I have devoured many books by C.W. Farnsworth and I am still at a loss as to what the secret receipt she uses to mold her books is. they're always engaging in a fast-paced tone that encourages you to read the entirety of the book in one sitting. All The Wrong Plays is no exception to the rule, it dove into an interesting and tumultuous plotting combining and blending deliciously these arcs together:
Will, the male main protagonist who also was a reputable american 'soccer' player, made an irreparable mistake while playing too foolishly with his playboy persona and was terminated from his anterior team's contract. he had no other choice than to flee overseas to be part of an European, German team in quest of a fresh start because of the over-exposure and media coverage surrounding his career jeopardy and there, in Kluvberg, was Sophia the female main character, a football heiress who seemed to be immersed into every infime aspect of his novel life.
i loved Will and Sofia’s relationship because the narrative's embrace of their relationship's, commencing with the very first phrases, was refreshing. how they conversed nonchalantly on their first encounter. than how their relationship sauntered into friends with her endeavoring to acclimate and welcome him into the new city by showing him her favorite spots and helping him create his own space in his bare apartment. how their friendship derived a iota into friends with benefits with him teatching her how to be properly pleased. later on, the relationship curved into a healthy and well-developed one. through mature and well-sinked discussions regarding them and their future. and, realistically depicted disputes followed by blushing make out scenes.
all in all, it was a entertaining read with endearing protagonists and the beautifully portrayed bond blooming between them! hopefully we’ll get a third book in this series, im honestly intrigued in Will’s brother and hope he’ll get his own happily-ever-after after what he went through this book !

this is me begging this author to write a virgin mmc 🥺🙏🏼
this book follows the other half of the Beck siblings. Sophia is known as the party girl that moves on from guy to guy with no real sense of what she wants to do in her life until she finds photography. Will is a hotshot soccer (football) player that has been shipped off to Germany after a sex scandal broke out. they meet before realizing he is her brothers new teammate but naturally can’t stay away from each other… and Sophia temporarily taking over to photograph the football games doesn’t help

now i am aware that most (if not all) of C.W’s mmcs are whores but she usually makes the fmc experienced as well…. i guess the tiny silver lining here is Sophia is an “everything but-“ virgin 🙄 she’s only ever tried with one person but found out he was going to tape them and she hasn’t fully trusted anyone since. tbh makes no sense since people could tape her doing many other things but… whatever.
i guess she couldn’t do two books in the same series playboy x playgirl without practically just rewriting Beck & Saylor’s book
anyway you hear about his past like the whole damn time we get it. he has tons of sex with tons of women. you would think he would take a break from all the sex & women after a scandal of sleeping with his team owners WIFE (he didn’t know.. but still) comes out but NOPE. poor Will goes on a self pity parade through women before leaving for Germany. it’s such a hardship for him to have been celibate since he arrived, ends up being two months without sex. the longest he’s ever gone, i feel so bad for him. 🙄they’re all forgettable until Sophia… blah blah blah. i mean the man doesn’t do oral but goes down on Sophia so tiny miracles i suppose.
once Will decided there were more important things than soccer and let Sophia in he was a wonderful boyfriend. i did enjoy him as a character i just wish we weren’t reminded of his past so much

“Will Aster is dangerous. And it’s not his cocky smirk or the tattoos that tell me I’m in trouble. It’s how I’m suddenly sure he’s not only the guy you can’t easily forget. I’m certain he’s the guy you never get over.”
I love a good sports romance but especially the teammates sister trope. Add in the fact that said sister absolutely despises the sport you play??? Oh, the drama of it all.
I haven’t read too many soccer romances so this is definitely going to be a go to rec for anyone that needs it. When friends to lovers is done right, it can be SO good. C.W. Farnsworth absolutely nailed Sophia and Will’s friendship dynamic. The tension and angst was always at the forefront but their friendship and the buildup to what they become in the end was so special. Reformed playboy is always a fav of mine and Will Aster is the yummiest of them all.
Will and Sophia were the most perfect slow burn. The tension between them had me sweating and I was screaming on the floor with their sweet and sexy moments. The last thing I’m going to say is “Section 336. Row E. Seat 4.” Will Aster you are THE man and I’ll think about you always.

This one didn't really work for me. The relationship building was just too fast so I never really felt the connection.
Also, playing soccer in the United States professionally, pays about $350,000. In Europe it's more like 3 million. Will wanting to move back to the states just didn't make sense. He even said how nice their facilities were and how large the fan base was

New top tier sports romance for me. I loved this so much. Will and Sophia are such sweet friends to lovers. There's no denial, no running from each other, no breakups. Just two adults falling in love with some personal and professional obstacles.

I actually hated the first third of this book, but I love CW so I was dedicated to finishing and I’m glad I did. By the mid point I was planning to give it three stars and at about 75% I had fallen in love with it. The MC’s aren’t my favorite and I really struggled with the MMC at the beginning, but they definitely improve as the book goes on. I liked how the drama was limited and also no third act break up!
(And I absolutely loved the glimpses we saw of Saylor and Adler in their married life ❤️).

Yuh, slayed!
I hate how much I ate this up but the two main peeps were a photographer and a soccer player and you expected me not to get invested when that was like my whole personality in high school.
Honestly at the start I was a little iffy, I wasn’t falling into it like past C.W. Farnsworth books (like teh first book in this interconnected series is one of my fave sports romances of all time). Mostly because of a certain “trope” that I give zero flying fucks for, but sure Will worked for it and I was #convinced by the end! Putting aside the machoism eats every time cause I don’t give a single fuck about male bravado.
Anywho, glad to have finally finished a book I can check off on my reading goal because it has been a hot minute.

This story follows Will Aster and Sophia Beck's rollercoaster relationship. After being involved in a scandal, Will moves to Germany to play for FC Kluvberg and rebuild his soccer career. While there, he has to fix his reputation and prove that he is still a valuable player. Sophia is the sister of Adler Beck, a famous player on the team. Having grown up in a family with soccer legends, she has done everything possible to avoid the sport. As part of her photography internship, she is assigned to take photos for the team. Not knowing who he is, Sophia meets Will while at a game. Despite Will's past and her connection to the team, she can't stay away from him. I am a sucker for forbidden, secret romances, and I loved Will and Sophia together. They had amazing chemistry, and I enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship. I loved how they supported each other through all the obstacles they had to overcome. Will and Sophia's story perfectly combines swoony moments, a little drama, angst, and steam.
Narration:
Ryan Hudson and Kasha Kensington performed this story in dual narration. Ryan and Kasha were the perfect voices for Will and Sophia. Both did a wonderful job giving the characters personality and bringing them to life.

🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧
4 ”for the love of the game” STARS! That’s my saying about soccer. I played soccer for most of my childhood and into adulthood, but I stopped playing in any capacity other than “for the love of the game” after graduating high school.
I really enjoyed this story, but it lacked depth. It’s great how it is, hence my 4-star rating, but it had the potential for so much more that it actually hurt my brain when the author didn’t take advantage of the circumstances, she laid out to deepen not just the characters, but the storyline itself.
I’m not giving a play-by-play of what I think should or should not have been part of the story because it isn’t my story to tell. I think this author is very talented and what she chose to put on the page was actually pretty great. She grew both Sophia and Will’s characters as individuals and as a couple nicely. The storyline progressed pretty nicely until it didn’t. LOL I’m not sure why the author chose the ending to be so abrupt, but it really threw me off. In hindsight, I’m thinking maybe the building of their relationship and growth as individuals was the main objective of the story and once that happened, the rest is just implied. Maybe? I honestly don’t know, but I thought the story ended with Sophia winning the contest and what came next was the epilogue. I had to rewind my audiobook to make sure I hadn’t missed the word “epilogue” when the last chapter began. It was a little nuts, but I was just so satisfied with the story at that point that it was barely a blip. *shrug*
🎧NARRATION⇒ Kasha Kensington & Ryan Hudson
I’ve struggled a little bit on how to phrase my audio experience because neither narrator is a favorite of mine but they fit their parts perfectly. Ryan was a perfect voice for Will and Kasha, the same for Sophia. I can’t really explain it, but they really embraced these two characters and matched my perception of them with their narration. I just didn’t expect what they brought to the story and quite frankly I feel a little bit bad that I assumed 10 hours might be too much. I guess I’m just trying to say that you just never know … feel me? lol

This exceeded all my expectations?? It was a really good book! The plot was good, the chemistry was great, no unnecessary drama. I wish the ending was a little less rushed but I can live with it

I have read my fair share of sports romances but never a soccer one and let me tell you! I've been missing out.
Or maybe it's just C.W. Farnsworth's varied storylines. I love her writing and the way she incorporates tropes in a way where it doesn't feel forced.

Sports romance with no third act breakup and a HEA ending. Second book in the Kluvberg series.
This book is delivered to us in dual POV and follows Sophia Beck, sister to Adler Beck, and Will Aster. Will grew up with soccer being his only outlet for an absent dad and sketchy mom. He maybe excel at soccer, but he doesn’t excel at keeping it in his pants. He finds himself in a scandal with his coach’s wife. Shunned from the states, his agent finds him a place on Kluvberg’s soccer (football) team in Germany. Scoping out the team, he meets none other than Sophia. Little did she know that one meeting may change the rest of her life.
As an aspiring photographer, Sophia is still in university and going out weekly with friends. She hates being associated with her last name as her brother and parents are/were soccer royalty. She rather earn respect on her own terms, friends who don’t care about her brother, and a love life that isn’t based on her name.
Will is the bad boy Sophia may need in her life to shake things up!
I liked this book and thought it was enjoyable. However the ending seemed a little rushed but other than that no complaints. A cute read with steamy moments sprinkled throughout. A great friends to lovers and forbidden romance vibes with two ambitious MCs.
I can’t wait to see what is in store next for the series!

omg???? this was so good???? WHO is this author????? i‘m in my football phase right now, so that might be a reason why i liked this so much but this might actually be my favourite sports romance ever! the pacing was PERFECT. great chemistry between the main couple, authentic backstories and personal growth and sooo much entertainment! i can‘t believe how effortless and brilliantly this was written! i think i‘m over my toxic book couple phase, because mature and healthy book relationships like this are so much more enjoyable to read. i love love love everything about it! another hidden gem that i probably wouldn‘t have found if i hadn‘t done any research. probably will read the first part too now!!

I LOVED All the wrong plays. Full disclosure I am a big fan of this author. I actually did NOT read the first in the series first but ran to read it as soon as I was done.
This is a story of two broken people. I think the reader is led to believe the one who needs more work would be the MMC but in actuality he is the one who steps up to teach the FMC how worthy she and the world should see herself as.
If you read the first book first you would see the FMCs background and know more about her but that did not stop me from falling in love with both (and all the side characters).
Loved it, enjoy!

Everything you'd want in a sports romance.
An exiled football/soccer player banished to play in Europe due to a scandal. Naturally he meets the sister of his new team captain, who happens to be a legend and football/soccer legacy because of his parents and his own skill. Sophia, the sister of the team captain has always felt like the black sheep of the family and hates the sport.
Will and Sophia had a meetcute and their relationship progressed naturally from there.
There was jealousy, sneaking around, a strong female lead, good communication, no third act breakup, and a MMC who loved nothing more than the FMC at the end. (Or by the middle)

oh how i love a good sport’s romance…i have been waiting for this book since the author announced that it would be a continuation of this series!
i enjoyed how the characters were written; Sophia was the star of this book, I was so interested in her character since her brother’s book and it didn’t disappoint!
Will was the perfect boyfriend, he’s the typical “bad boy” of the league but we could see the development he has from the beginning to the end; the way he learned how to express his emotions and how he let down his barriers.
if you like a good sport romance, with forbidden love and secret relationships, this book is for you!
Also, thank you to valentine pr and C. W. Fransworth for this arc; i would be looking for the next book!

This book was hard for me to rate.
I love this author. Her writing style is addictive, but I felt the story was really predictable and there was not much to do with it. Actually, it took me a few days to finish because I was not completely into it…
I liked the “Sailor and Beck” updates, but didn’t adore the characters or the story the same way I always do.
However, it’s entertaining, the MMCs background story is cool and different, it can be read as a stand alone. It has lots of good stuff.

felt very formulaic - none of her usual spark
I wasn’t excited for this book because I assumed it was just to fulfill a contract or something. After reading Saylor and Beck’s story, Sophia wasn’t compelling enough to get her own book.
Will was a lot more compelling hence the two stars but their chemistry felt forced and their relationship consisted mostly of lukewarm sex and an unexplained connection.
I love this author but recently it feels like she’s just churning out books to meet a quota and not actually going out of her way to tell amazing stories.

It's a great book to read if you love spicy sports books. I couldn't put this book down and loved every page of it. C.W. Farnsworth is such a talented writer, and I enjoy reading her books every time I can get my hands on them.
Will is in a new country, playing soccer for a new team. After leaving his American team after a scandal broke out about him. The rules to follow from his agent is, No alcohol and no women. He's been doing good. He's having a hard time bonding with his new team because of his own insecurities from the past. He's following the rules, but his first day checking out the team, he meets this beautiful blonde that's sitting in his seat during the summer plays. He gives her his number. Something he's never done before.
Sophia had lived in Germany her whole life. She comes from a famous family. Her brother is the captain of the soccer team, and her father is a soccer, or, as they say, "football" legend. People use her to get close to her family. She's never liked soccer and decides to become a photographer. She's good at it. That so doesn't stop men asking her out to get close to her brother. She had shallow friends who want to be closer to her brother. She's tired of only being seen as Alder Beck's sister.
The book starts with Sophia on a date. He took her to the summer games because he's hoping to meet her brother. He's a big fan. So she's up father in the stadium sunbathing in a seat. Then she meets Will. An attractive man in her mind that's telling her she's in his seat. After a short conversation, she finally goes back to her awful date with Will's number written down on his ticket. Deciding she's not going to use it because he was their to watch a soccer game. She doesn't like soccer.
She runs into Will again at a club, and she can't get him off her mind. She ends up texting him after that night and helps him by becoming his type guide and helping pick out things to buy for his apartment. The attracting is there, and the chemistry is crazy. She ends up staying the night one night because it's late. He helps her with an "issue" to help her go to sleep. After that night, she can't get him off her mind. He's says he doesn't give a f**k who her brother is, that she is her own person. Something no one else had ever cared about.
Issues start to come out for Will about the scandal that caused him to leave in the first place. Then Sophia's brother tells him to stay away from her. He's having confused feelings because he's never felt like this toasts someone before. The only things Will had ever cared about are soccer and his little brother Tripp. Then something happens to Tripp that causes Will to leave the country and go back.
I can relate to what happened with his brother. The same thing happened to me. The author wrote that part so well that it brought back so many memories from my accident. I've never read a book that had my injuries in it. It's like the author took the same thoughts right out of my own head when I learned I was paralyzed and wrote it down.
This book was such a beautiful book. It has real-life past trauma that Will has to work through. It is about a lost and confused man who's never experienced love before. He wants to fit in and be accepted. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to see what this author writes next.

The biggest drawback of this book for me was that I didn't know there was a Kluvberg #1 when I started reading it! I am itching for that story and added it to my TBR immediately. There were lots of little nuances about Saylor and Adler that have my mind reeling in such a fun way.
Now, for Sadie and Will. This story took me by surprise! A few times I was thinking it was going to go into an overly cliche direction, but then these characters (Will especially) showed some emotional maturity that had me melting for him. I appreciated this so much, especially the no 3rd Act breakup, but didn't love the ending so much.
I did love the overall story a lot, and I really liked Will. I liked his Phoenix rising vibe and how he was able to grow as a person. I also really liked how intrinsically motivated he was, and that he didn't rely on Sadie or the relationship to be able to do so. The relationship succeeded because he did, no the other way around.
I do wish time would have been noted a bit more- there were some jumps that took me a minute to process because they weren't stated and that kind of killed the flow here and there. I also wish there was a bit more interaction with side characters outside of their families, because I love a team/friend group situation.
Overall, while there were a few sparkles I wish the book had, I found it enjoyable and fun to read. I liked the setting a lot and really liked when Sadie and Will explored the area.
