Interesting realism in the story

This is a really great story, well told, about love and family and how familial obligations shape our life path. I also liked how Oklahoman Native American history was intertwined in the story line. The characters are likable and relatable. The writing is simple and easy to read, not very elegant but nice and easy. It could use some editing to clean up some of the writing, but that may not be a bother to all readers. This would be a quick read, particularly if you enjoy well rounded characters with an interesting background, the main character having served in the Vietnam war and now living in Oregon and then back to Oklahoma to his family.

Loved this novel!

This book had me flipping page after page, till I reached the end and felt I needed to reread it to feel it all over again (I really did read it twice)!
The author was able to help me visit Lindsay, Oklahoma without having to leave the comfort of my couch through his writing.
This lovely novel is heartwarming and it will leave you with a nostalgic feeling as you flip through its pages. I very much enjoyed the author's calm writing style as well as the way he brought these wonderful characters to life.
Living in real life scenario is and emotions that many of the readers will feel along with KJ and his mother. I definitely recommend this novel!

Fabulous story, well written with tributes to Veterans, Native Americans and agriculture. A true masterpiece of unpredictable twists and turns. The last two chapters are intense with a crazy good ending. Please, Please give us a sequel.
