many unexpected twists. Not too smutty for the style of book beautifully balanced shows you in depth details of each of the FMC's relationship with the MMC's. Honestly Incredible !!!

“People don’t always want the truth-especially not if it’s ugly. But if I don’t tell it, I know I’ll always live with regret. To burn or not to burn. The choice is mine.”

Harlow’s story was devastating and I loved every gut-wrenching part. Brooke and her boys being a part of the story made it even better.

Have your tissues ready when you read this trilogy and a fifth of whiskey. The author really did a great job of pulling you end and making you feel like you were right there living it. The bonus scenes were really enjoyed. Fantastic book.
