Greek kids 5 to 12 will be inspired by the remarkable life of Hypatia! Her story is written in two languages, English and Greek, which will help young readers to further embrace their Greek heritage.
The period of Late Antiquity (circa 300-640 CE) has been described by many historians as the “transformation of a world”, forming the transition from the classical to the Christian world. At the epicenter of this transition is Alexandria in Egypt. And this is where Hypatia was born.
Hypatia was the most educated woman in the ancient world, one of the most skilled mathematicians, among the first to believe and try to convince people that everyone should be equal and have access to education. This is why she is considered one of the greatest scientists and the greatest women of antiquity.
