Many approaches to discipleship that I have experienced early in my journey with Jesus were often reduced down to a process or list of to-dos rather than focusing on helping others relate to or grow closer to Jesus. In his book, Threads, Kirk does a remarkable job highlighting the core focus of discipleship: to enjoy Jesus and help others do the same.

Kirk highlights three core values that should be present in any discipleship context, be it a large group or small group setting, one-on-one, or in the home; 1) we are Jesus centered, 2) we have a Kingdom calling, and 3) we are to leave footsteps for others to follow.
Using these values as a pathway and providing practical examples, Kirk explores the core experiences we can confidently walk in as disciples of Jesus.
So, whether you’re seeking to disciple someone for the first time, or have been on the journey for many years, I highly recommend Threads to anyone who is desiring to fulfill the Great Commission and is in need of a Christ-centered, reproducible model of discipleship.

This is a fantastic resource for disciple making! With a simple vision of enjoying Jesus and helping others do the same, and practical steps for how to do that in a way that is reproducible and approachable, this book will equip any Christian in their disciple making efforts, whether as a lead pastor or as a parent at home.
