For three years, I’ve been daydreaming excuses to get my gorgeous, older, mysterious neighbor into my apartment. I was thinking of a burst pipe, small cooking fire, dress that I can't zip up, or a massive sign that said “I adore you, please take my V-card”.
I didn’t think he’d invite himself in to save me.
Mafia thugs came looking for my parents, and money. Hours later, I’m cowering in my wardrobe, still shaking, covered in bruises and dried unthinkable liquids, when soft footsteps echo through my apartment.
My neighbor opens the door and stares down at me, rage curling his lip.
“Who hurt you?”
Before I know it, he’s scooped me up into his arms and taken me to his penthouse.
He won’t let me go, and smiles cynically when I protest he shouldn’t put himself at risk from the mafia.
And I’m beginning to wonder… Who is the most dangerous predator here?
Held by the Bratva is a sweet and spicy age gap instalove romance with a jealous and possessive billionaire mafia boss and the college girl he’s been stalking.
Evie Rose writes gleefully improbable bitesized instalove romances, with heroes who are all-in obsessed for their heroines.
She loves possessive alpha heroes, age gap, tons of spice, forced proximity, pining, and swoony romantic bits. She's the darker alter-ego of bestselling author Eve Pendle.
This one was ok, not my favorite in the series, though. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars, but since it was such a quick read and OTT, I'll go with 3.5.
** possible small spoilers below **

It wasn't explained in the end who her parents were, why were they hiding, how much did they steal, why was the italian mafia after them after sooo many years!? Hence, the drop in the rating. So I wasn't quite a fan of this plot part. Their relationship was fine and everything, but the entire dangerous situation with the italian mafia was just weird, but mainly because nothing happened for 20 years, and out of the nowhere bam, they attack the heroine.
Their relationship was 🥵, but the fact that they both lusted after each other for such a long time but they didn't engage became old really fast and annoying. But this looks like a me problem.
He indeed became instantly overprotective, and her security became his top priority, as it should be!!
Their HEA was sweet, as expected, while the spicy scenes quite hot and steamy, though I personally didn't liked some of the wording used in these scenes, but again, that's a me thing!
I liked that some of the other couples in the series popped into this story 🫢.
What to expect - short and quick read, standalone in the same world as the other books in this series - age gap (22 h, 42 H) - V h, of course (but who knows this series, this is an expected theme), no recent history on the H, but he must be experienced, duh ;) - no OP drama at all, he's all about her her and her (and maybe about their future babies 🫢) - damsel in distress, he saves her and then makes her his - HEA, epilogue

"She doesn’t move, so I hold out my hand, gentle like she’s a scared little cat. Moya koshechka, as I always call in the privacy of my mind. My pussy cat."
--- I just can't, not his pussy cat 😂😂😑
"Fuck. A billion in the bank and I can’t buy the one thing I really want. Caterina’s love."
-- that's the thing, you big dude, you don't have to buy anything, you just need to love her (he did have his aha 💡 moment a little bit later in the book 😂)
"I’m forty-two years old. I’ve taken lives, I’ve had women. But I’ve never been in love until I met Caterina, or felt this connected with another person until now."
--- fair enough 😁🤷♀️
"I feel like a maiden in the Minotaur’s labyrinth, with a dark and dangerous creature behind me."
A quick read that pulled me in from the start with the drama concerning Caterina’s parents resulting in a break-in of her apartment. I would’ve liked more on that back story but it’s not needed to enjoy this age gap mafia romance. Catarina and Brody are so cute together. How they couldn’t see their attraction to each other for 3 years made for some interesting dialogue once the grumpy mafia kingpin got his shy girl in his penthouse to “protect” her. :) Very enjoyable read that I didn’t want to put down. If you like age gap mafia romance then you need to pick this one up and make Evie Rose your go to author!

Honestly this book was just plain old boring. He wanted her for three years and didn't make a move, that's just sad. She comes off like a twelve year old. I went 46% in and could not read anymore. Run from this book. Shirley
Part of the London Mafia Bosses series each can be read as a standalone with an overprotective boss and the one who captures his undivided attention. Caterina sweet college student lives next door to a sexy much older guy unbeknownst to her who he really is or his lifestyle, for three years she has been trying to think of a reason to get him to come over to her home but fate stepped in taking over by introducing her to some not very nice people see her parents got into trouble with the Italian mafia by owing them money couldn’t pay it and they came looking for it through her thus getting her neighbors undivided attention. Brody sexy as all get out bratva boss he knew the moment he saw his neighbor she belonged to him but their age difference was his main issue not to add he is ruthless, dangerous on a good day, deadly every day, and coming home to find her hiding after being attacked by the mafia for something her parents owed of course he wants to take care of her matter of fact she doesn’t realize he is just as deadly as the men who attacked her. The moment they are in the same home the magnetic pull between them grows unbearable will he convince her he can keep her safe, will she agree to stay with him after learning who he really or will she see him in the same light as the ones who hurt her, what do her parents have to say for themselves, will he take care of those who hurt her, and can they find their own happiness after a traumatic event?
I know I said I wouldn’t continue this series, but oh well. This book is definitely better than the previous one I’ve read, and I did really enjoy the beginning. These books seem to start off strong in general.
However, everything after that felt flat. I thought it was kind of frustrating how BOTH characters ended up thinking, “Oh, I won’t make a move unless he/she asks first” because they were convinced the other one wasn’t interested. I despise that trope.
It’s still a 3 star book, but it could’ve been much better without the miscommunication.
Quickie Review: Another fabulous read, full of all things delicious bratva and spicy romance! Guys, I am all about a damsel in distress. And having a brooding bratva boss coming to her rescue? Yes please! These two didn’t realize their feelings for one another was mutual but boy are they about time to find out. A great, quick read!! 5 Stars!
This book is already off to a great start. Caterina has just had 2 men break into her apartment and she's worried about not having kisses someone or lost her v-card and then all she can think about is her hot neighbor that lives in the penthouse and how she's never even spoken to him or propositioned him. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. IS. THIS? Seriously, I'm going to end up throwing my tablet out the window one day because of one of these "I'm too stupefied by the attractive man to have any normal thoughts or personality of my own other than wanting to fuck him" lame female, useless as fuck, main characters. I swear it's an insult to my gender when authors do this.
The kicker is that the guy, the male mc who is apparently russian is named... Brody. Brody!?!?! Come on, you're killing me here! Couldn't come up with an actual Russian name for him?
Worse than that (because this book doesn't get better), she tells him to kiss her and he does that and so much more but only if she asks which I guess is something but this girl... my Gods, the desperation to get fucked by him is downright disgusting. But oh that's not all... isn't it convenient that you can look up a whole London crime syndicate on the internet, like it's just available on Wikipedia or something. I'm sorry but seriously that's just plain stupid.
And because I am not done being absolutely disgusted by this female lead, it's lines like these that make me question my gender. "If I can't do bar work, I can't pay my rent. The shameful thought that immediately comes to mind makes my cheeks heat. I could earn my rent on my back. On my knees. Pretzel-like positions? Absolutely fine by me with my hot landlord". Ah yes, degrade yourself for him. Show him how good a whore you can be. Such a good, strong female character with substance... Kill me now. It's a short book but holy hell I get through one page and want to slam my head against the table. We as women are worth more than being some douchbag's cock warmer. But books like these? Yeah no wonder men only see women as walking sex dolls.
By the end of the book (and many migraines later) the only thing clear to me is that he got his perfect cock sleeve and he used her like a sock puppet. Ah but it's love... (my eyes are rolling so far into my head I see the universe).

A steamy romantic novella which was easy to read as well as a great page turner with amazing characters and a beautiful happy ever after ending. Dark Angel, that is. Brody, the feared Bratva boss known as Dark Angel, has been watching Caterina, a tenant in his building, for three years. Three years that he’s watched her go to class at her university and to work at a bar, to live without needing him. He’s content to look but not touch. That stops when the Italian mafia breaks into her parents’ apartment and Caterina spends hours cowering in a wardrobe. Upon finding her there, Brody bundles her up and takes her to his penthouse. Now that she needs him, he’s in her life — and he won’t be leaving.
Meanwhile, Caterina has been nursing quite the crush on Brody, who she believes to just be her neighbor, for the past three years. She’s secretly thrilled that he insists she stay with him for a few days — until she finds out who he is and that he doesn’t plan to let her leave.
I loved Brody so much! Caterina was his absolute world. He had told himself he would be happy on the outside looking in and even if it wasn’t true, he loved her enough to stay away regardless. A total sweetheart who also systematically began killing anyone he thought may have been behind the break-in. Who doesn’t love an antihero like him?
I really enjoyed the story but there were two things I didn’t like. For one, why in the heck did Caterina’s parents not warn her? If they were smart enough to flee possible danger, surely they were smart enough to not leave their daughter completely unprotected. Thinking she’d be safe because they weren’t there? Riiiiight, because no one’s ever heard of bad guys using innocent people as leverage. The second was what felt like a bit too many turns on the “I’m not doing anything physical unless he/she asks” merry-go-round.
Both things were relatively minor compared to the book as a whole. I’ve loved every book of Evie’s that I’ve read and this one is no different. I’m enjoying the Maths Club and can’t wait to explore more!.

I love anything Bratva, and this one didn’t disappoint.
Catarina is a virgin college student quietly obsessing over her impossibly hot neighbor. Brody is an older billionaire Bratva kingpin who’s been watching her for three years—without a word exchanged between them. That tension? Delicious.
An attack in Cat’s apartment changes everything. Because of a debt her mother owes an Italian mafia family, she’s targeted. Thankfully, Brody finds her before it’s too late and takes her back to his penthouse for safety. From there, his quiet, brooding obsession shifts into full-on protector mode. Brody will do anything to keep what’s his, even if he still thinks he’s too old and too dangerous for her.
It’s a short story, but Evie Rose tells it well. The plot moves quickly, the danger feels real, and the romance has that addictive mix of slow burn and pent-up longing. The dynamic between an alpha Bratva boss and a naive FMC is exactly the kind of thing I sign up for when I pick up this trope.
Yes, Catarina can be a bit of a brat at times, but the chemistry makes up for it. The steam doesn’t hit until later—so be prepared to wait—but it’s worth it. And that epilogue? A satisfying “10 years later” glimpse into their HEA.
Tropes & Triggers: • Age gap • Bratva/Mafia boss • Alpha male • Naive FMC • Violence against FMC (not by MMC) • Violence • “Kidnapping” for protection • Virgin heroine • Insta-love but with years of longing • Billionaire • Neighbors (same building) • Slow burn
POV: Dual Drama/Angst: Low to medium Steam: Eventually there, open door HEA: Yes Epilogue: Yes – 10 years later Reread: Likely
This series—the London Mafia Bosses—is consistently strong. You don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but if you do, you’ll appreciate the side characters and Easter eggs (looking at you, “Maths Club”) even more.
If you’re into protective, obsessive mafia bosses and heroines pulled into their orbit through danger, this is a fun, fast-paced pick.
• Story 📖📖📖📖 • Characters 👥👥👥👥 • Drama/angst 😰😰😰 • Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 • POV dual • HEA? ✔ • Reread? ✔ • Epilogue? ✔ 10 years later • Tropes/ Triggers: age-gap, bratva/mafia boss, alpha male, naïve FMC, violence against FMC (not by MMC), violence, “kidnapping,” v-card, insta-but-longing-for-YEARS, billionaire, not-awesome parents, kind-of neighbors (they live in same building), slow burn
Seriously, this series is fantastic. I’ve loved every single book in this London Mafia Bosses series.
This book has a similar thread of others, the bratva boss feels he’s too old and not good enough for the FMC. The FMC feels there’s no way the stud of an MMC would want her. However, in this book, they seriously don’t say a word to one another for 3 years. THREE YEARS!
The FMC is attacked in her home because of a debt an Italian mafia family says that the FMC’s mom owes them. Thankfully, she’s able to hide, where the MMC finds her. He takes her home to his penthouse apartment where he can protect her. Like other MMC’s in the series, when his woman (whether he feels he can be with her or not) is attacked, he vows to do everything in his power to protect her.
There’s lots of drama, the FMC is kind of a brat at times, but thankfully, like all the others in the series, everything works out in the end. We get our steam, but for the full lovins… you’re gonna be waiting a while. Just a heads up that it’s a slow burn in that respect 😉 But all the same, Evie Rose writes a good story and this one is no exception!
I highly recommend the book and the series. No, you don’t have to read the others first, but I recommend it all the same because then you’ll understand some things better, like everything that happens at the “Maths Club” 🤣 and the other characters mentioned.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is a perfect example of why I love reading this author’s books; the MMC is older, grumpy and morally gray while the FMC is younger and innocent with a sunny disposition, nothing that exactly screams compatible but you get them together and you’re gonna have fireworks.
Caterina, the FMC, is a college student preparing for final exams when she’s attacked and subsequently saved by the gorgeous man she’s been crushing on for the past three years. Is it possible that everything she’s been wishing for is finally within her reach?
Brody, the MMC, is known as the Dark Angel, the head of the mafia in his district. Inarguably cruel—honestly, he’d have to be in his position—except when it comes to Caterina, the FMC, the man’s a pussy cat.
After saving her from members of the Italian mafia, he wants nothing more than to give her everything she could ever dream of, she only needs to ask. The only catch is, he’s not letting her go, no matter what.
These two were so good together, their feelings for each other were so obvious to everyone except the other that sometimes you wondered how they could be so blind.
This was such a super steamy read that I was NOT ready for it to be over, I could have read about Brody and Caterina for hours! If you enjoy low/no angst mafia romances with a cinnamon roll anti-hero, this book might as well have been written with you in mind. (And don’t forget to get the extended epilogue mentioned at the end of the book.) 5 STARS!!.

This is the 8th book in the series and while I have enjoyed the other books this one was not my favorite. It was just OK for me. This Kim the others in the series is a quick, short read that can be enjoyed as a standalone. There were something’s that were never fully disclosed and left you wondering…like what was the real story with her parents and the stolen money. Also one thing that didn’t follow the others is the male lead characters name. All of the other Russian Bratva bosses had Russian names, except this one. Brody is not Russian. Caterina is a 22 year old college student who lives in a basement apartment of a building. She has been pining after her much older attractive neighbor who lives in the pent house. She comes home one day and someone posing as a repairman breaks in and tells her that her mother stole money from the Italian Mafia and they are there to collect. Brody is the 42 year old Bratva Pakhan that owns the building. He has been pining after his much younger neighbor for the past three years. When he finds out someone hurt her he moves her in with him. Each of the main characters did not want to make a move on the other one first so I think some miscommunication occurred while they were waiting for the other person to make the first move. Expect age gap romance, an older protective and possessive Bratva boss and a HEA.
#AgeGap #Mafia #Stalker #Kidnapping #Virgin I picked up this gem on stuff your kindle day and the blurb sucked me right in. I am a sucker for “who hurt you”. I have zero regrets. This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it. I found her writing sharp, funny, and sarcastic in the best of ways. Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Caterina is 22, and just about to finish her university studies. I loved her take on herself as an introvert without social skills, but with a huge crush on her handsome neighbor. Her ability to create an imaginary life with him was quite fun. Briody, 42: mafia kingpin, Dark Angel, and man who lusts for his young neighbor. When he finds her hurt, his possessive and protective nature won’t allow for anything else but taking Caterina and keeping her safe. His self-talk while justifying his actions was quite funny. For a man so feared, he becomes a puddle for her. I loved their chemistry. I adored that Brody takes his time attempting to woo Caterina and that she is a bit clueless. This was a quick, fun, spicy, OTT read that was exactly what I needed between the holidays. And it didn’t matter that it was book 8 in a series. Now I know I need to go read the others on other evenings when I need a little mafia lovin’.
5/5 "She's too young. Too sweet. My unwitting captive."
TROPES: ~mafia ~"who hurt you?" ~touch her & die ~kidnapping/captivity ~J/P OTT Hero ~pleasure dom ~age gap
Evie Rose is a pro at writing about dangerous, tempting mafia men and the women who love them! I enjoyed this novella a lot. I read it all at one time, I couldn't put it down.
Caterina has fallen for her neighbor, Brody. He is also in love with her. ;) When dangerous men attack her in her own home, Brody found her hiding in a closet for three hours. He nursed her back to health and tempted her to stay with him so she doesn't get attacked by anyone else. What she doesn't know, however, is that he's a mafia boss. What happens when she finds out? ;)
Their love comes fast & furious. The chemistry between them is fantastic! I really enjoyed this novella. Evie Rose is always a one-click author for me!! I can't wait to see what she writes next! <3
SAFETY: Ages: 22h, 42H Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, no mention of H's past OM/OW drama: nope Cheating/sharing: nope Kinks: breeding, dirty talk, "good girl"/praise, hand necklace, primal, rough sex HEA?: yes! with a really sweet epilogue!
University student Caterina (h22) secretly daydreams about her enigmatic neighbor, Brody (H42), unaware that he's a powerful bratva boss known as the Dark Angel, and that he too has been secretly coveting her. Her quiet life takes a terrifying turn when she is attacked by members of the Italian mafia, who believe her mother stole money from their boss years ago. Driven by a fierce protectiveness, Brody rescues Caterina and brings her to his penthouse for safety. As they navigate a world of danger and revenge, an unexpected connection grows between them, and things heat up. Brody’s ruthless determination to protect Caterina and avenge the attack draws them closer. Brody is so caring towards Caterina as he tries to look out for her - from culinary treats to getting her to spend his money. His possessiveness and devotion become increasingly apparent, as Brody sees Caterina as his and is determined to keep her safe at all costs. As Caterina learns to trust and rely on Brody, their bond deepens, leading to a steamy and complex relationship. Love when we get to see some of the other couples from the London Maths Club. Ultra-hot and steamy (primal play, breeding kink) age gap, instalove bratva romance.
4.25 stars. Caterina, the female college student lead, has a crush on Brody, the male Bratva kingpin lead, who lives in the penthouse of her apartment block, though she doesn’t know who he is.
Brody knows who Caterina is but he also knows he’s too old for her. But when the doorman for his building is injured, he races to Caterina’s aid. Offering her sanctuary and assistance, he coaxes her into his apartment, determined to keep her but equally determined to proceed at her pace.
But Caterina doesn’t know of his vow to himself and she thinks he’s not interested in her like that…
This novella is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, over the top, contemporary Bratva romance. I chuckled at the banter and internal character logic. I enjoyed and was amused by Caterina’s naïveté and lack of awareness, as well as enjoying her self-awakening. I was amused Brody’s “self-sacrifice” and enjoyed and appreciated the way he encouraged Caterina to engage and make decisions. I enjoyed their intimate scenes and the active consent focus.

Held by the Bratva is book 8 of London Mafia Bosses series, this book follows the story of Brody and Caterina. After reading the overview for Held by the Bratva, I just knew that I had to get my "hands" on this book. Now that I have finished reading the book, I completely enjoyed the story of Brody and Caterina. I thought author Evie Rose did a phenomenal job of telling Brody and Caterina's story, and using a variety of emotions to express what each character was feeling throughout the book. Brody is a mafia boss known as the Dark Angel who is ruthless in dealing with the enemy. Caterina is an innocent and naive, but she is also sweet and caring. Now I'm not going to give out full details about Held by the Bratva because I don't want to ruin it for others who will eventually read this book in the future. However, I would most certainly suggest this book to those who enjoy a well-written Age-Gap Mafia romance. I can hardly wait to read more books written by Evie Rose, I found Held by the Bratva to be both suspenseful and a page-turner. Yet another amazing mafia romance book.

Unrequited love. That’s what they thought until they finally met each other. Caterina and Brodie have stared at each other in the lobby of their apartment building for three years. Both are too afraid to make the first move. Caterina is a 22-year-old college student about to graduate. Brodie is the 42-year-old London kingpin who owns the building they live in. Caterina being attacked in her apartment is the catalyst for them finally meeting. Now that they have met, he plans to never let her go, even if he has to kidnap her. Brodie is a scary and mercurial bad guy with a weakness for his “cat,” and Caterina is vulnerable and blissfully unaware of her parent’s connection to the underworld.
Held by the Bratva is a brutal story, as to be expected from a mafia romance. It is also a sensual age-gap love story with good world building. It was a fascinating look into the scary world of the bratva. The story was fast paced and kept me engaged until the end. A good book!.

Oh wow! I totally fell for Brody... perfect bad boy book boyfriend. Caterina seemed completely clueless. He didn't seem to try to hide the fact that he was someone for people to fear (not for her of course). They are both incredibly stubborn, but he is certainly more than she. The mutual "admiration" but insistance that the other initiate was commical and she deserved the restlessnessit caused her. I understand Brody's reasonings and cant say I would have done differently - regarding anything. Its funny how her desires altered when she was called out on her fake stance. (Mini spoiler: she wanted to be right where she was!! Add to that, she had nowhere else to go, and you wonder why she makes such a fuss. - because she can - and she's 22!!)
Like I said.... totally loved Brody, and when his heart broke I almost cried (truly). You shouldn't miss this little gem. He's been a controversial figure at the LMS meetings throughout the series, now's your chance to get to know the Dark Angel himself!
I received a gift copy ofvthis book and volunteered my review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
I loved the idea of this hot, older Bratva boss loving the shy, virgin student from afar and watching over her to keep her safe. Would they ever have gotten together if she wasn’t attacked? Hard to say, probably not. But once Brody has his hands on her, he’s never letting her go. I loved how Brody took care of Caterina after her ordeal. One of my favorite things about mafia romances is the way these ruthless men melt in the presence of their woman. But, it’s only for her and there’s nothing soft about Brody as he scours the city in search of those who hurt her. It was adorable watching Brody and Caterina struggle with their attraction to each other, though things get turned upside down when she finds out who he really is. Surprisingly though, not the way you would think. So, when Brody finally says “F*ck it” to everything that’s holding him back, all you can do is just sigh, sit back and enjoy the ride! Catarina is about to take her final exams after studying for three years & for those three years has been daydreaming excuses to get her gorgeous, older, mysterious neighbour into her apartment. Then Mafia thugs came looking for her parents, and money. Hours later, she’s cowering in my wardrobe, still shaking, when soft footsteps echo through my apartment. My neighbour opens the door and stares down at me, rage curling his lip. “Who hurt you?” I love these quick read, steamy, age difference romances. They’ve both fallen for each other but haven’t voiced their feelings & it takes some time for them to admit how they feel. Brody is the Dark Angel & is ruthless but so gentle & caring with Catarina. Their chemistry was electric. Yes it was insta love but it just ticked all the boxes for me & I can’t wait for more I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own
'She’ll be my guest, or she’ll be my prisoner. She’s under my protection. She’s mine.'
I really enjoyed this book. I liked both Brody and Caterina. This follows the usual Evie Rose mafia romance: intense, grumpy morally gray alpha male; innocent, cheerful, virgin female. Approximate twenty-year age gap. She's in trouble, he rescues her, protects her, and refuses to ever let her go. Scorching chemistry and attraction between the two. I just can't get enough of these stories!
The story get action and danger very quickly as Caterina finds herself in a life-or-death situation. I was hooked. I liked the way Brody spent time with her and their chemistry was delicious. Considering both of them had been lusting after each other for years, his restraint was impressive. He was gruff and immoveable where her safety was concerned.
Revenge pizza and ice cream... and a side of Russian please!
Held by the Bratva is Book 8 of the London Mafia Bosses series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, stalker-lite, virgin gets her mafia man romance. Caterina is a sweet, 22 year old virgin crushing on her neighbor for the last few years. Brody is her hunky, 42 year old neighbor who has been stalking her and happens to be a mob boss. When she's attacked in her own home, Brody finds her and decides enough is enough and takes her to his penthouse to keep her safe. But what happens when she finds out he is mafia? Will she stay or go? Can he keep her safe? Their chemistry was insane and the ending was very happy. I loved the epilogue. My only complaint is that I would have liked a bit more background with Caterina and her parents and why she was targeted. But overall, this was another great short and spicy mafia read from Evie.
