Kinsey is a nurse at the children's hospital. She knows that she's not supposed to play favorites with the patients but she is particularly fond of a little girl named Addison. Addison has such a positive attitude, so much in contrast to her father, Hunter's attitude about things. He's a grumpy doctor who took a sabbatical to participate in the care of his daughter. Kinsey gets her dream job in the coronary care unit of the sister hospital. Imagine her surprise when she finds out her new boss is grumpy Hunter. Hunter does realize he made a bad first impression on Kinsey and he's trying to do better. Interestingly, both Kinsey and Hunter go to a matchmaker, and wouldn't you know it, the matchmaker suggests that they would be PERFECT for each other!! When things at work start to get dicey, will Dr. Hunter support Kinsey, or choose to believe the worst?
Oh, my goodness does this book scream romance and suspense. Kinsey is a nurse that transfer to another hospital. Hunter is a doctor at the same hospital who seems to not like Kinsey however that is not the case at all. When things start to happen at the hospital, and they blame Kinsey for everything Hunter steps in to figure out who is trying to place blame on Kinsey. This book has so much excitement and heart stopping drama that I finished reading this book in a few hours. I couldn't stop reading it because I needed to know what happens and how the book ends. I also caught myself laughing at times on how sweet Addison is who is Hunter's daughter. I loved how Hunter proposed and how Addison gave up the surprise. What a real heart felt and warm romance book with the best HEA ending ever.
Hunter and Kinsey have such a great story. This is a story of forgiveness, hope, and love. Hunter is a cardiologist who took a sabbatical while his young daughter was fighting cancer. Kinsey was her favorite nurse in the children’s oncology department. Hunter’s daughter made him promise to actively search for another wife so he would not be lonely when she was gone. Hunter and Kinsey begin work in the same department on the same day. The animosity between the two quickly changes to concern when it appears someone is setting Kinsey up as the perpetrator when drugs go missing. The light humor while dealing with serious issues in this book is delightful. Will they be able to uncover the true perpetrator in the theft of the drugs before anyone is hurt?
I enjoyed this book. The doctor was grumpy, but he loved his daughter. The nurse was sunny and loved his daughter. Dr. Hunter Blackstone was divorced because his wife couldn't handle the illness of their 7 year old daughter. Nurse Kinsey Adams was the daughter's favorite nurse. The doctor and the nurse both transferred to the same medical unit at a nearby hospital on the same day. He was her boss so even though they were secretly attracted to each other, they couldn't act on it. They have both engaged the services of the same matchmaker. There were rumors, missing drugs and suspicion. I liked the way the author handled the situation. I would read other books by her.
This is a wonderful book for the holidays. It is all about family inclusivity by birth, adoption or choice. There is a LOT of forgiveness happening, and learning not to judge before hearing all sides of the story.
I really liked the twist of the missing opioids missing from the hospital, and the final reveal of the thief's process was most believable and satisfying. That doesn't make the crook any less of a slimeball however. And the HEA definitely made me smile.
I received an ARC copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.
The book had a matching people who helped people meet each other. We have a doctor and a nurse who think they don't like each other and it is fun to watch how that changes. This is the first book that I have ever read by Madison Love. The book was a clean romance that is a page turner and it ended with a Every Ever After. The writing of this book was very professional. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
2 narrators In this book, female narrator express desire to meet with brother but initiates no action until 1/3rd through book she tells somone she's been interacting with for a long time that he is her brother?? (Realstic? Manipulative?) Lots of details about meals. Declaration that age between lovers doesn't matter if both are over 30--interesting.
There is heartbreak with childhood cancer, instant chemistry but with complications between Hunter and Kinsey, rumors, false accusations, stolen drugs, and so much more. Another page-turner from this author. There are twists and turns, surprises galore, and the sweetest ending. I love these books.
I have been looking forward to this book since we were introduced to Kinsey, Hunter, and Addy in Madison Love’s previous book. The wait was worth it, a romance, mystery, “mean” girls, old friends, wonderful characters and a few twists and surprises. This has a surprise ending that I wasn’t expecting. Treat yourself to this book.
She’s a nurse, he’s a doctor and single dad. His daughter was her patient. She moves to a new job and he’s her boss. The attraction is huge but policy is against them. But friends and family conspire to bring them together
Enjoyed this story. You try to figure the mystery the whole way through. You have three suspects and it just isn't clear. The love story is good. And the little. Girl is precious.
