I never expected to be kidnapped by aliens. It’s never off the table, not when there are scumbags like the Skulchers whose sole purpose is to make a profit off trafficking. And Terran—human—women? We fetch a high price. But as the twelve other captees and I escape, our stolen ship starts to fall apart. And it’s up to me to fix it. Flying through an asteroid field is dangerous as is—but flying through it while you’re on the outside of the ship? Downright terrifying. When the ship needs to make an emergency landing on an uncharted planet, I’m forced to abandon ship. I lose consciousness as I parachute off, and when I come to? I’m no longer alone. This muscled, purple alien may be a barbarian, but he’s also got two tails and a crystal embedded into his forehead. Oh, and did I mention he can shapeshift into a wolf? And yet despite the language barrier and anatomy differences between us, all I can think about is getting wrapped up in those purple arms…CELESTIAL RESCUE is a short story and teaser for the Celestion Wolves series. An alien wolf-shifter romance series, with fated mates, rival wolf packs, and cinnamon roll alien men, this story is perfect for fans of Ice Planet Barbarians, first time sci-fi romance readers, and anyone who wants their werewolves to be out of this world!
I read book one before diving into this prequel and either book could be read first without spoiling anything for the other. I did get more background in the first book. That said, I enjoyed this little snippet of Meg's story! It honestly gives me a peace of mind to know that she's safe aaaand, it makes me soo curious about what is to come with her and Kyp. This novella ends on an abrupt note as a cliffhanger of sorts, but it's nothing that's anxiety inducing. Trust me, I am not one for cliffhangers. But this one was done in a way that makes it manageable and that makes you want to read on.
Getting back to Kyp, I am sooo curious about his background and definitely want to know more about his pack. When we meet Kyp, he's on his way to warn the Snowscapes of danger that's on the horizon, but gets sidetracked in saving Meg. This makes me so curious to see where their story will lead and how that danger will come into play. I also loved that he looked a little different from the Snowscapes, which created a sense of diverse culture in this world. Needless to say, the series is a lot of fun so far!
This story was fast moving, and action packed. There was sexual tension in the air as soon as the two main characters met in the “flesh”. Human and alien shifter meeting on a planet after a crash, due to an escape. The writer describes the setting and characters with details that you can picture it all in your head. The ending got me wanting more about the main character’s romance and how it will develop.
