After the death of my parents, I had devoted myself to my small business delivering services to metro Detroit. Then Lacey opened the first lesbian bar in the city, a haven for women who love women. At the grand opening, I met Melissa with her beautiful deep brown eyes--love at first sight like my father felt for my mother. She made me work for her love, gave me something to chase. But this thrill was what I was craving, and it even made me change my life for the better. She's everything to me so I'll do whatever it takes to keep her. Melissa thinks she's too much for me, but in reality, I adore everything about her--her wildness, her looks, her magnetism, and most of all, her heart.
Melissa
Visiting the first lesbian bar in Detroit was just to keep an eye on my friend Angela, but when I enter, my gaze falls upon Eden Cummings—a business owner herself—and it's like she steals my heart at first glance. But Angela shows interest and I reluctantly decide to take a step back. My yearning for love overwhelms my sensible judgment and I start doing odd things. Like secretly using Eden's delivery service multiple times to catch a glimpse of her mesmerizing green eyes. Yet, Eden doesn't accept no for an answer. She declares she wants me and will do anything necessary to obtain me. How can I resist this beguiling woman's charms? I can't. And so, I quickly tumble down a rabbit hole of love, lust, and passion that could destroy me forever.
Working Women Small business owners doing crazy things for love! Over the top-absurdly ridiculous!About the Working Women
The Working Women Series features 20 short stories involving independent working women in various career fields finding love in the craziest ways! Women loving women! It's obsessive, love at first sight instalove. Always over the top, absurdly ridiculous, but always with a happy ending.
Jenna is a steamy lesbian romance author of fast-paced instalove romance. Expect them to be over-the-top, absurdly ridiculous–but always with a happy ending.
I adore Jenna Kents insta- love books. They are silly and a little dark. They are always the perfect cute little book in between longer books. They are usually pretty low angst and low/high key obsessive. Are they realistic? Absolutely not! Lesbian billionaires, masculine women, mafia all and all wonderful. This new series with working women instead of billionaires is wonderful.
Another fantastic instalove from Jenna. It was absolutely ridiculous and over the top, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down.
The connection between Eden and Melissa is super strong, and you can't deny their attraction to each other. I liked that we got a glimpse into the other characters soon to come in this series, and I'm so looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I’ve heard of this author before but I don’t think I’ve read anything as of yet. I kinda got whiplash with the speed this went from “hi” in a bar to “she’s my soulmate and I must have her”. Maybe I’m not the audience for this book but…no I’m not gonna go into detail. As I said, not my type of book and leave it at that.
It’s a great short read but I really struggled to understand who was talking to whom. It’s was all over the place in that sense. Very passionate and fast paced but you kind of know that coming into it.
Just give me an Eden! Please where can I find her?
Oh I loved this story so much. I devoured it within a few hours. And I’m going to read it again and again. This story hit so many emotions. I laughed, I cried, and I got butterflies in my stomach.
Eden’s the woman of my dreams. A hardworking woman that goes after what she wants. I don’t know how Jenna Kent does it. She develops the most dominant women of my fantasies.
But Eden isn’t just possessive, she’s loving and attentive to Melissa’s needs. Sorry for the spoiler, but I loved the scene where Eden listened to Melissa when she was upset. The way Eden told her she couldn’t fix her mistakes if Melissa wouldn’t tell her what’s wrong.
I don’t think I’ve ever written a review this long 😂 but now I’m dying for the next book in this series, I’m freaking craving it.
Jenna you are an amazing author! This book is so freaking good!
Another series from Jenna Kent... and I love it! This one is about working class women who find love. Eden and Melissa meet and fall for each other instantly. A little rough start with friends and exes getting in the way, but once they sort through all of that... they are perfect for each other!
Also, I love when characters make appearances in each others' stories...some were already introduced in this one! Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Jenna Kent captivates my eager mind, with the amazing series. I have read almost all her books and cant wait for the next. A 10 🌟, if its possible for the 🔥, steamy, 😜 crazy rollercoaster 😍 love stories. Some angs but a HEA that puts a 😊 on your face.
I like the idea of the working women series. Eden builds her own delivery business. While at the only lesbian bar in Detroit she meets Melissa and her friend Angela. It's a bit of a rom com from there. Melissa thinks Eden likes her friend and she backs away only to start having deliveries every other day just to see Eden. They have some ups and downs, but it end with a HEA.
Good god. I hate to throw around accusations, but I’m pretty sure this book was at Least partially AI written. If not….. I’m even more concerned. Partial DNF, after a couple of chapters I simply skimmed the rest. Awful.
Now I’m usually a fan of insta love but for some reason the desperation between these two was just too much, to the point it became entirely too unhealthy. Insta love and codependency are not one in the same.
I absolutely enjoyed this love at first sight love story. Melissa and Eden both fall hard, and it’s a wonderful ride watching them get from point A to point B.
That is Eden by herself, but when it comes to Eden and Melissa, I must say that I liked them and I did laugh at times! Have you ever gone into credit card debt so that you can see someone you like without them knowing it was you??
