This investigation-heavy crime thriller was an absolute page-turner, I devoured it in less than two days. From the very first chapter, I was completely drawn into the story and just simply couldn’t put it down. The plot is sharp, layered, and full of clever twists that kept me guessing right up until the end.

I was close enough to figure out who the culprit was, but the journey there was so gripping and well-executed that it didn’t take away from the thrill at all. If anything, it made the reveal all the more satisfying.

What really stood out to me, though, was the writing. It’s beautifully crafted, laced with just the right amount of wit and warmth. The author has a real gift for balancing tension with humour, and the pacing is spot-on throughout.

The main character is a strong, intelligent, and refreshingly complex woman, and I found myself both rooting for her and admiring her.

There’s also a whisper of the occult running through the story which adds an extra layer of mystery that made me enjoy the book even more.

It’s hard to believe this is a debut, it reads like the work of a seasoned pro.
If you enjoy well-written thrillers with substance, heart and a smart lead, I can’t recommend this enough.

This is a real edge-of-the-seat page turner. I had to stop myself from skipping to the end to find out what happened as I was getting so tense reading it. Highly recommended
