A heartwarming, bittersweet romance with a second chance!
Kate and Jon didn't do things the best way the first time around and so led them to a bit of miscommunication. However as their world's colloid again it gives them a second chance.
Jon doesn't want to let this up and swears to show Kate just how important she is and will always be to him. Slowly but surely he wins her back. There are some tough topics covered in this little novella so go in with warning.
Overall is a classi K M Ryan read, it'll be warming your heart, wrapping you up tightly and wishing for that HEA!

Kate and John were best friends with benefits until they weren't. He ghosted her 10 years ago, but running into her at the grocery store has him convinced not to let him out of his life again so easily. Coming back to her home he soon discovers a secret that could shorten their time together, permanently. Is he willing to fight at her side this time?
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have read quite a few books by this author and I have always enjoyed them. The author does a great job of hitting on difficult subjects while still giving the characters dealing with these very real issues a chance at love. I completely enjoyed the book, but it took me a while to get through it. Absolutely nothing against the author or the book, I just happened to receive it directly after my grandfather died of cancer and this book really had me in my feels.
This is a contemporary romance with a real issue that so many people face on the daily. I actually just lost a very good friend of mine this week to breast cancer. Not the cancer in this book, but it is something a lot of people consider taboo or don't write them a happily ever after when the chances of that aren't always the longest.
The book is a sweet, fast read, and completely believable. I will say that I haven't read the first two books in this series, but they don't seem inter-connected or like they have to be read in any particular order. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by not happening to have started with book 1.
The reasons behind them walking away before was also believable. It was a lack of communication and John being an idiot. Got to love it. But, it wasn't anything over-done. It is something we have all been guilty of at one point in time or another. Not what happened per-say, but the not communicating something well enough with someone we care for and things going wrong as a result.

Kate and Jon’s story is a tender and very emotional second chance at love romance. They were young lovers ten years ago until fears, doubts and a seeming betrayal tore them apart. Neither has given their heart to another in the decade since, and even as both have found success professionally, their personal lives are another matter. Jon has tried to find Kate over the years, to apologize for ghosting her and also hoping to reconnect. He has finally found her, but has yet to contact her, when Fate puts her right in front of him again. Even though she agreed to go to dinner with him and let him talk, Jon can see that Kate is much more reserved and more frail than she used to. be. She accepts his apology, and agrees to give him her number, but doesn’t seem to want to see him again. He is not about to let her go now that he has found her again, but that choice may be out of his hands.
Kate doesn’t know what to make of Jon’s reappearance in her life. Truthfully, it is not really registering with her anyways. She has so much more going on in her life. In fact, she is fighting for her life and she doesn’t expect Jon to stick by her, after all he left a decade ago when she was perfectly healthy. As their story continues to unfold, it gives readers a wonderful illustration of redemption and devotion as well as finding the strength to let go of the past to step toward the future.

A bittersweet tale about the power of love and the importance of communication. Kate and Jon wasted such a lot of time because they weren’t open with each other about their feelings and that just made me so sad. Jon’s joy at finally being reunited with Kate was brought low by his discovery of her illness. I wanted to cheer when Jon decided to step up and help Kate through this difficult time, and no matter what, he stuck by her through thick and thin. Being somewhat of a loner, Kate had few friends and was secretly relieved to have Jon look after her, and despite her initial skepticism, Jon brought her walls down through patience and kindness to give them both a second chance.

This book will have you captivated from start to finish. Just make sure you read the warnings before proceeding, the heavy topics approached throughout has been done with complete compassion.

I really enjoyed this quick yet emotional read about second chances with your best friend. Jon and Kate are best friends who accidently fall in love with each other but they don't want to ruin their friendship so they don't become more than FWB. However, their biggest fear comes true when they don’t talk for 10 years. When Jon and Kate finally run into each other again they don’t realize how much they need each other. Kate is going through a medical crisis and Jon wants to be there to help her through it. I’m glad they got a HEA!

Beautiful second chance story.
This is the story of Jon and Kate. Long time friends separated by communication issues and reunited after 10 years. This is a beautiful story of them finding their way back while dealing with challenging health issues. Tissues may be required but worth it. The story was well written and moved quickly. This is a new author to me and I’ll be checking out more of her work.

Great book about second chances. It show us that when love is real, true, unrequire love, it doesn´t matter how long the separation is, those souls will meet again!
I cried, i laugh, i lived with Kate and Jon through their story and i really enjoyed it! It's a quick read so don't be afraid!
Go on and read it...it takes an amazing shot at life being too short!

The story of Jon and Kate is absolutely charming. After years apart, they find each other again and face a whole new set of challenges. Past mistakes are forgiving and the opportunity for a second chance is bright. I loved the characters and their willingness to work through it all together.

Kate and Jon’s story is bittersweet as they struggle to with communication. Theirs is a story of redemption and will truly warm your heart! K. M. Ryan is a new author to me but I really enjoyed her writing style and look forward to reading more of her work! Truly a great read!.

Kate and Jon were friends and then they were more than friends. They were friends who were intimate. They both felt it wasn’t going to work out but Jon ghosted Kate. Later he tried to find her to apologize. But, Kate wasn’t sure how she felt. This is one book in a series of book. It was short but memorable.

This was my first read of this Author. I LOVED the story line. The characters were real and raw and you could feel the emotions that each went through. Whatva connection they share I could not put this book down. The realism of this book and the time the author clearly researched to make it that way shows. I can't wait to read more from this author.

This was a good read but it does have some triggers. If cancer and treatments related to this subject bother you then you might skip this one. I found the book well written and enjoyed it.
