A cozy holiday read full of festive fun with all the characters you've come to love in the Good Things Come series. When Faye met Will, all she wanted was a fling. Someone to get her over the guy she made the mistake of falling for and remind her why it's safer to never get attached. But her heart had other ideas, and two and a half years later, here they are.
Everyone's pestering them to get married. Easy for them to say, with their shiny perfect relationships. Faye's attached to Will quite enough, thank you very much. She doesn't need something shiny on her finger to prove it.
Besides, Will's kept one foot in the city, while Faye is committed to the small town café she runs. Thanks to Will, who arranged the takeover — and no thanks to Will, who she'd thought would be helping her.
Instead, counting down to Christmas Faye's trying to keep her head above water, with events to plan, baking orders to fill, charities to support — and oh, did she mention she agreed to help her very undomestic best friend pull off Christmas dinner for her family? Why, Faye?
All Faye wants is for the mad seasonal rush at the café to be over so she can have a nice, quiet break on the farm — and finally figure out what's wrong with her and Will. But when Will announces his mother is coming for the holidays, it might be the final straw — sending her running back to the damaged version of herself she thought she left behind.
Read the whole series!

After many years of working at the racetrack, Linda now manages a small herd of retired racehorses, who usually give her enough time off to paint and write. She lives on a small farm in Southern Ontario with the horses and her Border Collie and is best known for her art, which can be seen at www.lindashantz.com
I absolutely adore Will and Faye and was so excited to read a new story featuring these two as “All The Little Things,” was one of my favorites in this series of Linda’s. I am a horse girl, and love all the racing and horse elements of the other stories but I am a romance reader at heart so these just make my heart so happy to read.
This one did not disappoint in the love department. I love how Linda writes the story as if you are right there with her characters as they navigate their ups and downs as the story continues.
I loved how seamless this story wove into the timeline of “Horse of the Year,” and yet, I feel like I missed nothing while reading HOTY. Linda is a wonderful and true storyteller and artist.
I was sad to reach the end of this one and could have happily kept reading the daily lives of Will, Faye and the rest of the crew who surround them.
I fell in love with these characters from the beginning, and I was super excited to have it finally be Faye’s turn. It was fun to see Faye go from spicy bug chaser to growing into loving Will (who should have just been another fun fling!). True love has been found, but as usual life gets in the way. Love is taken for granted, help isn’t offered, promises not kept, and worries if your love can be truly relied upon…. Then throw in meeting the future in-laws including Dr. Momster in law (or will they even ever be that?) at the insane time of Christmas while juggling friends, the cafe and watching your best friend and her sister in their nauseatingly sweet romances and it’s a Christmas miracle that Faye doesn’t have a complete break down and run screaming for the hills. Instead she digs in her stubborn and now adult heels and goes after all that she really wants, complications and consequences be damned. Loved it!
As a privileged beta reader I was happy to learn that Linda was expanding her story to include the supporting cast of her Good Things Come world. Faye & Will sit on the outside of the horse world, looking in because of their connection to the main characters but have always intrigued me. Getting to know Faye better explained why her earlier relationships failed and had me rooting for her in an "underdog" kind of way. Don't get me wrong Faye is anything but an underdog, but love and commitment didn't seem to be in the cards. All that is about to change..... So pick up a copy and add it to your library. Can't wait for the next installment of a series that envelops you like a warm blanket on a cold winter night.
Shiny Little Things was the perfect end to the Good Things Come series. Faye Taylor was introduced in the first book, and I found her aloof and self-serving. Once again, author Linda Shantz created a character with many layers. By the time Will was introduced, I was rooting for the couple. Their crazy journey continues in this book with more twists and turns. The author excels in story telling, and the conversations are natural and pull the reader right in. While Shiny Little Things appears to be the end of the series, I would welcome more adventures of all the characters, both human and equine.
