A Simple Avalanche

Rate this book
Book 4 in the Simply Trouble SeriesCassandra Dodd and her boyfriend, CIA Agent Benjamin Stills, are escaping on a well-deserved, romantic vacation.
Sure, the trip came about because Cassie was required to do in-person research in the small town of Eden, Colorado; but the rental home in a historic old mining town, an unexpected snowstorm, a fireplace and a stunning mountain view are an immensely welcome reprieve.
However, when an avalanche inadvertently embroils them in an unexpected mystery, romance is forcefully pushed onto the backburner.
It’s a race against time as Cassie and Stills dig through an insurmountable mountain of hidden history to save their lives before the snow is cleared.

Legend has it that Nicole Sharp was born to hippies during an ice storm in Stone Mountain, Georgia. While confirmation of said events cannot be agreed upon, one fact is for certain, it was a Tuesday. By age twelve, Nicole was sure of two things: 1) She wanted to be a writer and 2) She wanted to travel. She begged her parents to allow her to voyage alone to exotic lands. They permitted to go from California to Boise, Idaho to visit a great-grandmother.

These days, Nicole swigs cappuccinos the way a dehydrated sailor with scurvy would whiskey, as she writes about Italy, love, coffee and the quirky adventures of fearless women. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with no houseplants and three pink stovetop espresso makers.

A good, fun read. Again, the travel aspect of Sharp's writing is sublime -- makes me want to visit Mesa Verde for sure! And the character development makes the reader feel like they've gained new friends.
