Basketball is life for Law. So, when a career ending injury forces him to retire, he has to figure out how to navigate his new normal. Now that he's retired, Law has too much free time on his hands and an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Not coping with change very well causes Law to act out and, unfortunately for him, the blogs are there to catch his bad behavior live and in livin’ color for the world to see. Zori is tryin’ to make a name for herself as a new publicist with the Blakely Management Group. Good news, after two years of being a paper pusher, she’s finally been assigned her first celebrity client. Bad news, that client is Lawton Davis. Everyone at BMG knows Law is a f*ck up with a bad attitude and no one wants to deal with him. And, seeing as how Zori is his third publicist in two years, my girl has her work cut out for her. But, Ms. Zori has never met a challenge she couldn’t handle. When We was such an adorable read. Law was definitely a character you love to hate. He didn’t give AF about what was said about him, he didn’t give AF about what was written about him in the blogs, and he most certainly didn’t give AF about who didn't like him. My guy just didn’t have two f*cks to give for anyone or anything. But, Law was misunderstood and battling some serious demons and this was in large part due to his dysfunctional azz family. He didn’t know it yet but, Zori coming into his life and turning it upside down was the best thing to happen to Lawton Davis. I hope this isn’t the last we hear from these characters. I would love for KC to give us a book on Damion and his sobriety journey.

This was a cute sports romance.

Zori was a Sports Agent that was finally given a client to make a name for herself. Unfortunately it is with Lawton a tall, dark, handsome ex bball player with a body of a God that makes it hard for her to focus. He is a pain in her azz and has been making some foolish decisions. However, Zori is about her business and she has left an unexpected mark on Lawton and he is willing to trust her. He slowly allows her to revamp his image. There are definitely bumps along the way... a jealous ex boyfriend, a trash abusive father with a whole lot of audacity, and a meddling reporter. All of this leads to an interesting love story that I enjoyed. Even though it felt slightly too long.

Zori x Law

This book was really good. I've been enjoying K.C. stories quite a lot lately. The only issues I have are the little grammar and spelling errors 😤 I hate that.
But this book was good. Watching Law's transformation throughout the book was beautiful. This man had so much pent-up anger and hurt, which were all justified because the league did him wrong. And don’t get me started on his family issues. Then walks in Zori, the newly assigned PR. This girl doesn't play about her job. She takes that thing seriously. Kicking aśś, all the while fighting her attraction to Law. But he made it so easy because my mans was rude and reckless with his mouth and behavior. But Zori did something to Law. Something beautiful 😍

Law & Zori was too cute, I loved watching them fall for each other. I loved Dame finally getting the help he needed. Their mother leaving their ain’t shit father was long overdue. Speaking of ain’t shit Rhee deserved to be fckd up with the shit she pulled. I also wondered why she was so motivated to destroy Law. This was a lovely read I’m glad Zori got her HEA and so did Kat.

A mess. Drama. Lust. Secrets. Just one thing missing, romance. There wasn’t a lot of romance but the opportunity was there it missed the mark. However if you like a soap opera full of drama then this story is for you.

Great storyline!

I really enjoyed reading about Zori and Law. The book showed how the actions of celebrities was watched and how everything that they did was out there for the paparazzi to catch and report. Zori was assigned as Law’s publicist and although he was a hand full, he eventually listened to and fell in love with her. I really didn’t get why Rhee was so determined to ruin Law, but her actions finally got a lot of secrets exposed and allowed Law and Dame to find out more about their past and move on with their mom. Great book and well worth reading.

Loved this!

🚨Must Read🚨Imagine dedicating 10 years of blood, sweat, and tears and managing to win 6 championships for a team that would not take a chance on you after an injury. This is what happened to Lawton and also the reason why he is allowing his life to spiral out of control. Lawton has been impossible to work with and the numerous publicists that have attempted to work with him would agree. In comes Zori, the newly assigned publicist to do damage control on his tarnished reputation. Zori is different from the other publicist because she has ZERO tolerance for his shenanigans! The storyline was incredible! Not only is Law having to deal with accepting that fact that he won’t be a player on the court, but he has to deal with some very heavy family issues. And heavy is an understatement! Amazing character development! These two were really fun to read! I loved their dialogue! They had me laughing and rolling my eyes. 🤣 I definitely have a soft spot for Law! ❤️The writing was great as well. There were quite a few grammatical errors but it didn’t take away from the story! I did not want this story to end! Do yourself a favor and read this book!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 🔥

very good story

I really enjoyed this story. I’m a big fan of sports themed books. I love how Zo and Law had a love hate relationship in the beginning. There was no denying the chemistry between Zo and Law.

3.5⭐️ Law had some deep rooted trauma with his family. His father, a hypocrite. Zori was the right type of woman that Law needed. I enjoyed the growth of Law and also the chemistry between him and Zori. The biological mother…. SHAMEFUL… why bother even showing up. Smh.

Lots of shocking surprises in this one!
Zori has been hired to clean up NBA player, Lawton's image. He is a drunken, man-whore who is angry that due to an injury, he can't play basketball anymore.
Lawton needs to realize there are other options. For instance NBA endorsements and coaching, IF he allows Zori to do her job.
Unfortunately, there are too many people: Zori's sleazy ex-boyfriend; Lawton's religious, fanatic father; and an evil journalist who all plot to bring Lawton down.
Awesome story! Although the editor needs to research the difference between "your" (possession) and "you're" (contraction), and how to correctly use them!

K.C. has done it again! Law was so misunderstood. He acted out to deal with all the demons plaguing him from his family life. Zo entering his life, turned it upside down in every way! Zo, was small but mighty! She was fierce, good at her job, and did not take ish from anyone, including "The Law Davis"! After initially bumping heads, after all the foolishness that Law drew into his life; Zo began to understand him. They way that Zo came in and meticulously re-branded his image, helped with his family situations, and changed his perspective on life was just short of amazing! Enjoyed seeing Law mature and grow, with the help of Zo. As well as Zo having someone else in her life to love, other than Kat. The relationship between Zo and Kat, and their sisterhood was special. Would love to see more about Damian in the future. Great read! 👍👍👍

3.75⭐️
I really liked Kat and Zo’s friendship, it was so wholesome, they were so supportive of each other and I loved that.
I really liked Lawson, I don’t know what it was (maybe the fact that he’s 6”7😭) but he had it bad for Zori and I liked that he didn’t try fight it for too long, he really was smitten with her and genuinely cared for her which was so cute to read.
I liked Zori’s character, she was funny, sweet and caring!
I didn’t like the fact that Law’s proposal was so “chill” but then again that’s just how chill Law and Zo’s relationship is.

A nice solid read. I enjoyed watching Zori & Law fall in love even though they couldn’t stand each other when they first met. We got into a lot of Law’s family and I wish we got a bit more on Zori’s family/background beyond “she doesn’t deal with her parents/she doesn’t have anybody”. Overall though Zori & Law had good banter and physical chemistry. I melted at the date he took her on, and that’s why sis folded like a pretzel lol. Despite the drama and mess with Law’s family and his career, this felt pretty mild and low angst.

When We

Lawton and Zori 😍 oh man! What a great pair, from the first page their chemistry is undeniable and their fight to ignore it was very entertaining. In ‘When We’ the reader gets heavy emotion with every chapter. There were plenty of times where the drama seemed to jump off the pages but it was balanced out with several laugh out loud moments. This author did a wonderful job telling Law & Zo’s story, I highly recommend this book!

I loved this story so much! Zori and Law had a rough start literally. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This man had no care in the world. Of course he was dealing with something deeper but people only say what he was doing on outside. But Zori didn’t give up on him. She was definitely what he needed and putting him in his place. Zori was mean, sweet and caring so I don’t blame Law falling for her. Law father was SOMETHING ELSE! I hate parents like that. Zori ex trifling. But they handle him like a boss

I enjoyed this book; it shows how you can either be your biggest hindrance or the biggest cheerleader. Also, a book that displays how haters can come from different places; how you can process; tolerate or overcome those obstacles. Great story & overall outcome.

I really enjoyed listening to this book! Zori was playing hard but Law played harder!! The secrets were secreting. The “pastor” needs to be under the jail then, now, & in the future.

A lot of fun

When We was a lot of fun, I don't usually like men such as Law. However, this man grew on me like a kudzu fine. And Zo, she was so much fun, a little bit nutty, and also super smart. She had a huge heart. The way this little lady helped to mold Law into a better person overall. And a blind man could see the Pastor was a fraud—a good read.

Amazingggggggg

I knew this was gone be good. I read it slow because I didn’t want it to end lol. I absolutely loved Law and Zori. She was exactly what he didn’t know he needed in both his career and personal life. Family secrets are a mf and whew did Law’s family have some secrets. I literally have no words for Pastor 🤦🏾‍♀️ Glad Law was able to get Caroline to leave and Dame got clean. And Zo and Law got their happily ever after. This was very well written, the story line was everything and it was a perfect balance of dark and light. This couple made me feel the emotions and made me laugh quite often.

And the way KC just dropped this book on us like she knew we needed it 🐐 ish periodtttt 👏🏾

I really enjoyed this one, and I really enjoy the sports themed books…may be due to my former career in professional sports! It features an enemies-to-lovers plot, yet as much as Law and Zo “hate” each other from the start, it’s way more forced due to circumstances because they both knew they had it for each other from jump!

Law is a mostly misunderstood “bad boy” star athlete that acts out a lot due to a lot of family/childhood trauma he keeps bottled up. Zori is his publicist hired to rescue/rehabilitate his image as he moves into his next career chapter post-injury and scandal. I loved how in doing so, she did it with care, treating his dysfunctional family with respect as well, and he in turn had many self realizations about how to better cope with his issues and simply be/do better. We see him change, mature and grow, all while healing some major family dysfunction and falling in love. We see his brother overcome addiction, and his mom break free from abuse and infidelity all in the same stride. They truly healed together.

There were def a few twists and outside of guessing they would eventually end up together, the rest was unpredictable AF! Only complaint I have is that we were missing a lot of Zo’s family/background story IMO.

Good Story

This was a nice read. I liked the way the characters developed. I do wish we would of found out what happened to Rhee's career in the epilogue since she promised retribution. I also would like to see Dame's story.

The it thing I didn't like was Kat's character. I found her to be very annoying. What kind of friend keeps asking you to share info about a client, it's unprofessional and it was a betrayal of his trust considering he never shared that information. Why was she so pushy about it all the time? That and she kept asking about his sex, saying how attractive he was and what she would do with him to her friend and Law. It's weird and inappropriate for a friend to keep referencing that stuff. I wish indie writers would stop with that trope of friends sharing details about sex with their friends, especially about a guy they really like and just telling all the guys personal business to their friends. Keep your business your business. It's not about if they would tell but simply not telling anyone at all because it's not your place and a betrayal of trust. It's just a book but it's an annoying trope that all writers do.

Full Court Press!!

Zori was great at doing her job. Law was arrogant, he was a ladies man and he money and fame. Zo wanted no parts in that. At first they couldn't stand each other. She was fantasize about him sexing her. She helped him clean up his image, she helped his family also. Dame took the burnt of the pastor ever since Law left for college. Their mama did what she thought a pastor wife was to do. Their father blamed Law for getting Dame hooked on drugs. Then had the audacity to use the words in the bible against them. His secrets was all coming out. Rhee and her trifling ratchet a** said she was just doing her job. Family and kids are off limits. Kat is with all the ish. Right wrong and indifference. She was going to get Rhee. Kat got her man, she pregnant and moved to Boston where she is appreciated at her job. Clay knew what he was doing when he called Carter. He thought Zo was going to represent him, he was jealous of Law. Look they have a family now Ro included.

I really like Zo and Law together. They make a great pair. Zo and Kat are funny but can chop you down if needed

It’s adorable how much Dame and Ro are wrapped around Zoe’s finger without her even trying

Law has made a few homophobic comments

Law’s father is a disgusting human being. And so is Rhee but for different reasons.

I think Law is wrong to get at Adrianna for giving up him and Dame. She was a teen. He’d rather her struggle instead. It may seem selfish bc she never reached out but if she did and they didn’t know he’d be pissed at her for that.

Ok I stand by my above opinion of law regarding Adrianna from her younger years but my overall opinion of her quickly changed for the worse. Now I feel like she gave him a justifiable reason to screw you. You are selfish piece of work

Aww cute little family. I love that Zo and Law got what they deserved. And Dame and their mom Caroline are both flourishing as well

When We

I can never just do away with K.C. Mills.. I have my go to authors but I always come back and it's never a disappointment. These two were unapologetically who they were and that is definitely a plus for me. Yes there were flaws but it's like no one brings to the table what they bring. Even with Zo's thoughts of Law when they first started out weren't stellar she stuck it out and got to know the real him not the one from the blogs and stuff. But I loved how no matter they situation they took care of each other they understood each person's love language. They way Clay was handled was classic for sure because baby I wanted Law to whoop his a** but i knew the image he wanted was not letting that happen. Overall I loved this story. It was well written and even with the drama it did not take away from the love shared.

KC Mills could have all of my time and money because she is just that good!!!!

I’ve had this book for a couple of days in my library and as much I had wanted to just drop everything and start reading it as soon as I knew it was out, I held non and waited to savor this and boy did I savor. I ended up reading it in one sweep, didn’t get to go sleep until about 4 am so it’s all good because the feelings I had reading this was awsome and fresh.
Law was the law and he was it!!! What was nice about this whole story was the non cheating thing while there was so many ways and open field that it could have been done with celebrity status and all… but MS. Mills made us appreciate the commitment of two adults right off bat, specially the man.
Great job, ma’m and until next time for another top seller.
