This Valentine Novella is perfect! Another 5 ⭐️ read for me by Valerie, she just doesn’t miss!
Clementine is a botanist trying to recreate a love potion her family created years ago and lucky number 69 is a success🤭
Quinton is a prince to his families perfume empire and is on a mission to recreate a scent that has a specific flower in it, it just so happens Clem’s family is the answer😏
This had me smiling the entire time I read it, it’s a fun, sexy, banter filled, insta love obsessed choice for Valentines day 💖
I love novellas because they’re short and smutty, Valerie totally did her thing with this one. Can’t wait to see what else she comes out with 😍❤️

This was the perfect short but sweet series starter novella! I was absolutely stuck on Sacred River and everything about it from page one.
I LOVE a witchy romcom and this one was all that AND spice, so obviously it was perfection. Getting to know Clementine and her family was so much fun and I love her and Quinton together.
I love that this serves as a sweet little introduction to the series and sets us up in Sacred River with its inhabitants and shows us a little of the magic system.
I was so excited to be able to pick up Karaoke Chemistry right after finishing this because it absolutely left me wanting MORE! This is going to be an amazing series.

Valerie Pepper is by far one of my favorite authors.
I was so excited to be apart of her ARC team yet again (×3)! Love Potion No. 69 is a short, spicy, instalove, novella! It is a part of the Fourteen Shades of Red Valentines Day release, where there will be other books in the release! However, I believe this is the start of a new series Valerie is writing so I am super excited!!!
I loved this novella! It was short and sweet and fun and magical! Clementine is a botanist who has been trying so hard to perfect her family's old Love Potion recipe for many years. When the elders in the family passed away there was no trace of the ingredients. In enters Quinton. Quinton is a puzzle piece in a family known for their perfumes/ fragrances, and his job is to obtain the super rare Elysian Blossom Seeds, which Miss. Clementine has in her possession, as it only grows on her family's land. When they meet, Clementine is instantly attracted to Quinton. Their chemistry is so refreshing in this book, he isn't a bad guy, just a heir on a mission, but is the Potion the reason for their instalove?
I really want more of Quinton and Clementine!!!! I really wanted a full novel because it was just that good! It was adorable and different and in the best way! I loved the magical element in the book, I definitely think Valerie Pepper nailed this book and all of its glory! I cannot wait for all of you to read it!!!!

Love Potion gave me serious Practical Magic(one of my favorite movies) vibes! I’m so glad I got a chance to read Valerie’s novella because it’s a series started for her new series coming out late Spring 2024. I can’t wait to see how her new series turns out!

I really enjoyed the story line on this one, but one thing that got me was like your saying I love you the next day after you met someone!! I get the instant connection and love that he falls hard and fast but saying I love you straight up was like woooah hold on a damn minute. But for this Novella it fit perfectly really, with the whole love potion and purfume king storyline.
This book gave me total witchy vibes in the best way possible and the spice was everything you want and more!! I can’t wait to see what Valerie writes next.

I really enjoyed reading this novella! It wasn't too spicy, but I still liked it 😊 I also kind of felt witchy vibes from it which I loved! It was a strange way for the main characters to meet but I loved how it played out 😍

I'm not usually the biggest fan of insta love, but with the magic & witchy vibes .. it totally made sense and I was obsessed.
I can't wait to continue the series and read about all of the FMC's sisters.

Clementine is a botanist and her and her family arguably has witchy powers.
Quinton is in the perfume business.
The whole plot centers around a flower called the Elysian Blossom. Clementine and her family are the only ones who have the seeds to the flower in the world (the flower only blooms once every 100 years). The Elysian Blossom is key/secret ingredient to a love potion in which Clementine is trying to recreate. Quintons family wants the Elysian Blossom seed to harness it to make a special edition of a perfume. Because Clementines family is the only one who has the seeds, Quinton travels to her to try to get the seeds for the perfume.
When they first meet, it is on a stormy night and Clementine is finalizing batch No. 69 of the love potion (spoiler: it is successful) and both Clementine and Quinton experience a love at first sight type of experience. However, is it because of the love potion or is this a once in a lifetime type of ‘love at first sight’ love….you will definitely have to read it to find out! ;) Because I have a background in science/chemistry myself, I LOVED this perspective of the female main character!
Normally, novellas scare me when I read them because I always feel that the characters aren’t really developed and everything seems rushed. HOWEVER, this was absolutely not the case with this novella. There were certainly areas that could have been written so the novella turned into a full length novel, but this novella was very well developed with their personalities and chemistry. I hope that there is a possibility that we will see more of these characters and back story in other novellas/full length novels!
This was a very very good read to get you perfectly in the mood for Valentines Day! It can be found in the Fourteen Shades of Red Romance Collection.

Omg this book, wow just wow. It was the perfect start to the new sacred river series. It took me a fast paced rollercoaster ride, filled with humour, desire, love and much more. I couldn't put it down. It did have me wishing for more as I couldn't get enough of Quinton and Clementine.
Clementine is a botanist, she's been working hard for a while now trying to recreate her family's love potion. All 68 tries have failed but she's not giving up. Oh no sir. Her mind wanders sometimes thinking about her prince charming, but she scoffs when will she have the time to meet anyone let alone her prince. She lives with her family, mother and sisters in a small chaotic home, but she wouldn't change that for the world. She gets a text from a man that keeps bugging her for the Elysium blossom seed. She keeps telling him NO but he won't take the hint.

Quinton had taking over his familys perfume business, it's coming up to their 150th anniversary and he really needs the blossom seed to make their special edition perfume, his family is counting on him. Quinton was such a sweetheart, and fell hard for his woman! This one is spicy, as their chemistry is out of this control!!

I love novellas in generally because they’re short and fast, Valerie the author, totally did her thing with this one. Can’t wait to see what else she comes out with 😍❤️

Oh my did I love this story, it's honestly one of my top favorites in the Fourteen Shades of Red series. This novella gives off extremely strong practical magic vibes but with all heat and spice. I loved clementine and how she was sweet but one look at Quinton and that switch flipped. As for Quinton, he is a man who knows what he wants. He is very hilarious also, I definitely cackled while reading this. The side characters were wonderful and I can’t wait to read about the other Rowan women! I will say at some points I found myself wanting more from descriptions and more back story. However, this is a 86 page novella so that is not feasible. But the story is definitely set up and hopefully we get to know more about the backstory of the Rowan family in the coming books in the Sacred River series!

Once upon a time, there was a botanist who was tired of her sisters treating her like a baby, so she decided to recreate the famous love potion her family was once known for. Except the potion was never written down, and the botanist’s mother only remembered how it smelled instead of what was in it, which was supremely unhelpful. So the botanist toiled day after day in her greenhouse laboratory, her only exposure to sunlight the rays that came through the glass surrounding her, and definitely no prince to speak of.
‘Entitled Canadian Asshole’ is probably my favorite part. This was a very short but very cute little story (it's just meant to be a series starter). I died laughing at how quickly they came together during the storm that may or may not have been started by her sisters. I truly enjoyed the fact that they both knew what was going on but only Q would admit it. I got to read the arc for the next book and it's seriously going to be a fun series. Especially with all the teas. I swear all the daughters misunderstand their mothers intentions lol. I truly hope we get Hazel to come back at some point.

This is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Cute, smexy, funny and a little bit of a mystery! Clementine is determined to remake the love potion her family is known for, using a flower that only their family has access to. Clem is so brilliant - her work as a botanist is clearly inspired. Quinton works for the family perfume business, renowned for his sense of smell and determined to make the perfume that rocketed the company to fame in time for the 150th anniversary. He only needs one ingredient… a special flower. Clementine has given him enough of a run around on the phone, so he decides to argue his case in person. This is a classic example of a fantastically written love at first sight. When they meet, their chemistry doesn’t simmer, it explodes!!!! Neither of them plan for the instantaneous attraction they feel for each other. I loved this novella - the writing is amazing and you totally root for both the characters immediately. I haven’t been a big fan of insta love before but romcoms like this completely changed my mind. Valerie is one of my fave romcom authors - she never fails or disappoints!

I was very thankful to receive an advance copy of this novella by Valerie Pepper to read and give an honest review. Honestly….I LOVED IT!! It was a short, but sweet (and spicy) story centered around Clementine and Quinton. The insta-love trope was a really refreshing read for me, as most of the other books I have read make the characters really work to win over their love interests. I love both ways, to be truthful, but I just don’t see this one done nearly as much. Even though it was a short novella, the characters really came alive and captured my interest immediately. So much so, that I kept thinking that this should be a series - with each sister getting her own book! Imagine my surprise after the epilogue, when the author’s note mentioned that it is, in fact, a starter novella for a series! I am very excited to read more about these characters and this world in the future!

Please understand I'm clearly the outvoted opinion. I just think this book wasn't for me.
The FMC isn't described until page 36. I've already had the opportunity to picture her the way I want. Describe up front or the rest of the time your character is not going to be how you envisioned for each reader. Too many "wtf happened" moments for me. Such as one chapter, they start out in a school, how did the MMC get there? Why was he there? We knew why the FMC was there. To all the sudden, they are having sex. At the end of that chapter, they explain they are in MMC Hotel room, but you went the whole time not knowing how the scenes connected. This should not be a novella. It is not put together in a short time frame. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just suggesting that it should be elongated and fill in the gaps to where it makes sense. I definitely feel that with the mom and sister described that this should be a drawn-out series of its own.
I have too many unanswered questions. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.

She's been constantly bothered by a man in Canada asking about her plants. When Quinton and Clementine finally meet, their connection is electric.
Love Potion No 69 is an enemies to lovers, instalove romance with a touch of witchcraft. I normally don't like instalove stories, but this one actually worked for me. From the moment Quinton and Clementine meet, they have an instant, hot connection that they feel deep down to their souls, and they can't explain why. They just know they're meant to be together. This was such a unique read that's not like anything else I've ever read. I loved every minute of it.

This novella was so cute and fun but also spicy. I was so happy to read that this was just the beginning of stories set in this town, I definitely want more. I really enjoyed the plot line and how the story played out. Clementine and her family have these magical gifts that come into play throughout the story. Clementine is a scientist and has been trying to make a love potion for some time but has no luck until Quinton shows up. Quinton’s family is in the perfume business and clementine has a flower that they family needs, and that’s how they meet. They instantly fall in love thanks to the love potion and things get hot very quickly. There are a few spicy scenes and they are open door but nothing too wild. I appreciate the amount of spice, there was plenty for such a short story. I really enjoyed clementine’s family, I look forward to seeing more of them in the future novels and seeing more of clementine and Quinton.
