I'm a loner and a weirdo. I fell into an obsession over a gay man, despite being straight all my life. So I stalked him, observed his private life, obsessed over him, and finally made a decision to cross the boundaries no sane person should ever cross. Am I mad? Probably. I've gone crazy over his unusual body and his melancholic aura. But why is he always so sad? Why is he dejected? The biggest problem is, he is not single... Could I steal this dark rose and make him mine?
"Stalker" is an MM dark romance with strong erotica elements, involving possessiveness, obsession, gay first time, gay only for you, submissive behavior, violence, law-breaking, hurt-to-comfort, and a socially awkward "stalker-home-invader" type of character. It depicts scenes of violence (but not between the main characters) and an exclusive relationship, HEA.

Content warning: strong elements of body FETISHIZATION are present!, please keep that in mind! Consider if it is a book for you.
Additionally, there are mentions of s.a. attempts, armed attacks, post-trauma healing, panic attacks, and a strong focus on body types considered unhealthy /anorectic.

I enjoyed it a lot! As the title suggests this is a dark romance, and pretty much all mc and side characters are morally dark or grey. Hunter is obsessed by Fellon but the obsession is kind of mutual, and it's more complicated because Fellon is initially in an abusive, unhealthy relationship with another guy, Angus. I really liked the writing, all written in Hunter's pov, except for a chapter focusing on Angus which I found original and fun, and the epilogue which made me very curious about another couple! (I really want to know if they'll have their story next!)
Definitely read the trigger warnings about the dark themes and the topic of Fellon's body type, read it if those are not an issue for you :)
I really appreciated the cover and the images of Hunter and Fellon inside the book.
Overall a really nice debut for this author and I'll be definitely looking forward for her next books!

This book was a bit odd at times. I had moments where I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but in the end, it turned out to be pretty entertaining and even sweet. It's definitely something different from what I'm used to in this genre. The mix of black comedy with drama and erotica was unexpected, but I had a good time.

Fallon got on my nerves a bit with this prince-like attitude, but Hunter made up for it, being, on occasions, a bit cringy himbo, but sweet and protective in general. Their relationship was definitely attention-grabbing; it was an intense bond.

The dialogues were sort of strange at times, but at the same time, when I stopped trying to force the book to be like others, I started to enjoy it.
It's just all in the perspective; when chilled out, I liked it.

And I appreciated that the author took care of the side characters and explained their fates. I really liked Randy! I also appreciate the list of trigger warnings—good job there. The 'gay for you' part was done very well.

I feel like you can tell the author comes from outside the culture where these kinds of romances are mostly written. The characters' temperament and some other things are portrayed differently than what I'm used to in books by native speakers.

But it's definitely an interesting change/experiment, even if it might not be everyone's favorite style.

Overall, after finishing the book, I was in an unexpectedly good mood, which rarely happens when I read this subgenre!

Wow just WOW

I followed a TicTok tease and downloaded this book on Kindle Unlimited and was sucked into the story from page one! Its a twisted, kinda nasty little nugget and I loved every page of it! Do yourself a favor and ride the crazy train with Hunter and Fallon!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! This was my first read by Eden West but it damn sure will not be my last!

Fascinating, I think that's a fitting word to describe the book.

Please be sure to read the trigger warnings, without accepting them you cannot enjoy the book.

Definitely unique for the story, sweet for the unfolding romance, with a touch of darkness as Hunter is a stalker, but a sweet one as long as no one hurts the object of his desire.
So obsession, passion and possessiveness. Yum, perfect for me.
The writing style is different, but not bad. The author points out that this is the first book in English and therefore may not always hit the right note. As I'm not a native speaker myself, I probably don't notice little things. I may have stumbled over one or two words, but I've already forgotten them, so it wasn't too bad. I actually think the writing style is very good, just because it's different. And I particularly liked it at the beginning. I think the style helped me get deep into Hunter's mindset and build a strong relationship with the character.
Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with Fallon that well because most of the story is only told from Hunter's POV. I think that's a shame, but on the other hand it might have taken too much tension out of the story, I don't know. In any case, it's not tragic, but it does give the feeling that something was missing.
As for the fetishization in the book ... interesting. I was a little worried that it might be too much of a "glorification" of thin bodies, but thankfully it's not. Falllon is just built that way, yes he watches his diet, but he loves his body the way it is and he's not coerced into being that way. Well and Hunter just has a very great fondness for Fallon's bones. 😉
Unfortunately, there are various phrases that are repeated over and over again. That was a bit too much. I think you realized after the first half of the book how beautiful Hunter considers Fallon's body. That was a bit OTT for me. But it's not bad either, Hunter is just really enthusiastic and expresses this constantly.

I adored his delicate body, which seemed so willowy that the wind could bend it in half. I had no idea why.

Regarding the "gay-for-you" theme - that's ok, it's not overdone. Hunter copes quite well with it and accepts his new sexual evolution quite quickly. I know that's always a bit controversial, but he explains it quite well and I think it fits this book and specifically this body fetish.

So, to my rating. Everything I wrote before would not have deducted any stars from the book. But what I have to criticize and what also affects the rating is the lack of communication regarding safety and the lack of condom use. I'm sorry, but Hunter only mentions something like "most gay men were on PreP" once when talking about Fallon's cheating boyfriend. But we don't even learn anything about Fallon's and his status or that they even talked about it. If I have overlooked this, please feel free to correct me.
And then, unfortunately, there are the last 30 pages ... boring so so so boring. I'm really sorry, but I would have preferred to read a bit more about the relationship between Fallon and Hunter.

Stalker.... Hmmmmm , more like hot, protective, lover!

HEA
It does fetishize a thinner male. I didn't find it too odd though and I've read a lot of weird stuff.
First person point of view -Hunter the stalker.
🌶🌶🌶 2.5/5 steam. Some people commented it might have been cringy, but they were both kinda odd, or weird men, and I liked their weird smexy talk. It was oddly refreshing.
Hurt comfort
Gay for you- Hunter has never been with a man. Fallon is openly gay, and in an abusive, toxic relationship.

Hunter sees Fallon at work one day and follows him home. Let the stalking begin! But Fallon is abused, his boyfriend beats him, cheats on him, and Hunter is not at all like that. He wanted to protect Fallon. He wants to possess Fallon. He wants Fallon for himself no matter how confusing that is to him because he has never stalked someone, and never wanted a male.

Eden is a new author to me. I would call this book a M/M dark psychological thriller.
Hunter had always been attracted to girls, who society considered anorexic. And had always thought himself straight. He noticed a male co-worker, who was very skinny. He found himself attracted to him, then became obsessed with him.
Fallon knew he had a secret admirer at work. He was in a very abusive relationship with a man. Hunter stalks Fallon and sees him being abused. He reveals himself to Fallon. The story has many unexpected twists and turns involving their relationship as it develops and grows. There is a HEA.
It took me a chapter or 2 to become involved in the story. I enjoyed this book. I would read the author's comments about triggers, etc..
Good job Eden

Enjoyed it!

I loved the stalker angle without it being some hardened criminal crazy guy. Just a run of the mill weirdo. Also enjoyed that the guy being stalked was okay with it and even enjoyed it. Don’t find that often. I would recommend this book.

Please read the trigger warnings in the author’s note.

The writing can barely hold my attention, and thats the solemn reason I give this lower. I hate that I lose focus a lot in the beginning. On the brighter side, the obsessive, possessive stalker trope with a fetish for skinny bony guy, was done well bcs I liked them both together a lot.

I expected darkness bcs of the trope, but this was surprisingly sweet like sugar. I giggled, and laughed a few times reading this because their interactions were mostly cute and the shyness they share is very adorable. Despite Hunter being very possessive and obsessive over Fallon, he still respected every decisions made by Fallon and he still take his time to get Fallon to be his. Not the toxic kind of obsession.

The second half of the book is quite anticlimactic (minus the angst at 80%). probably from the sex. I also notice this couple like to compare themselves with their exes. It’s repetitive and annoying lmao. tbh, the writing is also very repetitive at times. Overall, this book definitely gives the “it’s nothing serious” vibe.

For starters, I love this cover 💜🖤 Love it

This is the kind of plot that has me running to the To Read button with flash speed. I probably should seek professional help, but idc. This is dark, a bit creepy yes, funny, sweet, possessive, and hot too!

So meet Hunter, the Stalker, and Fallon, the Stalker. Hunter Begins was stalking right after he saw Fallon, and that was it. The story is very good, and the characters are very well built, even the fucking disgusting boyfriend....

The writing was a bit different, and maybe because you can see the author is not native to the English language like you are reading a children's book with everything told very blandly and directly (like my review because I am also not an English native :D). This made the book strange, but after we get used to it, you can enjoy the story.

The thing that didn't go well for me in terms of the plot was that Fallon, with all his trauma, accepted Hunter too easily; a bit more pinning or corteship was needed. The sex scene in front of Angus... No, no, no, and plus, no!

You can tell this is a baby author, but the spark is there, and so I'm curious for future projects.

I received an ARC from Eden, and this is my honest opinion.

This is so agora hills coded,
I love the sick obsession aspect of this, their crave for each other, and the need to be with each other, and the desperation and I loved that, sometimes it's still felt like an M/F story being disguised as an MM but I can choose to ignore it because it's not apparent but it's definitely there,
And some conversations topics keep repeating itself, like his body and how skinny he was, and hunter gayness, it's just repetitive.

This is damn well the most self-aware stalker I’ve ever read HAHA
At first I wasn’t convinced. I thought I’d feel uncomfortable with the fetishization but strangely I wasn’t. I enjoyed the fluff I didn’t know the story will have. The emotional intelligence and growth with the characters.
Most of all, I’m just sure I have a thing for men with long hair.

I'm tapping out at 60%. It captured my attention at first. I love a good stalker (not in real life obviously lol), but as it went, I found it hard to stay interested. The writing was a bit different as if we were being told a story by the character instead of living in the moment with them...does that make sense? But I was able to adjust. I saw where English is not the author's first language, and it kind of shows. Things were stilted and clunky, and the overuse of exclamation points where they were not warranted started to grate on my nerves, so I finally decided to quit. The whole premise could have been very good. I liked the story just not the execution.

DNF @ 39%.

I love the cover, I liked the idea of this book. And while it definitely has some dark themes, it just reads too immature and almost comedic to take seriously.

Hunter is like a himbo stalker. Where he thinks he has been super stealth, everyone at the company has noticed him. And himbo stalker sounds great, but not in a dark romance.

There’s so many exclamation points and breaking the fourth wall. It’s driving me nuts. And Hunter and Fallon are all “we are so weird”… like, you don’t need to tell me, just show me.

Also, Hunter refers to both Fallon and Angus by name before learning either of their names.

I always finish books even if I don’t like them however I just couldn’t make it to the end of stalker and stopped reading at 27%, it just really wasn’t for me.
The odd personality of hunter rubbed me the wrong way especially his fetish with Fallons weight it was very weird. You’d think this book would be very enthralling with the themes that it has but it was just boring.

I liked this one, it was good. I loved the whole stalker thing, Hunter was so obssessed with Fallin and just wanted him to be his. Fallon was in a toxic relationship and Hunter did save him. The love part happened a little to fast but I liked it anyway. I liked them together, they brought the best of each other out of the other

not for me.

i liked the concept but the dialogues & situations were a bit over the top.

the use of the word weird & the overly mentions of fallon's skinniness were a bit much. also, the author was using too many exclamation marks where they weren't needed.

i think the whole story lacked depth & the characters were a bit shallow (?).

That was pretty weird. I mean, the style of writing is definitely something I’m not used to, a lot of exclamation marks and the way Hunter described Fallon? We get it, he’s skinny and you have a kink for it! Gosh. That was irritating as fuck, every paragraph had a huge amount of the the words „skinny”, „pale”, „thin” and many other synonyms. The story was good, I liked it. Although the middle of the book was pretty boring since they only had sex for few chapters before the action got good again. I will read the second book of this series because I’m curious, but this one won’t stay in my mind for long. That’s a shame, because I was excited for it.

Premise: Very triggery book about a stalker saving an abused man from his lover and HEA with him.

What I liked about it:
+ I did like how the abused MC was saved and eventually learnt to stand up for himself.

What I didn’t like about it:
- This book has very dark themes such as SA, abuse, cheating. It is not a fluffy time. The abused MC can be very frustrating at times because he isn’t strong enough to leave his lover so let himself be abused. From that perspective, the stalker is the hero of the story.
- The stalker can be very red flag as well. For example, the first time he comes in to contact with the other MC, he invades his house and ties him up. While his appearance in the other person’s life is a blessing for him, it doesn’t change the fact that he can be creepy as hell.
- This story can be very confusing. There are some very disturbing parts that makes me hate it and yet there are also some sweet part. I hate how they just let the abusive boyfriend walk away without calling the police or anything and lets him threaten them. Sure they might not have enough evidence to convict him but doing nothing was weird.
- This story is just weirdly written and I didn’t like the character’s perspective on things. This is just not for me.

Conclusion: This is a stalker turned hero story. The premise is nice but unfortunately, it is just not for me.

I really enjoyed the tone and the pace of this book!!
It was sweet even though it was suppose to be a dark romance I thought it was more of a contemporary with darker undertones form Hunter stalking Fallon.
I’m excited to read the second book and see where that book takes me!

“Stalker” by Eden West turned out to be an unexpected treat. I went in thinking I knew what kind of story it would be, but the author’s quirks and the way they shaped the characters made it feel more unique than I expected.

The book follows Hunter Dorn, a man who becomes enthralled with a quiet, androgynous looking man, his aloof “dark rose” Fallon Diaz. Hunter begins to stalk Fallon (hence the title), and the suspense builds around the questions of if and when he’ll reveal himself, and whether Fallon will return his stalker’s feelings for him.

As West mentions in the author’s note, English is not their first language, so some of the wording is a little awkward at times. As someone with a non-native English speaking background myself, I actually admired the effort and found that it added a unique flavor to the story. In fact, some of the awkwardness felt like it could reflect the characters’ personalities rather than just the author’s writing style. From the start, we know Hunter is an unconventional character, but it turns out Fallon has some of his own quirks, too. Together, these quirks in both the writing style and the characters gave the book a distinctive tone that set it apart from more polished but predictable romances.

From the first page, the story pulled me in and grabbed my attention. Hunter’s stalking sessions were described in a way that felt intriguing and unsettling. The suspense made these scenes super engaging and thrilling, and they perfectly showcased the depth of his intense, obsessive nature. It kept me eager to see just how far Hunter’s obsession would push him, and what the eventual big reveal would be like. I do think the book could have kept the stalking going on for longer, and it was one of the aspects I enjoyed the most, but I’m also glad they didn’t stretch it out for way too long, either.

Even though the book is from Hunter’s POV, we still get to know Fallon as well. I liked that he was more than just a plot device, but an actual character who I could see Hunter being attracted to. He wasn’t described as the typical, handsome, Abercrombie model type dream guy, but had a special charm that made him memorable, with his unconventional body type and detached nature. I liked the way their feelings and passion for each other developed. Their “sexy talk” could come off as a little awkward, but again, it oddly worked for them. Overall, it was just nice to read something different than “Perfect Guy 1 meets Perfect Guy 2.”

That said, the ending fell kind of flat for me, and wasn’t as enjoyable as the rest of the book, especially the beginning. It felt like the end of the book was mostly focused on showing what a jerk Angus (Fallon’s abusive ex), and there weren’t any more “wow!” moments for me. It wasn’t bad, but still, it just felt like the story lost some of its spark and was missing a stronger/more impactful conclusion.

Overall, “Stalker” was an engaging MM romance that stood out from others in the genre. Despite how I felt towards the end, it was still an entertaining read, and I’d love to see more from Eden West (especially if the side characters Randy and Jeremy get their own book, too 😉). I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this author’s future works!

I love this fascinating book noir, and this stunning book cover! From the first page the author quickly pulled me into the story. The writing is so incredibly vivid, it's like watching a movie unfolding in my mind. The main characters are Hunter, a computer company system administrator, and Fallon, a recently hired intern, working for the same company. Hunter has never been sexually attracted to a man. But, from the moment he sees Fallon, he becomes infatuated by Fallon's quiet, silent nature and thin, fragile beauty. Hunter single-mindedly, and in his own exceptional way, pursues and courts Fallon through a layered build-up of this witty, unique, and intimate romance. As you walk the path of this tale, be prepared for some of these elements:
-Stalking.
-Voyeurism.
-Bondage.
-GFY/Demisexual.
-Uncommon body type worship.
-Possessive and Protective behavior.
-C*ckwarming
-Size difference
-Exhibitionism.
-Primal play.
-True love romance and a HEA.

This is a beautifully descriptive sensual, and passionate story. With intelligent, strong, and intense main characters. All thanks to the wonderful
writing skills of the author Eden West. Make no mistake about it, this is a special and rare novel. I am amazed by this USA debut novel, and I am breathlessly waiting for more from this Polish author. Highly recommended!

This was a really interesting read. The tone of the mc's internal monologue is a bit strange at times and there's kind of an excessive use of exclamation marks. It weirded me out at first and I almost dropped it but it kind of suits Hunter. He always describes himself as a weird loner that is kind of bad at reading social cues and his internal thoughts definitely show it. It's super interesting.

The romance was both surprisingly sweet and hot. There is a lot of body fetishisation going on from both parties but it's kind of romantic? Could definitely be triggering for some people which the author does note at the start, but I enjoyed it. Different vibes to what I usually read but definitely good.

I think I'd almost describe the two main characters as soul mates even though it's not really a soulmate world or like fated mates or anything. But they just GET each other and its really sweet.

I'm definitely going to read the next book but not sure how it's related to this one based on the blurb so far. Who knows, maybe only the dark romance is the only connection.

I have read other stories by Eden and I’ve not found one I didn’t love yet!

The story of Hunter and his obsession Fallon is one as old as time but with a twist.
Hunter spots Fallon across the room and despite believing he’s straight his entire life, he needs Fallon and the chase is on.
Fallon is not in a great place in life, his partner is, for want of a better way to put it a waste of oxygen, who makes his life miserable. He needs out but has no way to make it happen, until Hunter enters his life.
I don’t want to give loads of spoilers but as the title suggests Hunter’s way of getting to know Fallon is to stalk him. He sees all he needs to see, a couple of things he doesn’t want to see and one or two he can’t get out of his mind. Decisions are made and changes take place working towards a happy ever after.

Stalker is deep down a love story, and a damn good one at that.

Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

Well... this was a weird one. The author's bio states that she's not a native English speaker, and that definitely shows. The phrasing, word choice, and overall rhythm are really, really awkward and stilted... but you know what? I just sort of skimmed past that and accepted most of it as cultural differences, because yay! A story about weird obsession! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm totally here for the stalking, the total social awkwardness, the fetishization of Fallon's body. I would have actually enjoyed this even more - as fiction only, of course - if those had been leaned into a little more. So... I guess I have to say that I mostly enjoyed this one? At least, the first... maybe 2/3? Technically, this could probably be considered a DNF since I skimmed and then gave up on it after , because honestly, nothing interesting happened after that. 🤷‍♀️ But I'm still going to pick up the next weird obsessive book in this series! 😁

As one of the commentators said, this book was odd. I haven't read anything like this. But I can't say, that I didn't like it.
First it was very creepy, but it's good, that Hunter appeared to be just really very obsessed, not stalker in the worst way.
What I hadn't had enough - there were only few moments, I counted two, when Hunter explains and realizes, how his obsession turns into love - the moments, when he falls deeply for this guy. And sex in the end of the book - this wasn't closer to the end(( Though it was very good)))
And the seed at the end - for the second book, I liked it.
I liked this book however. I can say that it is to be added to "favourites".
Looking forward to the other books of this author.
