Nicole will guide you to discover the alchemy of summer plant foods, especially wild plants by observing and identifying them, collecting them, and finding creative ways of preparing them for safe and delicious consumption. To date I’ve read & thoroughly enjoyed Nicole Cullinan’s “Wild Spring” and “Wild Summer” books, both of which are splendid, creative and informative. A real pleasure to enjoy with beautiful visuals and truly useful for anybody with a keen interest in nature and the fun of using nature in our daily lives, especially in hard copy - I’m certainly looking forward also to the upcoming “Wild Autumn” and “Wild Winter” copies to complete the series!!

This is the second book I have in Nicole's Wild Seasons series. As with the first, the beautiful visuals make it a pleasure to read. You are encouraged to connect with nature and revisit the wild plants/‘weed’ that cross your path. The book is split into 3 sections, Summer Alchemy and Some Science, Sumer Wise Weed Directory and Summer Inspired Recipes. The directory provides a quick check in, providing some facts, edible uses, and how it supports your body. Personally I use this section of the book a lot, double-checking how I could potentially use a plant. Nicole's summer inspired recipes, are as the title suggests....inspiring, helping you rediscover how to use the wise weeds surrounding you in your daily life. I highly recommend this book series to anyone looking to connect with nature (and enjoys delicious food!).

The second season and follow up to Wild Spring follows a similar colourful theme and evidence based format. It is a culinary and apotheric approach to health which bridges the knowledge gap between alternative and conventional medicine. There are more unique and easy plant based recipes using common summer wild plants. Highly recommended if you love nature and healthy food!

Wild summer by Nicole Cullinan is a wonderful book from which I learned a lot about using” weeds” for different healthy purposes and as an addition to my regular meals.
I love the recipes and can’t get enough of the beautiful photos.
A very wise book !
