Originally a compelling story, suspense-thriller featuring a confident heroine and her crew, guys who have become a tight-knit family. This time Elle is taking matters into her own hands after the Donovans have hit close to the family.

This book is darker than book one, and it works well. You see Elle's skill on vivid display; meanwhile love is strong between her and River, as well as her relatives and the crew. The interrelationships, including the intensity of feeling coming about for the "dark prince" and other supporting characters, were not only exciting but also foreshadowing of upcoming stories I normally not want to miss.

Some editing errors that distracted from the story. Additionally, it was written in an overly descriptive manner that really challenged my interest. The text passages were unnecessarily repetitive. For instance, "I would lay down my life" was stated by every characters multiple times in the book. Additionally, when an initial statement was made, it was restated in similar ways following the original assertion. There was also a lot of inner monologue. I couldn’t get past the 50% point. While I can appreciate the desire to give the reader a full picture, a strong writing style shows rather than tells, and text and thoughts should advance the storyline. DNF at 50%

The strength of this tale is the plot. However, the writing is weak and in dire need of tightening and editing. Not even interested in the next book.

G.N. Wright didn't hold back anything with this 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐂 conclusion to a mesmerizing series. Holy GOODNESS!! I am so glad I decided to give them a shot.

This book starts off right where book 2 left off. It's was 0-60 from the get go and no letting up. My heart, mind and soul were on a rollercoaster. My emotions were taken hostage and they were no longer my own. Sometimes I had my hands up in the air basking in the goodness and other times I was screaming that I needed off this damn ride.

I have loved every single one of these characters. Whether they were a main or barely involved - well the good guys anyways. I despised the evil ones and were rooting for their demise.

Elle was resilient and beyond brave. Sometimes when backed into a corner she tended to go off on her own, but she had the best set of people in her life that wouldn't allow her to get too far gone. They were always there to steady her and protect her.
Marcus was just what Elle needed. He was her rock. Her starting point. Her northern star. He loved her with all that he was. All the feelings.
Asher was truly the Dark Prince. That didn't define him though because his heart was so big and he loved even bigger. His love was fierce and deadly in need be. He was Elle's safe place.
Lincoln was the dark and quiet one. He listened and was always ready to fight for his brothers, Elle and everyone else in their small, tight knit homemade family.
Jace. Sweet and oh so broken Jace. I think he was my favorite out of all the guys. I just wanted to hug him. He has been through SO much, but still would always try to have a smile on his face. He was witty and loved endlessly. Who wouldn't want the Playboy??
Zack and Logan were great as well. Logan is flirty and Zach is dependable. Who wouldn't want them on their side?

There were so many intense twists and turns in this read. Most of them I didn't even see coming. My heart broke a time or two. Even had some emotions leak out. Gah... It was the perfect ending to a superb series! Can't wait to see if the other Rebels get their own story. Please.. I need Jace's! Pretty please!!

If you want action, mystery, heartbreak, Alphas to the max, bloody revenge and O.M.G. steam of all kind --- Then you need to read this series!! Go, now!!

Oh man, I don't even know where to start. I have loved this series since book one and Rebellion of a Kingdom is the last of Elle and Marcus' books. I'm not ready to let them go!

This one picks up right where book two left off and the amount anxiety I felt with that cliffhanger continued throughout this book. It is packed full of action and started with a bang and kept on delivering until the end. There are even more secrets revealed and more twists that I didn't see coming.

Marcus and Elle have had a rough past, but of course, once everything starts getting comfortable, it all goes to crabsticks. I love their relationship, it's magnetic. Their love is firey and doesn't dim in the face of conflict. They have always been drawn to each other, but over this series, their connection has deepened.

As for the other Rebels, I have been wanting Lincoln's book so badly after book 2, even though I knew Jace's story would be next. Now that I have learned more about Jace, I need to see into his broken little soul. I cannot wait for more books about the Rebels, well I'm excited to read anything that G.N. writes in the future.

This is one of the few books I had to wait to review because I needed to process everything that happened. I’ll tell you if you thought the other two books were a ride then be sure to buckle up cause they are calm compared to this one. I don’t want to ruin the book for others so I’m going to try and keep it spoiler-free.

The book starts with a prologue through Zack’s POV of the last chapter. Right from the start, my heart was racing. Elle goes from being the one in control and two steps ahead to having everything fall apart in the worst ways. Everyone is working hard to take down the Donovans and their corrupt team of criminals. The amount of action is way above the other books. Let me just say there is lots of pain and blood. Even with all the chaos, you get to see how it affects each of the characters. Elle is a fierce warrior, but she is also irresponsible at times. She will do anything for her family even if it is dangerous to herself. Marcus’ protective side comes out in full force. You get to see why he is the leader of the South Side. We learn about Lincoln’s past and it helps put the puzzle pieces together on his behavior and personality. I just wanted to hug Asher and Jace for most of the book. Asher is left feeling like he is the bad guy also because it’s his blood and name that are the evil in the town. Jace is going through a major spiral. He is remembering his sister and the guilt of not being able to save her and pushing everyone aside.

The number of twists and revelations this book had was shocking. I didn’t see most of them coming. There is a lot of relationship growth between all the characters. I love how Marcus and Asher formed a bond after years of not getting along. The amount of love for Cassie and the need to protect her is heartwarming. Heck, even I wanted to jump in and keep her safe. We get a good amount of side characters that come into play. Some good, some not so much. There were some heartbreaking moments that while made me tear up also made the book more realistic. It showed not everything is going to go perfectly and not everyone will make it out of the war.

I still have a hard time believing this was G.N.’s first series. The fact that she was able to write such a complex story that drags you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat, that evokes so many emotions out that you feel like you are part of the story, and makes the characters seem real that you can’t help but cheer for them (and some you want to be the one to stab yourself) is astounding. The book had an open ending which is perfect for me since we aren’t done with Black Hallows yet. We still have Jace and Lincoln’s story! I can’t wait to see both my rebels get their happy ending after everything they’ve been through. I’m also hoping a certain psycho is part of one of them. I know G.N. is going to torture us with them also, but I have no doubt the pain will be worth it.

I love the Black Hallows series, so instead of writing a review with spoilers, I'm just going to talk about my feelings.🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

GN Wright is well aware of this, so she already knows I'm a bit crazy. When I love a story, the characters & the world, I don't picture myself as one of those characters, I create a new one to join them. In this case, her name is Mia & she's Elle's cousin (on her father's side). She's also Zack's love interest.

If you've read book two, you'll understand why I've been threatening, begging & generally trying to guilt Gabi into keeping Zack safe. Let me tell you, she's kept me dangling!

I've also had a line that would be perfect for Elle playing in my mind since book one, which has actually been incorporated into this book! Yay!

So, why should you read this series? It has a heroine who is badass but likeable. Not the annoying badass heroine that you often find, but one I actually liked!

Action. Twists. Tension. Lots of dirty sex. MM. Flirtations. Heartbreak. Bad guys. Psychos. Brooding alphas. Family loyalty. Murder. Revenge. There are triggers, so check them out.

Lots of men but not a RH. It's an OTP kinda story, & you'll love the bonds that Elle has with them all.

The story concluded brilliantly. Some things I've had my suspicions about for a while. Other things, I didn't see coming. The kill list was long, some were unfortunate, others well deserved.

I look forward to delving into the lives of the Rebels next!

Where's the 6th star rating option??
I'm surprised by the amount of self control I had. My Kindle didn't touch the wall. Miracle.
@GNWright DID US DIRTY. I can't even ಥ_ಥ

TW: Brief references to sexual assault & violence.

The previous book ended on a somewhat predictable cliffhanger but this book is anything but predictable, there isn't one scene I could even see coming. 4 hours, fucking four hours & I'm hungover. At 4% in, I have a "WTF" comment, so yeah the book....🤯

Elle & River don't have it easy but the story is 101% more than just them. The twists? You'll never see them coming! The fucked up relations? Damn, you're in for a ride! People dying? I'm telling you, you're halfway there for a shock! And the other half you'll get in the last chapter.

There's love between the family, change in friendship dynamics, sweet & happy little moments and understanding between every character. Fights happen, blood spills, there's revenge on the mind. Being dark romance, there are moments of body cutting and stuffing where you'll have to look away. Only 1-2 but wow😈

Starting and ending with a blast , this book was better than anything, any rollercoaster ride & definitely is one of my top 2021 reads, no doubt. Best book of the whole trilogy! ♡

I love how we get many POVs along with the sexual tension between LAL (take the hint!). I'm not a huge fan of MM or MMM (if it's a thing) but I'd sell my kidney to read them together.

Jace is next but I hope Lincoln, Asher & Zack get a book!

Oh. My. God. What a conclusion to Marcus and Elles story.

This book picks up where book two left us after that insanely cruel cliffhanger. It just doesn't stop coming with the action, drama and secrets throughout the whole book - I don't think my anxiety got a break until the very end of this! I can promise you will not be able to put this down at all.

Elle is honestly everything. She's strong, determined, ruthless, protective and the best book heroine. I don't think I've read a book where the female is the one who's so bloodthirsty and I loved it. I loved that through everything Marcus was by her side, cheering her on no matter what. There connection is so intense and only deepens throughout the book. I also loved that we got to see Asher and Marcus become closer after years of not liking each other. It made me very happy lol.

So much happens for everyone in this book, including the other rebels and Elles family, and it will leave you shocked. I can't wait to see what's in store for the other Rebels books because I've loved finding out more about them all throughout these books.

So, as conclusions to a series go - this one very very bloody ending and I LOVED it.

When I first picked up Book One of the Black Hallows Trilogy (Revival of a King) I had absolutely no idea that it was G's first book. Honestly, if I never got to know her, I probably would never have known.

The story was developed, the characters had strong voices and intriguing personalities... and THE PLOT!!

I remember being blown away by a few details throughout the first two books. I remember feeling connected to the characters. I remember loving all of the little moments and hints throughout the story.

Rebellion Of A Kingdom is 100% the stunning, action-packed, and SEXY conclusion to one of the best revenge stories I've ever read. The Rebels will have a piece of my heart forever and I can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve. 🖤

Absolutely brilliant

G.N. Wright absolutely delivers in this book. It picks up without missing a beat, and the action is non-stop from the word go. And as many times as I cursed her, yelled at her, almost threw my Kindle.... I still want more, need more
If you are wanting a cute sweet cozy story- this is not for you. If you are wanting a book/series that will rip your heart out, put it back together and then stomp on it again and again? Then this is it. So buckle up and enjoy the ride
Seriously though every single character inside these pages is worthy of their own story. You feel like you are part of it and you are pulling for them.

This is the 3rd and final book for Elle and Marcus's story and wow what a finish!

After the cliffhanger of book 2 this was much anticipated to see who would survive and would the rebels fulfil their revenge.

No spoilers because who wants those but honestly this book has it all, emotion, love, lust, violence and death. If you haven't read book 1 & 2 I recommend you go read it now ready for the upcoming release. If you have read previous books then you will not be disappointed by this..... cannot wait for the next book which is based on another character from these.

G.N. Wright ends her first trilogy with a bang... Literally!!

The book picks up where #2 left off, and if you thought the tension of that cliffhanger was intense, then you may need some oxygen to get yourself through this.

Each chapter ramps up the tension, and so many things happen at breakneck speed that you feel like it must be impossible that you've only read one book!

I don't want to ruin any part of the story, but if you enjoyed any part of the first two books in this series, then you're going to LOVE the conclusion.

I can't wait to see what G.N. Wright excites us with next!!

Absolutely fabulous read

What a spectacular finish to Marcus and Elle's story! This is filled with action, suspense, angst and so many emotions. I love Elle's bloodthirsty side. I don't want to spoil a thing but seeing the various characters become close was fabulous and I am so excited for their future stories even with my heartbroken for a certain one. Absolutely fabulous read.

Yes! Amazing! Fantastic! Wonderful! Outstanding!!

This book blew me away! Actually this series blew me away! Elle is the most fierce female character I have ever read in any book! I fell hard for her and cheered her on since the beginning!! I mean every book took her on a crazy entertaining journey! A journey I have loved reading. I mean holy wow! These stories, G.N. Wright is an absolute genius!

Thank you G.N. for this beautiful crazy wild your entertaining and amazing stories took me on! Thank you for these characters. As much as Elle is amazing I can’t pick a favorite. The first book it was Elle and Lincoln, book two Marcus and Jace got added to that list, now with this book, Asher crept in but gosh they really all are my favorites! Each so different, bringing so much to the table. Individually strong but together they are in in breakable, a dynasty to never be messed with. So much heartache and sadness came from this book. However, so much joy and happiness too shown through.

This book is a must read! This series is a must read and devour! There are so many twists, up and downs. The story has you on the edge of your seat. It was amazing! It deserves all the stars and praise as my heart is still pounding. What a great series. Excited to see what the next masterpiece G.N. Wright will give us. So ready for so much more! I need a Lincoln book, please! I love this book, it will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time reading it!!!

SAVAGE!

Girl! You're a Savage. This book was fierce.
What a Rollercoaster. You wrote every character in this book so well that the thought of losing them (or actually losing some of them) was devastating.
I love that Elle is exactly as bad ass as everyone thinks she is. So many female main characters are described as bad ass but aren't. Elle, however is so damn fierce. I loved when she said " you have to break in order to be rebuilt. Reborn" and that is Elle exactly. She was broken and when she rebuilt she became so freaking strong.
The family Elle has built is flawed and damaged but so strong in the face of danger.
I think what I loved best about this entire series is that this wasn't just a love story about Elle and Marcus. It was about the love of the family they built. Elle, The Roytons, The Rebels, Max & Co.
I'm excited to read Jace's book - he's going to need a STRONG woman to get him through this. BUT I NEEEEEEEEEED more Ash and Linc. THE SEXUAL tension.

A perfect finish to a stellar trilogy!!

This third book rounded third base and headed home in this grand slam trilogy. So much action, at one point my husband asked me if I was okay because I was breathing hard….it’s that intense! The way the author writes, each chapter in first person from a different view, made you feel like you were right there in the story. In the middle of the action, in the middle of the hot sex and in the middle of all the love and family. I felt every emotion in this book. I laughed, I ugly cried, I yelled and cursed. This author is something magical and I cannot wait to read more of her books, especially a continuation of these characters!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would give this 10 stars if I could. This is definitely on my Top 10 books/series I’ve read. I will scream from the rooftops…..you need to read this series!

*** I purchased these books for my Kindle and did NOT receive a copy from the publisher or author. All thoughts are independent and my own. ***

A beautiful wrap up for our King!

I’m in awe. GN Wright has taken us on quite the journey with Elle and Marcus. It was insane. It was heartbreaking. It was steamy. I wanted to cuss the author out. I wanted to wrap King up in a hug. Elle’s development across the series makes her a strong contender for one of my favorite FMCs. It’s so hard for me to write more without spoiling in anything because of how much I loved this book. I’m so excited to see more from our other rebels.

Okay. Phew! That book was just...wow. Loads of feelings, tons of edge of your seat suspense, lots of action.

If you want a series that's going to grip you from the start, make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry...Read this one.

Congrats to the author on her debut series - it was a definite roller coaster and I enjoyed every minute of it. Looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.

What a nail biting, drama filled, kindle throwing, cussing author out finale! Omg what a ride! I loved this last book in Marcus and Elle's story, both characters have grown so much over these three books. Marcus I think the most. To see him mature throughout this book and see his character grow the most was lovely to read. I also loved the different POV from everyone so we got all thoughts and feelings. A brilliant trilogy that you need to read! I can't wait for the next book 🖤🖤

What an ending!!

This last book was everything we needed to finish the story up perfectly. The craziness, heart break, love and steamy times was all put together perfectly. I’m so beyond happy I gave this author a chance and can’t wait to read what’s next. I really hope we get a book for Jace, Ash, Lincoln and even Logan.

The only reason I continue to read the series is for Lincoln and Asher. They are freaking everything and have stolen the whole show. Other than that I would have given up on this series since book one. What a shit show of a soap opera.

I just want Lincoln and Ash to finally be together! Is that so fucking hard to ask and get?!

WHAT AN ENDING!
Ahh! I am writing this review a few days after completing this trilogy, because I needed a few days to decompress. This whole book I was on the edge of my seat, wanting everyone to be safe and the bad guys to get what they deserve.

At this point, I am head over heels for all of the rebels, Asher, and Logan, and want everyone to get their happy ending.

This was fast-paced and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I again enjoyed that we were able to read from multiple perspectives as Wright likes to have heavy inner dialogue, this allowed me to understand where everyone was coming from.

Can’t wait for the story to continue with Jace!

3.5 stars Black Hallows series review. 🚨⚠️ Spoiler alert

I read the entire series, and the storyline and plot are well-written. It is the story of Elle and Marcus, childhood friends; they are devoted to each other. They are childhood first love and then lovers. The storyline is based on young girls and boys being exploited into sex trafficking. Deranged and respected elites of the town commit the crimes. The author describes the corruption of men to cover those who committed crimes. The criminal ahead of sex trafficking has a network of influential people enabling him to build his empire. The deranged delinquent is not your usual underworld criminal but a respected individual living in the open among others; he and his heir hide their true nature. The story is about friendship, loyalty, and family. It starts with three childhood friends who all suddenly have their world broken apart. Elle is taken at age fourteen and saved by Ash. Elle disappears for years until she decides to come back for revenge. Elle is a likable character; I liked all the characters in the series. All the primary and secondary characters are well described and add more to the understanding of the story and plot. I appreciated that the author allowed each character in the book to have a voice, and their personalities are outstanding. Chapter by chapter, I was captivated and not bored to read. The story has plots and subplots that unravel throughout the series.
Elle returns to her hometown and finds her childhood love Marcus has taken over the South side of the town, and he is the King at the high school. They are all eighteen-year-old kids and enrolled in their senior year. Elle meets with the rest of Marcus' friends, Lincoln (nickname Superman) and Jace (Pretty Boy), who each have their baggage of horror and trauma. We also meet Elle’s adopted family, Arthur, Helen, Zach, Logan, and Lily. I liked to read about the dynamic between Lincoln, Logan, and Ash. It will be an interesting story. I also liked the fast friendship developed between Elle, Jace, and Lincoln. The interaction script among all the characters is well written. I liked all the boys, Ash, Lincoln, Jace, Logan, Zach, and Max, but my favorite is Ash (the Dark Prince).
The reason for a 3.5 star is for flaws in the story's plot. First, these eighteen-year-olds go against men proficient in hiding their crimes for many years—men who are very powerful with connections to influential and ruthless men. Elle has no idea how to develop a revenge plan; she only has incriminating documents. The author describes Max, an expert in security and combat, as a dangerous man. I did not read anything about him being a dangerous man. I thought Max might take over and advise Elle’s revenge mission. Instead, he takes orders from Elle. I do not understand why Elle brings her family to her hometown; it does not make any sense she allows her family to become a target. Also, Ash constantly visits her, which means he may be discovered by his family, setting everyone at risk for safety. As a reader, these issues in the writing bother me. It makes me question the author's reasoning during her writing. It reads oddly to have only eighteen-year-olds dismantle criminal empires and bring them to justice. I would understand better if older, experienced men were involved in the plot for Elle’s revenge and she worked with professional men. Even her brother Zach is uninvolved and distances himself from Elle’s revenge. However, I am interested in reading the author's books in the series. I am interested in Ash and Zach's story and a happy ending.
