First, thank you to the Author, Tanya Lynn, for letting me be an ARC reader for this book! I adore monster romances, and I was extremely interested in this story when I saw the ad for ARC readers! I apologize for posting my review a couple days after release!
We meet the main characters in pivotal moments in their lives. Russel, the Orc/Kraken hybrid who is currently dealing with demon issues in his world, and Brooke, who is finally escaping her dreadful parents into a life she prefers. Both these characters longing for someone or something else to bring more meaning to their lives. Once they make the inevitable contact with each other, they realize they are mates.
Packed into this short book, we see two mates connect with each other to defeat an enemy. Their chemistry is interesting to read, and their romance is even more fun to take in! I enjoyed the side/supporting characters, and the bit where Brooke is into reading. I loved her second life, and how it correlated to who she was meant to be with her mate. The smut was AMAZING to read as well! Beautifully written!
The romance does moves quite quickly, but I'm okay with this since it's just short read. Though, I do wish there was more romance between the two main characters than what was written. I feel like a lot of the book focuses on the background plot going on, which was undoubtedly entertaining to read, but I felt like it pulled away from the actual romance aspect of the book. The plot aside from the smut did have some cringy parts, though it was all still entertaining to me!
I would have loved to see this play out in a longer timespan, and learned more about the characters, and the conflicts. A longer book would help with the rush of the romantic relationship, as well as avoiding some of the cringy parts. There is a lot of story here, a lot of potential to build a beautiful monster world!
I give a big applause to this author for her creative storytelling, as often times I feel like I'm reading the same story over and over again. She truly brought out the beauty of what a monster romance can do with plot, and interesting smutty scenes! The reason we read monster smut is so we can get something ~different~ than what we typically read, and Tanya delivered! Tanya Lynn is a new author I will definitely be following for future releases!

I was super excited to read this book. It really drew my attention with the interesting plot of fated mates, adventure and mystery. The book needed a bit more development, it had opened a new world and I needed more information. I wanted to know more about H.A.T.E and the Orc/Kraken hybrids, and how this all came to be? I truly believe that this could have been a full novel that had all the components that make a great story.

Gleeful Goblin Review: This book's FMC really stole my heart early on because of how alone and isolated she feels from her family of origin since that's how I felt as well (although I grew up poor instead of affluent like she did). "Once I’m home, I slip up the steps, avoiding anyone and everyone. My taste will never be the same as theirs. The fancy food, proper etiquette, the posture, and the linens folded just right. I look forward to departing tomorrow. The ticket sits on my desk, along with my passport. My suitcases are practically packed, and leaving almost all my possessions here will hopefully set me free by breaking the chain to this house that haunts me. When I’m in the safety of my bedroom, I grab the bag of crab Rangoon. I’ve decided, for tonight, I will eat my bodyweight in the crispy, cream cheesy goodness because my trusty friend Google tells me Scotland has none. Most of my stuff is going to be donated. I don’t want everything in this closet—half of it I’ve never even worn or will ever want to. There are always new clothes perfectly tailored to the body my mother wishes I had, and itchy fabrics that are as stiff as their smiles showing up in my closet. All I need to do is pack my precious Kindle in my carryon bag, along with the paperwork needed. My parents exhaust me. I think they mean well, but most of the time I know they think I’m a mistake. I’m not proper enough and my body isn’t lithe like the girls I went to school with. Mother always shushes me, like I’m about to say something inappropriate or that I’ll make a fool of my family. Father is similar, except he does it from behind a screen, a phone, any layer of protection from showing love. During my childhood, he made a point of staying far away from me. Having a privileged upbringing is often romanticized, but it has left me feeling confined, like a caged bird. Even the tutors that came over the years never gave me any sort of experience to show me what a normal family should be like. Popping a piece of food into my mouth, I savour the sweetness of the sauce and the saltiness of the cheese. I’m going to miss this food, even if my hips won’t. My thoughts make me laugh out loud. I know I’ve always been the curvy friend, the one who has bigger hips than everyone else. Since I was a young girl, my mother has enrolled me in countless diet programs, desperate to make me lose weight. She is in the gym running on the treadmill every day and if it makes anybody as unhappy as it makes her, I sure don’t want it. I’ve never understood why I’ve never been good enough for her to love, and as much as I try it’s an impossible feat."
So, to have this be her starting point and then making a new life for herself in small ways like her hair and big ways like love with a certain Orc/kraken hybrid it's truly a delightful and pretty emotional ride. 5/5 Stars

Brooke went to Scotland years ago and was drawn to the Loch Ness. She is on her way back to Scotland as her parents want her to go to medical school. She feels like her parents don’t know her at all. While is Scotland she cuts her hair and dye it green. She also added piercing to her cheeks.
While touring the castle she goes to the restrict area and attempts to get by the water, by accident she falls in, can’t believe that she is breathing under water. She is rescued by Russell who is an Orc-Kraken hybrid her mate. She feels so comfortable with Russell. While Brooke and Russell share time and intimacy with each other.
Brooke learns that her family line is into the demons, and she must eliminate them, or she may never see Russell again. She has no great loss for her parents.
Will Brooke be able to get rid of the threat or will she not come back to Russell. Sweet love story of two opposite people who love each other.

Brooke and Russell make a very interesting couple. Brooke is human but finds out she can actually breath under water since she is mated to Russell who is a hybrid between an orc/kraken. Brooke finds out that Russell and his friends work for an organization that hunt demons. Just so happens her parents are the bad guys. Brooke does what she needs to, to be with her mate and help dispose of the demons.
I do wish that we had more storyline on how great Brooke and Russell could work as a team to rid the world of the demons, but maybe Tanya has plans for the future (crosses fingers).

The only thing better than this book being written by one of my favorite humans is its MFC based off of one of my favorite booktok personalities! Knowing how much Brooke loves monster romances, I squealed and delight when I found out, she was getting her very own monster romance!
In this book, Brooke parents suck but do her a solid and ship her off to Scotland without even realizing they are sending her to live a life she would want…but not the med school they want. Russell is in the middle of a demon problem and a member of the HAE and he just happens to be half orc, half kraken.
This book is short but delightful and filled with fantasy, smut, wittiness, a green haired beauty who helps fight demons and monster peens. I just wish it was longer!

This was my first book by this author, and I can say that I am hooked. I truly enjoyed the story and would even recommend this as a good palate cleanser. The author made it easy to fall in love with the characters: orc-kraken hybrid Russell and a human, Brooke. He found what he most desired in the world, and she found some to care for her and put her first. This was all a shock to her since her parents did not show her any true love. This made it easy to choose Russell and not think twice when she was asked to take of her parents, that turned out to be evil. Good story, easy to follow only this is that I wish I would have seen their story develop more and have them battle evil together.

I thought I was getting into an Orc and Human
Story - oh nice this was a lot more lol He is an Orc/Kraken! The FMC is leaving for school and plans to stay in the beautiful Scotland area. She never really felt like she fit in at home anyway so it's time to move on. When she arrives, she changes her appearance to what she has always wanted and she ventures to the water side where she felt at peace in her previous adventure only to find out that she has a mate who just happens to be a demon hunter also. This was an interesting world that Tanya built and I hope she continues to the story.

Omg the fact that this is dedicated to Brooke is AMAZING! I love the spicyness! The fact that this was a hybrid Orc and Kraken definitely had an amazing twist to it!! Definitely couldn’t put this down at all! I cannot wait to see if there is a second one!

This novella reads like my hottest hentai inspired fever dream and I love it. Adult FMC takes back her agency, finds love, kicks ass, and gets railed by a loving tentacle monster with "special equipment". Keeping in mind that this is intended to be a fast paced novella I can forgive the feeling that some scenes are rushed and there are essentially a few jump-cuts but if that would bother you consider this 4 stars.

I had a fun time reading this one. As this is a short book, naturally the plot progresses quickly, but it wasn’t lacking the detail at all. I personally think this would make a great full novel, as it has some great backbone to the plot. The characters are lovable and very nice and bubbly, but also have depth to them when needed.

Unbreakable Desires was a fun and unique little monster romance read. This was kind of my first monster Orc Kraken Hybrid like this read, and I enjoyed reading it! The fact that Russell had his eyes on Brooke for so dang long, while Brooke felt the pull to him, and I mean who doesn’t like some Tentacle action 😏. All in all it was great monster romance read, and I highly suggest it if you enjoy the monster romance genre!

This was a really fun story and I adored both of the main characters. I had never read a monster romance featuring a hybrid monster before and I really enjoyed it. Both of the characters had to overcome so much, but they had each other and their love was really beautiful. Also the spicy elements were very spicy which I enjoyed very much. Would highly recommend if you enjoy monster romance, fated mates, insta love and spicy elements. Thank you to Tanya Lynn for the ARC of this story.

All the stars! This is a monster romance novella, meaning it is fast paced. The story lines moves very quickly. Often times with novellas, it can feel as though there should be more to the story. This is not one of those. While it is short, the story is very well developed.
I loved the relationship between Brooke and Russell. It's sweet and instantly I fell in love with these characters.
Highly recommend this book.

this book was definitely a hit with me. i love tanya as an author and this proves she can write for any genre. i loved the special peen with the hybrid orc/kraken. and brooke was my favorite character with her green hair and piercings. i loved the fated mates and that brooke read smut ... definitely recommend this to monster romance lovers 10 out of 10

This was my first Orc Kraken hybrid read and I must say it was interesting.
I loved the way Russell had been pining for Brooke for so many years, and the way Brooke always felt pulled to Scotland. They are a great love story with a great HEA!
I am a fan of Tanya’s and will read anything she writes! Her writing style has a way of pulling you in and keeping you coming back for more!

A fun fast paced, spicy read. If you like orc and kraken then you definitely need to read this monster romance. It’s definitely a fast burn, nearly insta-love story. A few points felt a bit rushed durning the climax, but maybe cause I just didn’t want to book to end. I enjoyed how Brooke and Russel interacted with each other and how she fully embraced her life with him.

I feel like this story has so much potential but at the same time, it just wasn’t for me. It felt rushed and it took me longer to read than I had anticipated bc I just couldn’t get into it and couldn’t connect with the characters. I think if there was more of a background or story building, I may have been more interested in the storyline but overall everything felt kind of rushed

Unbreakable Desires is an absolutely adorable love story with tentacles and double the fun. I related to the FMC a lot. Definitely a great intro book into the monster world for me. Right amount of spice and great plot. Definitely give it a read.

This was actually a cute short story if im being honest. A lot of monster romances are full of smutt, but this one had a very good storyline. It was a good refresher and break from some of the heavier books I tend to read.

I love the orc/kraken hybrid! I haven't seen anything like that before. The story line and characters were well done. It just felt rushed. I could have used another 100-200 pages easily and loved every page of it.

Brook is such a sweet kick ass human who has a pretty messed up family that is into some pretty shady shit. Will she do the impossible to save her future with Russell her handsome hybrid mate?
