Alecto Black’s and Blaze Leveau’s relationship has been turbulent from the first time they met. But after being forced to work together to protect their House, they are finally ready to accept their feelings for each other and be together. However, nothing in their world is as easy as that.
The Snakes finally know who their true enemy is that’s been working from the shadows to take their House down, and they are ready to do whatever it takes to stop them and ensure their future. However, the enemy they are facing is much more powerful than they could ever imagine. In order to protect themselves against their enemy, they have to finally uncover the dark family secrets that have been hidden for centuries.
As Snakes find a way to protect their House and eliminate their enemies once and for all, Alecto and Blaze have to face their own demons if they want to finally find a way to be together.
House of Malice will be perfect for dark academia and Dramione fans who want morally grey characters with spice and loved The Atlas Six, The Ninth House, and Zodiac Academy. It's a dual POV, steamy (extremely) enemies-to-lovers bully romance, so please read the content warning list before reading.
Karolina Wilde is an author of House of Pain, the first book in a seductive dark fantasy romance trilogy, and a sex-positive freelance writer who worked with some of the biggest brands in the world. She has a serious obsession with chocolate (dark or milk, never white, and always with salted caramel), and when she's not writing another book or another client article, she can be found playing World of Warcraft or trying to conquer her never-ending TBR pile. Such a good final book! This series is amazing! Spicy dark academia that keeps you hooked from start to finish with a great barrier and better mystery absolutely recommend
I'm good with this ending.
Thank you so incredibly much to the author for sharing an ARC copy of this book with me!!!
“I meant it when I said that I want all of you,” Blaze said. “I want you to be mine, and I want to be yours. Just me and you, baby.”
“Is it weird that it turns me on when you’re mean to me?”
Now, as I’m writing here this review, I feel two feelings. I’m absolutely thrilled and excited that this book was as amazing as I thought it would have been, but I’m also incredibly emotional and sad this series is over. Let me remind you just one thing … I was totally and completely in love with book one. I know that is in fact scary considering the tropes involved in book one, but it is the truth nonetheless. Then the author came up with book two and I was hooked. I feel like with book three we reach an evolution of the characters that it’s at its peak and it would be a waste ruining it all. But the idea that I won’t hear about what Blaze and Alecto are up to now … heartbreaking. Book one was the epitome of bully and cruelty. Book two was revenge. Book three felt like finally finding peace. I loved how the characters interacted this time around. It felt like they had finally established their role both for themselves and the other members of the Inner Circle. I loved that we got to know more about the alumni and their story (as creepy as that can be) and I loved that our Inner Circle got stronger than ever. I will miss Val, Jolene, Andro and some of the other side characters. But more than anything, I will miss our dear, complicated and twisted Blaze Leveau and Alecto Black. With their mischief and their addicting and hot spicy times. I will miss their dynamic (again as twisted as they might be) and I will miss their more cute and romantic side they only shared with one another. I was there for them during the darkest - and I mean darkest - times and I was there for the sweetest ones. I loved them both equally. I’m so so glad I got to jump on this adventure with them and the author and I can’t wait for future projects!!! In the meantime I’ll be rereading these books so as to never forget!!
“You can run for as long as you want, baby. Sooner or later, I’ll catch up with you.”
“Oh, and be a good girl and don’t wear your panties for me today.”
I was so excited to receive and ARC of this book - Thanks, Karolina!
I have followed this series from the beginning and absolutely love the characters and the world that Karolina Wilde has created. This series is definitely dark romance, dark academia, and has trigger warnings at the beginning. There is murder, mayhem, and everything a dark romance reader loves. With that being said, tread carefully if this is not your normal genre.
I have truly enjoyed reading this series from the beginning. The characters are dark and twisty with lots of flaws. The world of Inathis and the school (Venefica Academy) are interesting and I would absolutely love to see more stories within these settings. The story line itself is complex - there is a lot going on in both the past and the present and everything connects. And there is spice. Lots and lots of spice!
While there are many great qualities to this book, I found myself wanting much more from the story line. This is a quick read, but with how complex the story is, I felt like the scenes could have been elaborated on and drawn out. Karolina does a good job tying up loose ends for major plot points, but it is all wrapped up with a pretty pink bow which doesn't really fit the messiness of the characters and story. This book could also have used an epilogue. While we see the characters two months after the end of major events, the scene - like so many others - is much too short. We don't necessarily know if everything works out years down the line.
There are also certain items in the book which could have been removed as they didn't move the story itself along in any way. For example, the sport of Rockey is played and some of the scenes occur at practice, but there is nothing of real significance that happens with the sport. We also find out that two characters are having an unexpected relationship, but we never really find out where that goes. We also don't know how "The Game" ends at the school which is really what kicks off the whole series.
I rated this book a 3 because I loved the world, but think it could use some perfecting. I think people who enjoy books by Sophie Lark or Penelope Douglas would also enjoy this series.
I can't wait to see what other stories Karolina Wilde has to tell and I am excited to see her writing develop over time!
In this epic conclusion, we get to see most of the issues resolve that have plaguing the Inner Circle and House of Snakes since the start.
House of Malice is the third and final book in the Precious Villains series. I love to see Blaze and Alecto have a much less toxic and more (dare I say) loving relationship in this book. It's been a rollercoaster with those two and the payoff is so nice. It definitely gives off fanfic Dramione vibes--in a good way!
Aside from the romance aspect of the plot, I did enjoy the writing style in that I thought it was straight to the point. At times the plot felt too easy, such as how Alecto dealt with her dad in the end--I won't give away details to avoid spoilers--but it is fiction after all!
I found it to be a fun read and easy to follow along. But for any new readers: you must read the first two to read this one. House of Malice is not a standalone.
Thanks to the author Karolina Wilde for providing me with an advance e-copy! This review is voluntary and these thoughts are my own. 🔮💗
This series has a good story line. The only reason that I gave the whole series 4 stars is because there are many grammar mistakes throughout the series. Usually a missing word or the wrong word, which makes the sentence(s) not make sense. This is also not in dual POV. This is first person with only 2 view points. I would have enjoyed this series better if it really was dual POV.
i cannot believe that this is over i am so sad i dont wanna say goodbye to my children :( i also have a lot of thoughts but ill write them later but rn ill just say how the second part of the book felt so rushed and abrupt especially the last few chapters it just felt incomplete too
What can I say, I am a hopeless romantic and my heart was so happy for Alecto and Blaze. I also think they are perfect for each other and their relationship blossomed nicely. There were some really nice scenes in their bedrooms, where the characters got vulnerable, and opened up and you could see how safe they felt with each other. The writing is beautiful, the way Karolina can write about clothes is crazy, I wouldn't even know that many words to describe a piece of clothing! I can imagine every look she writes perfectly. I will say that the second part of the book did feel a bit rushed, maybe some things could have happened earlier. But overall I loved to follow the story and am sad it ended. I am glad that I will be able to re-read them once I start missing the characters.
