Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
As the fifty-fourth installment of the series reaches avid readers, we find that, like a fine wine, Tanner ages well. With new strategies, tricks and an economy of physical effort our hero/assassin continues to terrorize those who need to be eliminated. Leaving family, friends, and home in Texas gets harder as Cody morphs into his Tanner persona and heads to San Diego and Barcelona to take on evil foes deemed untouchable. This time the plans are more intricate as he works his magic. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and voluntarily provided an hour review.
What an imagination this author has! He has come up with another, unique way for Tanner to fulfill his contract. Reminton Kane always amazes me with a new way to kill. Tanner wants a challenge, and he gets it in his new target who is supposed to be "unkillable". Assassins before Tanner have tried and failed and died for their failure. Now it's Tanner who is going to try. You'll be surprised at the twist in this book. Definitely recommend this new Tanner novel.
I was very disappointed in Tanner Novel 54. It lacked the bite and authenticity of all the previous books. I found it quite lacking. Perhaps it was written too quickly, or Remington Kane didn't write this one. I'm an avid Tanner fan. I hope the subsequent volumes will bring back the Tanner fire!
I know and enjoy the far-fetched Tanner stories but this one really does stretch credulity into the banal. The concept of implanting a bomb in any person to kill another is both ridiculous and quite macabre. Come on, stick to your normal modes of having Tanner dispose of evil people. Don't delve into the realms of the macabre - I enjoy your usual yarns too much.

Tanner find someone that needs to be put down. He just needs someone to hire him to do it and out of the blue he does. An interesting storyline the touch is on doing the ethical thing or doing what needed to be done and it wasn’t until the end that it actually made sense why he made the choice he did. This was a really good book.
What a great read never disappoints as this is the 54 novel .The Author has a great mind thinking up different ways to kill his subjects . But did he achieve his goal ? Soo looking forward to next book as always .
It is truly amazing that after 54 books on the same character a story still can capture you. I Like how he adds to his character’s growth with others helping him and him relying on others.
Thank you Mr. Kane. I look forward for the next 54.
You are my favorite author and you didn't disappoint me, with this book it was exciting and titillating. And I love the characters, especially the institution characters
This Tanner story is longer, fuller and more satisfyingly complex with greater realism and ingenuity than most of the latter half of the series. A return to depth and novelty, I like it.
Tanner is one of my favorites in reading about. Remington Kane, I don't know how you keep coming up with Tanners solutions to rid the world of evil, but oh man you are the greatest! If you are looking for a series that blocks out all other thoughts, then this is just one of the many that will do just that. Tanner is amazing every time and the older he gets he just gets better. When I started to read this story I knew I wouldn't be sleeping or doing much else until this one was on the last page. Talk about fast paced reading!
