The Protocol
"April Christofferson ranks up there with Tami Hoag for writing can't-put-it-down suspense. The Protocol is a nail-biter end to end." —Michael Palmer, New York Times–bestselling author
Widowed corporate attorney Jennifer Rockhill has to prove that Dr. Sherwood Fielding funded his biotech firm by dealing in illegally obtained human organs—including her husband's—for transplant into the bodies of people who could pay almost any price to extend their lives. But that's not the worst of Fielding's transgressions against nature, as Jennifer soon finds out.
Working on the cutting edge of a lucrative field like genetics is risky—and Jennifer finds herself in a maelstrom of murder, industrial espionage, deceit and personal betrayal. Embroiled in a plot of unimaginable medical perversion, Jennifer must fight for the truth about the science being done at the firm. Especially as it leads her to the truth of how and why her husband died.
"Christofferson is a writer you will become addicted to!" —Ann Rule, #1 New York Times–bestselling author
"Starring two complex and often fallible characters, this debut thriller is expertly paced and tautly woven. Michael Crichton-like in its scientific focus . . . a suspenseful success." —Publishers Weekly
"Fast-paced, suspenseful, and frightening, this work highlights the conflicts that can result from the overcommercialization of science as well as the dangers of uncontrolled scientific experimentation. It should definitely be read during the light of day." —Library Journal

I may try this book again one day, but I am on chapter 8 and dread reading it - which is my sign to put it away. If I cannot motivate myself to read something, there is a problem. It is not logical nor believable, and I don't even like any of the characters.
