I have not read any of the Campbell books yet but let me tell you this won't be my last one- while they are all standalone romances, I think the experience would be better if you read the previous 4 and I will certainly be going back and doing so.

This book did take me a bit to get used to- the story was fantastic and I really loved how right from the beginning, Camille was such a fierce, strong individual, especially in the face of domestic abuse. I don't think many women could have handled what she went through and formulated a plan to get out like she did. I also really enjoyed how she was a child who had her life turned upside down as a child and managed to keep fighting to achieve what she wanted to, even when she was on her own. I also really loved that Camille was wary of using any money the Campbell's offered due to her upbringing. It was nice to see that she wanted to retain her independence and wanted to pay them back and not treat anything the did for her as a handout.

Callum was such a fun character to read as well. Older than Camille by 11 years, he certainly handled finding Camille when and where he did with a certain level of calmness I don't think most would exhibit and he took to protecting her with ease and a manner that made you believe he had been doing it all along. The relationship between these two formed seamlessly and the chemistry was there right from page one, despite the age difference and differences in circumstance. I really loved all of the sweet and tender moments that broke this playboy down and helped him find his way to his happily ever after- one he wasn't sure that he would ever find. Plus, who doesn't love a 6 foot plus cowboy who knows how to work the space he takes up.

The only downfall I had with this book was the pacing to me seemed a bit weird. I had a difficult time in the beginning really following the pacing and it could just be a style of writing that I am not entirely used to. There were moments where the story seemed to move almost too fast and then not fast enough. They weren't often, but they were just enough to throw me. It didn't deter me from the story and I actually really loved the characters and the development of this family and circle of characters that surround them. I just think it is a more unique style and may take some time to get used to while reading.

Overall, I loved this world and this story. I kept dreaming I would be able to find a cowboy like Callum and I can't wait to read more about this family!

Could not put this book down! Really great found family, abusive ex, rugged ranch men, and spice. Fell absolutely in love with the giant Campbell family and how they accepted Camille from day one. Will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this series!

Corralling the Campbell is book 5 in the Steam Campbell Romance series by L.B. Burns.

Callum Campbell is alpha male in a successful large family where everybody runs or owns their own ranch or business.

Camille Estevez stows away in a trailer after running from an abusive boyfriend and finds herself among the most caring people she has ever met. But Callum is such a player, nobody believes he’ll ever change his ways.

When Camille discovers her past is not as it seems, she has to decide who to trust.

This book reads well as a stand alone as I have not yet read any of the others in the series. I was pulled right into the story and invested in poor Camille right from the start. The story is full of st€my scenes as well as unexpected twists that kept me on my toes right to the end. Although there are a lot of characters in this story, each has their spot and it was easy enough to keep them straight as I read on. I give tho
Is story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s and will definitely be going back to read the other books in the series.

After reading the first few books in this series, I wanted to know more about out Callum. This book gives readers more insight into him and introduces the woman who captures this confirmed bachelor and player’s heart. He has watched the other Campbell men fall in love and claim the women who made them work for their love. Though he has a big and generous heart, the need to protect and the soul of a warrior, Callum is content to live his life alone and devote his time to the land and the animals. His fate changes when Camille stows away in his horse trailer while fleeing her abusive ex.

They feel an immediate connection, though both do their best to deny it and fight against it. Camille finds not only a protector in Callum, but also a safe haven. The whole Campbell clan takes her in, treats her as one of their own and gives her the confidence and strength to move forward. Their mutual love of animals gives Callum and Camille another connection, though really that first moment when he saw her and offered her help tethered them together, heart and soul for a lifetime. As their story continues, secrets are revealed, their lives become intertwined and feelings they didn’t think were possible emerge and deepen. They certainly have explosive chemistry, and generate a whole lot of heat and steam when they finally allow their desire for each other have free rein. There story has it’s bumps and twists, as well as a magnificent conclusion.

This book touched my heart, caused some palpitations and some overheating. It also made me sigh, laugh and grind my teeth a bit before leaving me with the biggest smile on my face. Those Campbell men may well be handsome heartbreakers, but the women who captured their hearts have them well in hand.

I am happy to recommend this exceptional book, and all the previous books in this series, to all who love a more complex and spicy romance.

I was so excited to finally get Callum and Camille’s story!
This was a can’t put it down read. I neglected so much to just read “one more chapter”, lol
After a horrible experience with her abusive boyfriend, Camille goes in the run to escape and finds herself a stowaway in Callum’s trailer. When Callum finds Camille, he can see that she went through a lot of pain and he jumps right in. He’s a playboy and happy with no commitment hook ups, but something about Camille has him rethinking everything and he’s determined to make Camille trust him and make her his. With the help of the whole loving Campbell clan helping out with making things right for Camille, and getting these two together it is such a great addition to the series. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout and things they have to tackle. There is some spice, but not an overwhelming amount and not too graphic.
As always, it is a great story and does well to set up for the next instalment.

I have loved every book in this series and this one is no exception!

I’ve been wanting these two’s story since I met them in a previous book.

Camille and Callum are so perfect for each other it’s ridiculous! Camille is everything Callum ever needed and Callum gives Camille what she has been missing since she lost her parents; love, family, and someone who is always in her corner.

When Callum found out Camille’s age, he was ready to bolt like a wild Mustang. Camille made him see sense though.

I’m so glad Camille made the choices that led her to Callum and the Campbell family. They needed her as much as she needed them.

I love how each FMC is a badass in her own right. They need to be to deal with these knuckleheads.

Can’t wait to see what else is in store for the Campbells!

Going by the reviews everyone else has read this series from book 1. I didn't. It's meant to be a stand alone.

The characters are stagnant.

There are too many characters.

There is barely a plot.

If it wasn't for all the people that keep popping up, this "relationship" would be the dullest... ever. The MC and MMC are not well written. There could literally be a rug we put them under and be done with it.

It has to be said, sorry people spoiler. But her suddenly being worth millions, killed it.

The heroines characterisation doesn't grow, at all. This was a tedious read. 72% and I just couldn't keep pushing myself.

Night Owl authors, this round of books were sub par.

Nurturing Cowboy delivers a heartfelt blend of danger, tenderness, and slow-building trust. Callum Campbell—the charming, commitment-dodging cowboy—meets his match when Camille, a woman escaping real danger, literally lands in his horse trailer. Their forced proximity sparks a protective, deeply emotional bond neither was looking for. Camille’s trauma adds weight to the story, and Callum’s steady, nurturing nature makes their age-gap romance feel both healing and believable. As her past closes in, the tension rises, pushing Camille to confront whether she’s ready to stop running and accept the safety—and love—Callum offers. A sweet, suspense-tinged romance perfect for readers who love found family, gentle cowboys, and heroines finding their strength.

Book five of A Steamy Campbell Romance Series did not disappoint. Our resident playboy, the love him and leave him guy, is about to meet his perfect match. Callum was amazing from the start. He was caring and respectful to the needs of Camille.

Camille was a sweetheart. She was trying to recover from an abusive event in her life. She just needed time to recover and move forward with her life. This was something Callum was great at giving her. However, there were a couple times I felt he was moving too slow with their relationship.

Callum was able to give Camille a big family and all the security and love he had. These two were great together and for each other.

I love the Campbell series. All of the books have characters from previous books so we get to see what everyone is up to, which is pretty awesome.
Ms. Burns can write in a way that makes the characters flow together. There are so many characters but you are able to keep up with who is who and how they are related.
This book had everything from drama, happiness, heartbreak and of course all the animals!! But make sure you read the triggers warnings and take them seriously before starting the book.
If you haven't, I recommend reading the entire series because it enhances this story by knowing who the other family members are.

Coralling the Campbell

I am obsessed with the Campbell Series. I thought Mac was my favorite but then we were introduced to Callum. Omg. Hot ginormous cowboy, overprotective cinnamon roll…. YES PLEASE!!!

I also love how he loves Camille even though she’s been through so much trauma. This book made me laugh, cry, yell, and almost throw my kindle 🤣🤣🤣 hands down, this is my favorite Campbell book. I can’t wait for more in this series. Oh, and LB, this series can never end. Thanks. 😘

What do say about this book?
It’s a rollercoaster for sure.
Camille and Callum are what relationship goals are all about. I loved their interactions, the humour, how in tune he was with women’s temperament 😂.
And there was always something happening too, which kept me on my toes. The sizzle was something else 🥵!
The world building is world class, I love how the family come together in a crisis, having the interaction with all the previous characters melts my hard heart 🥰😂.
I wish Angus was in my life!
It’s a sweet romance, with some real life drama in the mix.
Loved it! 🥰

Camille and Callum’s story was emotional, intense, romantic, steamy and entertaining. I love cowboys and this was just perfect.

Right from the start I was captivated, and Camille and Callum kept my heart in a chokehold the whole way through. There were many emotional moments and intense twists and turns that kept me gasping and on the edge of my seat so much that I wasn’t sure how this one was going to end.

The banter was perfect, but the spice was next level. Definitely super steamy and panty melting!

I loved it!

Favourite of the Series!

I loved all of the Campbell books but this one has to be my favourite! This is a bit darker and spicier in my opinion and I just couldn’t put it down. Callum is the grumpy possessive Alpha who sees what he wants and goes for it. Camille is the damsel in distress who needs Callum and the Campbells but she is not a weak character. She has inner strength that I envy. Together they make the perfect imperfect couple. If you haven’t read the any of the books in this series, I seriously believe you are missing out!

The book had an interesting plot concept and lots of 'but wait- theres more' moments that will keep you on your toes. However some of the dialogue feels clumsy and the plot starts to feel like it's dragging on. The female main character's inner monologue also seems a bit more childish than her being 20/21yrs old. The book was a middle of the road read for me, neither good nor bad.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

L.B. Burns just has a way of taking a Texas family and supersizing EVERYTHING about them. Their emotions, the men are like giant teddy bears and their generosity. It's a world that a mentally messed up gal would never have seen coming, neither would I have. The characters are well blended into the story so that you never know which bother or cousin is coming out of the woodwork. It's just an amazing story of family and love with a bit of bad stuff thrown in for good measure.

I always know that when I pick up an L.B. Burns it’s going to be amazing. Corralling the Campbell is book 5 in the Steamy Campbell Romance series. I love this series so much. These Campbell men are something else. This is Callum’s and Camille’s story. I was here for it. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. There’s lies, betrayal, and more. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.

Happy Reading

Camille knew that she needed to leave her boyfriend Little did she know that the trailer she snuck into would change her life. A Life that she didn’t know anything about.Callum was your standard playboy. He didn’t date, he just spent evenings with women. The moment he saw Camille he knew that she is the one.

The twists and turns that happen in this story drew you in and kept you captivated. Loved it.

Camille and Callum were great characters! Callum is a hot rancher who swears he'll never settle down. Camille is coming from a traumatic experience in her last relationship, and the two of them put together just made sense 🙌🖤 L.B. Burns wrote the perfect book to go with this series 😍

Callum

Who knew the quintessential bang em and leave em Campbell would be the sweetest one yet. Definitely did not expect him to be an alpha, possessive cinnamon roll. Callie spends some time growing into herself and it's a beautiful melding as Callum waits patiently for her to do so.

It started well... But that's about it. The story was OTT unbelievable, Camille didn't make sense as a character. Basically a virgin, been abused but then aggressively sexual towards Callum. She's too young but actually everyone else, she's mine. It seemed to jump in time frame. Loads of characters, it was hard to keep up, lots of noise. Not for me.

We are back in Texas with the loving Campbells. Camille Estevez needed to get out of Georgia quickly and quietly. Her ex-boyfriend, Ken Reece, hit her for the first and last time. Camille was fortunate enough to meet some nice people on the way out of town. One of those nice people was Callum Campbell. Callum managed the Campbell ranch. If you have read the series, you know once the Campbells meet someone that needs help, they are family. Camille was no different.

Camille tried to get away to protect Callum. The Campbells take care of family and Camille was family as soon as Callum found her. Callum knew he should not develop feelings for Camille. He was too old for her, he thought. Camille had very different thoughts on the matter. Similar to all the Campbell girls, Camille was outgoing and not afraid of the huge Campbell men that vowed to protect her.

This book has a lot going on. Readers will think they know what the book is about and be pleasantly surprised to find out there is so much more. Camille shows a strength that is uncommon in most victims of domestic abuse. With the help of the Campbells, Camille might just be able to take back her legacy.

The fifth part of saga and I would say it is the most heart warming and comforting of all 5.
🔸️FMC is a smart, resilient woman with difficult and traumatic past.
🔸️MMC is a huge cinnamon roll, who falls hard and fast for his lady. He starts as a knight in shinning armour saving damsel in distress and turns into full scale prince charming. ❤️
🔸️Romance is low angst, absolutely sweet and cute, with low spice and HEA.
🔸️The story has many very busybody relatives and clan with which nobody mess.
🔸️Relaxing, no-stress reading.
