The second book in the series flowed better for a sword and sorcery type book. This by no means is great, but it’s growing on me, and I’m definitely having fun with this series. The protagonist’s are solid characters who you easily root for. A lot happened in this book as Vetra the swordsman/mercenary found new companions in another fighting man and an outcast apprentice mage. Many twists and turns ensued as the trio was besieged by a powerful sorceress who eventually unleashed her dragon and attacked an entire battlefield while riding on its back. A lot of other skirmishes and assorted sword and sorcery type deviltry happened throughout. A nice fast paced read. The first book was free on kindle and the rest of the 5 book series are 99 cents each.
An exciting never a dull moment fantasy adventure. Wonderful band of characters, storyline with sexually wicked sorceress, dragon, giants, magic, corrupting power & danger of the eros flame gem, plus brilliantly crafted battle scenes.
Vetoes and Nog were interesting. Each person is well developed. The story flowed with lot’s of fighting. I enjoyed it and will read more stories by Chris.
The quest for a magic jewel is enough to drive the kingdoms to war. A seductive sorceress has great ambitions to be dark queen but a few, down-and-out heroes stand in her way. Awesome tale. Enough action and spell-wielding and swordplay to keep the pages turning. The author writes compelling stories with flamboyant characters in so many different genres, from sword and sorcery to space opera to urban sf. Looking forward to reading more books across his many series!
Vetravincus is a wandering swordsman with a streak of the nobel in him. A sorceress tries her hand at dominion of the lands with the help of a cursed love amulet. Seducing and spellcasting is her trade. Only Vetra and his two ragtag companions seem capable of stopping her. As for why, you’ll have to read the story. So many unexpected twists and turns. Amazingly rich world building. Dragons and wizards. Wizard schools and epic battles. The author packs everything in.
