This book was a perfect bridge and resting point for the series. It really gives you a look into what calmer life for the characters is like while still having an intriguing plot to keep things moving. I loved the new romances that developed and the hope it gave for the next two books👀 (iykyk). It's such a calm relaxtion point.

Content Guide:
Multiple mentions to women being abused, some more intense than others.
Some jests and mentions to married life, nothing described or explicit.
In the beginning there was a part that took me off guard, but nothing happens and there is no need to fear.
Some violence, mostly minor injuries.

My personal age suggestion is 15/16+

I loved this continuation in the Keeper of Light story! Reading this book was almost like taking a deep breath. It was a mixture of relief from the events that happened previously as the characters were able to find joys in their lives after the turmoil of war and intensity of tying up loose ends that were left to deal with. I loved watching the forgiveness that happened in this story. It wasn't just that they forgave, but they modeled redemption that comes with forgiveness. Reading this book is a must!

My favorite quotes:
"Every day the clouds covered the sky, I wished for the stars, because the stars meant the possibility of spending time with you. Every conversation, every encounter, every touch - it all drew my heart to you."

"The Father's all I need. Even a married woman needs to find her contentment in Abneriel."

"No matter what symptom of her trauma arose or how many problems it produced, he met each one with the same loving acceptance he knew she so desperately needed."

"My life is worth nothing if I don't value the lives of others."

"I am redeemed."

I flew through this book. I really enjoyed getting to know some of the side characters more and seeing the continuation of life. I really appreciate romance between married people and liked continuing to see couples in this book in their romantic and normal lives. The story had some fun surprises. I really enjoyed the main theme and plotline. I loved how it was worked out and the singing in the jail! I am excited to read book 5.

I love the main plot of this book -- King Eloekim must stop the slave trade that is happening in his kingdom. The characters and this world truly feel like home now, and I've loved watching them grow, deepening their friendships and their faith in The Father of Light. Several of the characters find their happily ever after and/or their purpose for life in this book, and I am so happy for them. The dynamic among them reminds me of the early church. It's sweet and pure and inspiring. Marriage is a major part of the book, and even though it's a fantasy book, it's full of wisdom! I loved it.
