About the author

H.B. Elliott

7 books117 followers
H.B. Elliott is an over-caffeinated book nerd from North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, her two amazing children, a dog that thinks she's a chew toy, and a cat that's ten times more temperamental.

She started writing in her early teens, and was inspired by dark moody legends like Edgar Allan Poe. Art and photography were a staple in her creative development and remains that way into her adulthood. Her main genre and focus is Romance, though she's acquired a good many hats within that spectrum.

Fantasy is a gateway.
Historical fiction is a drug.
Dark romance is non-negotiable.
Love is more binding than the spine of any book.

Elliott is a firm believer in the Savior, and credits all her success to His name.
After all...He's the one who told her she can do all things.

He also still reprimands her on a regular basis of all the smut she continues to read.

Its been 3 years since a book made me cry as much as this one did. Except this time, it was a mix of happy, bittersweet, sad, and heartbreaking tears. I got into Valdaro pretty quickly. The MMCs relationship to start seemed like a reverse grumpy/sunshine (loved it). Luca is a true Prince Charming from the start, I instantly loved him. Arienne needed the character growth before she finally grew on me. Their growth together was super sweet. I absolutely love the side characters, especially Hissifus. There were just so many instances where interactions between not just the MMCs but everyone had me tearing up. Everyone loves each other so much, and their dedication to each other is just heartwarming. The spice was great as well, perfect really. The big twist(s) were a complete shock, but what I really didn’t expect is how broken I’d be at the end. I cried the last 10% of the book, and then had a good cry when it was done. I can’t say I’m not heartbroken because that would be a lie. Valdaro is still an amazing story regardless of how sad I am at the ending. HIGHLY recommend.

Where do I even start? This book was and is hands down a must read! I just want to say thank you to H.B.Elliot for taking me on this journey, the way she hooks you from the first chapter and world building is incredible! The story of love, betrayal, retribution, and forgiveness is just absolutely breathtaking ! The way I fell in love with Ari and want to be like her is beyond words! The romance and spice had me absolutely weak. The friendships and love in this book is just astonishing! Spoiler: 10 out of 10 read the last 4 chapters in absolute tears!!!!!! This will forever go on my shelf as one of my favorite books!

This ancient love story is beautifully written.

The plot was well thought out. The world building was amazing. The character development was terrific.

A princess is a captive in her own home, every decision made for her, her fate planned by others. The prince she's to be wed to becomes her knight in shining armor.

Together they embark on a journey the were destined for, destroy tyranny and make their own path. The tragic ending is heartbreaking, breathtaking, and beautiful.
