I haven't pretended to be my twin in years, not since we were kids, oh, and once in college.

We looked more alike then, and it was easy and fun to fool everyone. Now we're adults and chalk and cheese in appearance, temperament, and character, but my sister needs me to cover for her at work while she heals from a broken heart.
And there is no way I'm saying no to her when she is this down and out.

Won't your boss notice?" I ask her.
"Not even if you arrived in a bikini," she assures me.

So I agree to pretend to be her.

Reluctantly, I also agree to drown myself in her insipid clothes, and take her place as PA to her charmless, saintly boss, Lucien Montgomery.

Well, her description made him seem quite charmless and he did sound that way on the phone too, but I'm in for a rude shock when I meet him in person. My sister never said he had the kind of looks you read about in a fantasy romance novel. Tall, broad and dashing. Hell, the man is like a live panther, with blazing blue eyes that miss nothing.

I've only just got here and I'm already asking myself, how long can I carry on with this pretense?

Not long... especially considering I'm not wearing a bikini, but he's very clearly noticing all kinds of unsaintly things about my body.

Ugh! This book really needs editing and the “however’s” need to seriously be combed through.
The writing was redundant and the FMC and MMC both have a more juvenile inner monologue than they should for their age.
There’s random errors where it’s like the author forgot what she wrote or changed it and it leaves you feeling confused.

The main storyline was really intriguing, but I just couldn’t finish this with all of that going on. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

The first red flag was the spelling error a couple of pages in .This book was truly awful. The repetitive phrases where so cringe, I really hate when an author is so lazy they can't find a better way to articulate themselves. All round bad grammar THEN the inconsistencies - there were so many things that didn't add up. There is a part where she's wearing a pant suit but then she's removing her dress? Then the twins swap phones however the author seems to forget this part eg the other twin had to find a phone number to send to her when it would already be in the contacts as the OG assistant?? When they're in London her friend doesn't flinch when she introduces herself as her twin and no where in their interaction did she mention this swap ( roughly where I DNF). arghh this book is badly written, pitty because the storyline works.

Because I'm petty I looked up how many times the word "however" appears in this 368 page book - 242 times (roughly appearing once per page ). Safe to say there's a 65% chance you'll find this word on any page you open.

Good despite the actual writing?

3.5 stars rounded up.

I’ll get straight to it. The writing is bad. It’s all over the place, repetitive, the sentences/paragraphs aren’t structured correctly, some words are even used incorrectly. However, I liked this book lol. With all its flaws (and there are MANY including character inconsistencies and a childish ML who holds things back just because he feels like it) the story was gripping. Seriously, I couldn’t put it down. I had to know when and how he was going to discover the twin swap!

This my second Iona Rose book, if you can get past the bad writing there are some good stories there.

I enjoyed this book. The story had some cuteness to it and the characters were quite likable. Scarlett and Lucien had great chemistry and I could feel the sparks from the very moment they met. Add in some solid heartstring tugging and tension and you have a very entertaining romance.

Iona Rose has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Scarlett and Lucien. Scarlett gets talked into taking her twin sister Sophie's place at work because her fiance Jared has called off their wedding and she needs some time away from things. Sophie doesn't want to mess things up for Lucien, her boss, and the big meeting he has scheduled. It takes Sophie a little while to get Scarlett to agree to help her out. Things do not go well for Scarlett (Sophie) on her first day. She screws up a few things. Lucien is worried about Sophie since she has never messed up in the three years she has been his assistant. He is shocked to see Sophie when she walks into his office. He thinks there is something different about her but can't put his finger on what it is. He wonders why he never saw her as he is seeing her now. He is attracted to her now but knows that she is engaged. He has a meeting later that evening and goes over the things he wants to talk about. He wants the files from Sophie and when she gets them to him, they are not right. She has forgot to do the voice's with the file. He has her go with him so that she can work on it on the way. Things go fine at the meeting. Later he has a meeting with Charles Lioly but on the way, Sophie gets a call saying that Charles has cancelled the meeting because he was going to London. Lucien decides that he will go to London to meet with Charles since it has taken so long to get the meeting with him. Lucien tells Sophie to make the arrangements and that she is going with him. Scarlett (Sophie) is worried about going to London with Lucien. She calls her sister to find out what to do. Scarlett gets the things that they will need for the trip. She meets him at the airport. Lucien finds it hard to not have Sophie since she told him about her breakup. While in London, they end up sleeping together with Lucien thinking that it is Sophie. Scarlett knows she has messed up because she knows things with Lucien can't go anywhere when Sophie (Scarlett) goes back to work. He will know something is different. The meeting that Lucien has with Charles Nioly goes well and he gets the contract. Lucien wants to continue seeing Sophie when they get back home and what he says to her comes out wrong. She tells him that she will have to think about it. Lucien meets with Gregory, an employee for Charles and he is attracted to Sophie (Scarlett). He wants to take her out but she doesn't like him. Somehow Gregory finds out that Scarlett has slept with Lucien and he threatens her with the information, telling her that if she doesn't go out with him he will let it be known and it could hurt Lucien. Lucien knows that Gregory has said something to Sophie by the way she is acting around him. He has his security guy check the video to see if Gregory talked to Sophie at the meeting. When it is confirmed, he wants Sophie watched. Scarlett knows that she can't continue to see Lucien so she asks if she can take some time off. Her week is almost up so she decides to just go ahead and leave. Lucien's security guy finds out that Sophie has a twin sister and things begin to go into place. He is mad when he finds out about what they have done to him. After Scarlett leaves Lucien, she doesn't answer his calls. When he finds out that Sophie is her sister, he wants to talk to her. When they meet, he finds out the reason for what they did and Sophie takes the blame for it all. He tells her that he will let her know what he decides to do about her. Scarlett begins to get sick and she is late so she takes a pregnancy test and it comes back positive. Sophie and Jared have made up and are getting married. It is the day of the wedding and Scarlett is told that Lucien will be there. She is not happy that he will be there but she knows she has to let him know about the baby. After the wedding, she goes up to him and tells him that she is pregnant and that she doesn't expect anything from him. She doesn't give him a chance to say anything to her as she walks away from him.
Will Scarlett and Lucien get back together?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Although the sisters had done a switch in long time and their appearance looks completely different because Scarlett hair is black and she wears it in a bob, while Sophia wears hers in a bun. Scarlett is also on the the curvier side and dresses provocative. Sophia is slim and dresses a little more button up. However, that didn't stopped her from asking her sister to switching roles for a week because she just couldn't deal with a demanding job and a breakup at same time. Since Scarlett works as a freelancer she agrees to help her sister. For three years Lucien has worked with Sophia and he never noticed her as an attracted woman. As soon as Scarlett came she woke up his libido. He couldn't put his finger on it but he know that something was different about her, when she made a mistake and he saw the fire in her eyes further led to believe that she was different even though she had the same face.
Lucien found that Sophia had broken up with her fiance. Their business venture Charles took them to London. After a successful business deal they went to dinner Lucien was so turned on that he was going crazy so he decided to make her a proposition of a night to get her out of his system. However, it was a big mistake on both of their parts because they started catching feelings and one night wasn't enough. Things started to get complicated when their London business liaison wants Scarlett and threatened sabotage Lucien business as well as destroy his reputation. And when the truth comes out about the switch their will be hurt and loss of trust.

Playing with Fire

Lucien the young CEO, is a complete package. He's a handsome billionaire, built like a Greek god, very smart & is every woman's dream man. When his personal assistant, Sophie is emotionally distraught with her fiance pausing their wedding plans, her twin sister, Scarlett has her arm twisted to fill in as Lucien's PA for a week. Let the games begin as Lucien notices changes in his PA but Scarlett has answers for everything & he hasn't caught on Scarlett is filling in. He is very attracted to the new "Sophie" & they have a one-nighter together. When they return back from their business trip in Italy, going back to business-only is not working out. Their few days together are getting more complicated. When the truth is uncovered, everything is unraveled with a HEA not on the table. Changes are in the wind though and these two people need to search in their hearts as to whether it's love or lust they feel for the other.

I found this novel to be irresistible. I couldn't stop reading! Expect the hotness to continue throughout in each chapter right to the ending! Better snap up this novel as it's a doozy & a winner in my opinion!

When Scarlett's sister's fiancé takes a break from their relationship after his mother's death it has her sister spiraling emotionally. Sophie is the personal assistant of Lucien and didn't want to lose her job, so she asks her sister Scarlett to be pretend to be her for a week. Lucien notices a difference in his assistant the moment she walks in however, when she explains why she has made some mistakes because of her relationship ending he just puts it down to that. Scarlett is attracted to Lucien and tries to fight it but once he makes a move while they are away for business, she knows she can't fight it anymore. Sophie worries about what her sister is doing but is talking with her man about where they stand relationship wise. Things get very complicated when Lucien and Scarlett start seeing each other outside the office. What will he do if he finds out about their trick? Can they find a way to be together?

This is an amazing story that will hook you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Scarlett agrees to help her twin sister, Sophie, who needs to take some time off her job because her wedding was called off by the groom to be. Sophie is the personal assistant to Lucien. Lucien has a major project going on so Sophie needs Scarlett to take her place for a week while she takes some time for herself. Lucien is instantly attracted to Scarlett, thinking she’s Sophie, and can’t figure out why. This book was fairly good, but some parts weren’t well written. The author seemed to have a hard time getting her thoughts together at times. I did like the chemistry between the main characters. Sophie and Scarlett are opposites and it was fun reading about how they worked together to help Lucien. Lucien and Scarlett made a great couple. I enjoyed this book and recommend it. It’s not the typical wrong twin romance.

I thought thus book was an excellent five star full length romance. The characters were well drawn and each personality worked to make the plot fantastic. Lucien was a young self-made billionaire who had no time for anything beyond his business. Sophie promised Scarlet that he'd never notice that Scarlet came to work in her place. But he sure noticed Sophie had changed: her hair, her figure, and her personality. But he chalked the changes up to her fiance leaving her just weeks before their wedding. First day on the job and the potential new client Sophie was worried about didn't show and Scarlet is having to gather passports, schedule pilots and planes, packing for herself and her boss! They're off for London. Lucien's noticing of Scarlet goes to depths that Scarlet can't refuse! This book has many feels in a short time period easily earning five stars!

I enjoyed this book at the beginning, however Scarlett was just insufferably selfish by the end. Her inner monologue was all about ensuring her sister, Sophie, didn't lose her job over the choices she was making, and then she turned around and made the absolute worst possible choices that were guaranteed to blow up in everyone's faces. By the end, every time Scarlett said that causing Sophie to lose her job was out of the question, or insinuating that she wasn't being reckless with her sister's career and other personal relationships, I wanted to throw the book across the room because it was so clear that either she was gaslighting herself or the authors were trying to gaslight the readers into not completely despising her. I struggled to finish it because, by the end, Scarlett was just so off-putting.

The smut was top-tier, though, so I'm giving it 2 stars.

When Scarlett's twin wants her to switch places and pretend she is her sister at work, Scarlett isn't sure it is a good idea. While the twins are identical, Scarlett is a bit more open about who she is, she has sass, wears clothes to accent her curves while her sister is more conservative. Meeting the boss though creates a problem because there is intense chemistry and ha the boss looking at Scarlett twice.

Lucien Montgomery is a no nonsense man and he has never had problems with his PA, until now. He can't put his finger on it but suddenly he is watching her and the urge to be with her is pushing him hard. What happens when he figures out not everything is what it seems with his PA?

This was fun, a bit predictable but I was entertained through out the story. Great chemistry between Lucien and Scarlett. Will check out more from this author.

Scarlet and Sophie were identical twins and did a few identity swaps when they were much younger. Sophie is devastated after her long time fiancé calls off their wedding. She asks her twin Scarlet to assume her job for a week while she gets her act together. She's a PA for Lucien who she says is 'charmless'. Lucien is slow to figure out why he is all of a sudden attracted to his PA Sophie (Scarlet). And Scarlet can't understand why her sister thought he was charmless, as she thinks he's the most gorgeous man she's seen. A little steam, a little drama and a lot of fun. Fantastic Work Place Twin Swap romance!

Scarlett’s twin Sophie is dumped by her fiancé. To help Sophie recover from the heartbreak, Scarlett agrees to impersonate her twin at work. Alpha CEO Lucien has been working with his personal assistant Sophie for 3 years now and can’t figure out what is different about her that gives the sexy vibe. During a business trip, they agree on a one-night stand. After they get back to the office, the attraction between them is still there. Lucien wants to continue their affair in private, but Scarlett knows the jig is up with the impersonation. Scarlett also attracts a creepy character from that client during the business trip. The creep follows them back and blackmails Scarlett for sexual favor. It adds a hint of danger. I enjoy this office romance with twin sisters trick.

She tells Scarlett not to worry about Lucien he won't notice the difference.
When Scarlett meets Lucien the attraction between them is instant.
Lucien has never paid much attention to his PA,but he notices a change in her and wants to get to know her better.
Will Scarlett and Sophie get away with fooling Lucien and what will happen if he finds out.
A really great romance could not put it down.It had romance,steam,laughter,banter,
family bonds,all the emotions and a very well deserved happily ever after.

I think I liked it? Hah. Yeah, I know. That sounds super decisive, but I'm not sure how to rate this. The entertainment factor was actually pretty good. Pacing was good. It kept me interested. The premise was interesting. This is a trope that I haven't seen in a while, so (for me) that was kind of nice. The characters were not my favorite. Lucien was not exactly the best guy in the world. Sophie p!$$ed me off the whole entire time. Scarlett was the one carrying the entire book. However, it was nice to see a slight change in the CEO/secretary trope from the "I accidently slept with a guy who is now my new boss" or "my boss is so grumpy but it's secretly hot" that I found it refreshing.

Scarlett is just standing in to help her sister, she didn't expect the attraction she feels for her sister's boss (Lucien). She has promise her sister (Sophie) that she won't seduce her boss, but he is so tempting. Can she keep her promise? Lucien can't quite understand why he is feeling different about Sophie, she seems to be acting different. What will Lucien do if he figures out that Sophie has switched with her twin Scarlett? I liked the fun of Sophie and Scarlett doing the switch (the drama it causes), the chemistry between Scarlett and Lucien, and how Scarlett and Lucien's story plays out.

Lucian and Scarlett. Hes the grumpy boss and she is taking her twins place at work. Theres a big meeting coming up and Sophia doesnt want to mess it up for her boss she being in a funck because her boyfriend called off their wedding. Scarlett finally says yes and she makes mistakes in the first couple days which had Lucian worried because she, Sophia, never makes mistakes. When Scarlett, Sophia, goes to his office he immediatlly sees shes off something different about her. He sees her like he has never seen her. Loved this book and the charecters.

This is a great read.
Sophie is a personal assistant to a demanding boss so when her personal life is falling apart she asks her twin sister Scarlett to stand in for her.
Lucien has never felt anything for his assistant before but now there is something different about her and he can't stop thinking about her.
While away overnight on business they can't stay away from each other and vow to have just one night together.
The chemistry is still there when they return to the office but can they stay away from each other.
What happens when he learns the truth?
A brilliant ending.

An amazing story. When Scarletts twins boyfriend breaks up with her just before the wedding, Sophie cinvinces Scarlett to take her place as she did not want to let her boss down while they were pursuing an important client. One look at Scarlett and Lucien knows somethings different, but Scarlett manages to appease him. But now Lucien wants her and as Scarlett is posing as Sophie, Scarlett is reluctant. But the chemistry between them is hot, so she gives in. Wgat happens when Sophie comes back to work? Will Lucien forgive them their lies? Loved reading their story. Thanx.

Iona surely knows how to gives us a sexy alpha male and a lovely heroine that will bring him to his knees. Scarlett and Lucien are funny, have chemistry and know how to bring on the heat. It all begins when Scarlett takes the place of her twin sister at her place of employment. As soon as Scarlett appears in her sister's place Lucien is taken with her in a way that he never felt, and he is not sure why but soon the clues begin to appear, and the time soon comes where she must come clean. This couple has great chemistry, fun banter and are sizzling off the pages. What happens when the truth comes out, you will have to pick up your copy to see!!!

When Sophie’s fiancée walks out on her, she needs a break and good thing Scarlett comes to her rescue. Well in other words, not only her rescue but she becomes Sophie for a little while. That is until feelings get complicated between “Sophie” and her boss. What will happen when he finds out Sophie isn’t really Sophie but Scarlett. You’ll have to read the story to find out. It’s a good story and a fairly quick read. I received this book for my honest review. #badboyupdate.

What fun, to change places with your twin sister for a few days at work while she heals from a broken heart. Scarlett is taking Sophie's place as PA for the CEO Lucien. Lucien notices that there is something different with his PA but can't put his finger on it. They end up going to Italy and they end up having a steamy one-night stand. What's going to happen when Lucien finds out about the switch? There were lots of twists/turns, drama, and steam. I enjoyed the story and highly recommend it.

Great story with ups and downs. Loved the banter between Lucien and Scarlett. It was great to see Lucien protect her from a creepy guy.

Scarlett's sister assures her that Lucien won't even notice her however Lucien is wondering why all of a sudden now after 3yrs he's attracted to his assistant. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this cute story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

This is Lucien and Scarlett’s story.
When Scarlett’s sister is suffering from a broken heart she is convinced to step in for her at work as PA to the CEO, and is reassured that he will not even notice, however, Lucien is confused as to why he is attracted to his assistant after working together for three years.
This is a well written story which has deception, lies, undeniable chemistry, humor, romance, intrigue, twists and turns, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner.

A twin switch...and they didn't think they would get caught. Sophie is the ever efficient assistant to Lucien. At least she is until her fiancee dumps her. To help her out, her twin Scarlet jumps in to pretend to be her. It goes from rough to impossible when Scarlet and Lucien act on their desires. She is growing feelings and there is no way this is gonna end well. The ending was a little abrupt and less detailed than I would have liked. Overall this was a really good story.
