Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan is a captivating novel penned by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie, which takes us on an enthralling tale of 87 individuals trapped in a flooded hotel. Each day becomes a test of survival as they grapple with the reality of the situation they are in, all the while trying to figure out the mastermind behind this absurd, yet chilling tragedy.
Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan’s brilliance lies in its extraordinary concept – one that kept me turning pages, driven by the anticipation of what comes next, just like how each individual in the story was pushed to think of their way out. The diversity of these characters, each from a different background, also adds a unique richness to the story. But, what truly sets Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan apart is Ziggy’s writing style. Fresh, wild, and undeniably unique – her writing breathes life into the narrative.
Despite its strengths, Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan is not without its flaws. As this marks my first experience with Ziggy’s distinctive writing style, there was a learning curve for me to finally get used to her writings, let alone understand the storyline, despite how I still liked it at the end of the day. The multitude of characters, some with similar names and motives, added a layer of confusion. And, as enriching as it is, the complexity and depth of its storyline could still lead to an overwhelming reading experience.
Would I recommend Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan to you? Definitely. Despite the initial hurdles, the novel still offers a thrilling and engaging ride. I rate it 4 out of 5.
Pulau Batu di Samudra Selatan is a psychological roller-coaster that will have you at the edge of your seat, so brace yourself for the ride and watch out for the water!
