Poetry always invokes deep emotion in me, but poetry written by someone you love is even more powerful.

I’ve know Sam since our first year of college together back in 2010. She’s always had a huge heart for others and so much light in her eyes. But life has a way of dulling that shine and beating us down.

This collection of poetry takes you through her life over the past couple of years. It’s a journey of heartbreak, grief, loss, questioning, and unexpected new beginnings.

Sam’s way with words is absolutely beautiful. She knows how to conjure up gorgeous, sometimes visceral imagery that leaves an impression and makes you feel so many emotions. The way these poems are arranged mimic the tumultuous path through life. There are highs and lows trailing one after the other as emotions are rarely rational things.

My true rating was a 4.5 out of 5 for this, simply because it could have used one more edit before print. However, I couldn’t give it a 4 because that was the only flaw I noticed. I’ll gladly be recommending this collection to anyone who will listen.

Congratulations, Sam. This is wonderfully done and I’m so proud of you. ❤️

Sam, I loved this one even more than I loved your first one! This was so beautiful. Can’t wait for your next!
You do a great job at turning tragedy into beautiful words. Very insightful and relatable as well.
