Hes tangled with Radiant Black and fought alongside the Dead Lucky—but whos the man in the suit, and how did he assemble his team of mercenaries? This extra-length one-shot contains the four eight-page SHIFT stories originally released in IMAGE!, plus a brand-new five-page story by SHIFT creators KYLE HIGGINS DANIELE DI NICUOLO, ahead of SHIFTs appearance in RADIANT BLACKs The Catalyst War!SHIFT is a Massive-Verse title.
There's brief, and there's too brief. Shift is an interesting character and definitely got my attention when he appeared im Radiant Red. But thoughhe acts as a great foil there, his presence and direction im these random snippets leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure they were backup stories im the single issues, butthey should have been packaged with the Radiant Black volumes instead of here. His character and role im the story would have been better defined there.
It’s a tiny one-shot that gives us a little more context into few moments of this character’s story. These moments weren’t particularly interesting, just something cool to know. It also doesn’t help that I read most of the other massive verse books a few months ago, and cannot remember all context, that’s on me.
Otherwise the art is really good as I’ve come to expect from massive verse books, and all around, Shift is a neat addition to the massive verse.
Yet another product of a Humble Bundle. Probably not the best place to start reading this character as it seems it's a broader part of a massive universe but... Err... Yeah, it was fine. Being able to teleport must be cool and there were some heists that I enjoyed. It seems a bit all over the place, presumably because the various stories intersperse with stories from other areas.
It's a fun collection about Shift, a recurring character in the Massive verse.
It has some fun worldbuilding and behind the scenes nods to other storied but it works as a seperate piece about a merc trying to run a business as a supervillian for hire.
Interesting to get more details on who SHIFT, a minor character in RADIANT BLACK is. Not convinced this is a particularly great story, especially with the break between issues #4-5, but still it's good to fill in some of the blanks.
Interesting story. I only picked it up because I needed a book of this title for my challenge. It was ok. Read it for 2025 Popsugar Reading Challenge - 2 books with same title prompt.
