In the series finale, as college senior Chip plays in his last football game, a last-second decision proves the difference between losing the title and winning a trip to the Rose Bowl.
It’s rather sad that this is the last of the Chip Hilton books, but it’s just as good as the others. Chip thinks of the team and not of himself. And when starts out to help he doesn’t back away when things aren’t easy. I love that not only does Chip help his teammate, but also his family. This story has a good Christian feel with prayer and attending church. Recommended to any and all sports lovers.
I have recently read the book “Chip Hilton: Fiery Fullback” by Coach Claire Bee. The genre of this book is realistic fiction because it could have happened in real life. The theme of the book is; fighting through challenges. Fiery Fullback is about a Sophomore coming up from the Freshman team for his first year on Varsity. He desperately wants to play fullback for a reason that Chip cannot find out. Hansen, the new player, gets mad whenever he is not put into the starting lineup as the fullback. The problem with Hansen’s need to play fullback is that the Statesmen already have a really good fullback in Fireball Finley. Chip thinks that Hansen would be a good player at middle linebacker, but Hansen won’t rest until he has the fullback spot. Chip Hilton was once again my favorite character in this book. He tried and tried to straighten out Hansen over and over. This book is worth reading because of its fantastic message. I recommend checking this one out, along with the other 23 books in the series.
