Clean Sweep: War of the Submarine: Book 3.5

Rate this book
John Dalton is America’s best submarine captain.

For the moment.
In a war where one out of every three American submarines fails to come home, John and USS Razorback are a pair of rare survivors. More importantly, they take the fight to the enemy as the so-called "Freedom Union" gobbles up more and more territory every day. Undersea resources, stations, and enclaves change hands with every battle in World War III, and it’s up to submarines like Razorback to defend Americans and Alliance territory.

And Captain John Dalton? He’s got one last mission to complete before he leaves his beloved submarine and crew behind. But after dancing on the knife’s edge for almost a year, can he beat the odds one last time?

Or will fate—and the enemy—catch up to him like it has so many of his friends and colleagues?

Clean Sweep is a novella set in the universe of War of the Submarine and takes place immediately after book 3, Fire When Ready.

Well written, but unfortunately needlessly trashy. I wanted to enjoy this book, even looked forward to exploring it, but the gratuitous s3x left me unable to read further. It did nothing to further the plot, so I could only conclude it was merely there to titillate. That'll be a hard pass for me.

Excellent.

Really enjoyed this one. Did a very good job of filling in some of the gaps in between the main books and fleshing out the main characters. Highly recommend for naval fiction fans.

Too short

Nice story. A bit short really. I only started to read it yesterday. A bit disappointed. Feels like the narrative is being stretched.

Short!

Incredibly short but a good short story. Get to see the sub tender side of things. It’s little pricey for the amount of content.

Excerpt?

Short read, but this is typically great, like every book of R. G. Roberts that I have read so far. If possible I want to read his entire series of books.
