Lauren is a politician’s daughter who was just disown by her parents.
She was out of the house for a couple of years and she build a career as an influencer to support herself and pay her college tuition.
Something happened one night, and a video of her making out with two guys went viral and she lost all her sponsorship.
Lauren has a best friend named Aurora who is married into the Irish mafia .
Theo meets Lauren at Aurora’s father’s funeral. He saves her life after some rivals come in the cemetery guns blazing .
He can’t stop thinking about her and a few months after , she comes looking for a job at his strip club as a last resort to pay her rent .
But he has other plans for her . He hires her to be his girlfriend. He needs a “blue blooded” girlfriend so he can enter the political circle and have access to all the connections a politician friend can give .
I’m a sucker for the arranged marriage trope and I was glad the book went there 🥹.
They really had a connection from the start and the author portrayed it beautifully. It didn’t feel rushed or cringe and I’m happy they weren’t intimate right from the start .
Fast paced , packed with action and steamy scenes , the book made me understand the struggle the main characters went through - why she chose to leave her parents and never look back and why he made the plan and married her .
It was a good and fun read 🤗.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review of this book.
This book for me was brilliant, Lauren and Theos relationship was real and raw. Them together blossoming into something better while navigating the Mafia world was great.
If a spicy, romantic, dark mafia story is what you are after then I would definitely recommend this book.

Thouroughly enjoyed this book, the characters are so so easy to like, they have great chemistry, humour and passion.
A great read and I'm definitely reading the next book in the series.

The Enforcer and the Influencer!
It’s official, Celeste Archeris entirely responsible for my current obsession with Irish Mafia men! This read was sooo good!
In this book: saved by the villain, viral vids, age gap, tattooed and Irish, sweet and innocent, obsessed, Starlight, fake dating, dom/sub, touch her and d!e, revenge, a cherry popped, bdsm and 10 inch pleasures!
The story follows Theo and Lauren. What begins as a crush, leads to an arrangement of fake dating but then things progress into other territory. There’s some secrets, bad guys, lots of lovely spice and a crack shot.
I am well and truly invested in this series and these characters as they have hooked me in and I do not want to get out!! I love the O’Connor men and Theo was just a little bit delicious! I’m already excited about what’s to follow. 100% recommend this series!

This was a nice read, that i devoured in a day, and i enjoyed it, but it i think i’ve been reading so much dark mafia romance that nothing strikes as new for me.
The premise of the cancelled influencer was great, but i was hoping that it would get developed a bit more, let’s be honest, Lauren shouldn’t have been that desperate for a job. Considering she was (probably a marketing major) she could have asked her friends if they could introduce her to something like that. Did she also need to live in a several bedroom apartment? No, but then again, this was done for the plot.
Theo on the other hand was actually a great character, was he an OTT ahole? Absolutely, but he was a loveable one, and while he acts a bit psycho, i still understood his motivation.
Overall, this is a nice read, and if you’re into mafia romance + age gap this is definitely for you! Though for better understanding i’d suggest to read book 1 in the series, though they are standalone interconnected ones.

My Thoughts: Lauren St. Cloud is your typical good girl. She comes from a high-class family that is disappointed with her life choices of being an influencer and not attending Harvard. After a disastrous night out, she has trouble remembering she needs to devise a possible plan for financial freedom as her sponsors quickly dwindle and she refuses to ask for help from her parents. She is given an offer she can't refuse as she hits rock bottom. Theo O'Connor is Caine's cousin, exudes roughness around the edges, loves a good girl, and is the owner of Starlight. What starts as an arrangement escalates into a whirlwind spiral. Lauren and Theo both fight their feelings for one another throughout this book. They're faced with many obstacles. Together, in the end, they fit perfectly for one another. This book is filled with drama, violence, steamy scenes, and twists.

Celeste Archer is a new to me author, but now I want to read her debut novel Twisted Road because the sequel is just that good. I started reading the second I received my ARC copy and I didn't stop until I'd finished it.
I love Lauren's innocence and her sexual awakening. As for Theo he's an alphahole of the best kind. Dark, dominant and possessive *swoons*. If you're looking for a spicy and dark mafia romance book, this is it. Seriously, Lauren and Theo were EVERYTHING.

Even better than Twisted Road! I read it because I saw the snippet on tiktok about Lauren's "first time" and oh my god! It was so hot! I think I've read that chapter like 3 times in the past week, lol. Don't judge me just read it for yourself ;)
