Welcome to Divorce Towers, the Beverly Hills condo where there’s more money than sense…more drama than money…and more heat than one high-rise can hold.

Addison Torres has nothing left to lose in New York - no job, no fiancé, no parents to lean on. So when Uncle Arnie offers her a concierge gig in sunny California, she hops on a plane without looking back.

Before it all came crashing down, Addison had a matchmaking career and handsome partner—then she got a little too cozy with a client. Digging her way out of the wreckage, she’s taken a strict vow of celibacy.

Unfortunately, Addison’s new home is where such promises go to die. As concierge at the luxurious Beekman Towers—nicknamed “Divorce Towers” due to the constant influx of the newly single—she’s in constant demand by Beverly Hills’ most eligible and entitled bachelors. Like Dante, a cocksure talent agent. And Zach, an adorable tech wizard.

Addison Torres thinks she’s ready for anything except love. But in Divorce Towers, the world’s toughest concierge may have finally met her match.

Divorce Towers by Ellen Meister? Yeah... this one totally missed the mark for me. 😬 I grabbed it for free on NetGalley, and whew, I’m honestly glad I didn’t drop a dime on it! 🥴

✧ Love Triangle Drama 💔
✧ Messy AF Love Life 😩
✧ City Girl Lost in LA 🌴
✧ Bad Decisions on Repeat 😬
✧ Concierge Gig Gone Wrong 🛎️

Okay, so where do I even start? This book tried so hard to be everything—romance, thriller, mystery—but guess what? It ended up being a whole lot of nothing. 🙃 The plot was all over the place! Like, are we trying to be steamy? Suspenseful? Funny? I have NO IDEA, and I don’t think the book did either! 😂 Addison, our FMC, blows up her life in NYC and then... she makes the same terrible decisions in LA. Sis, where’s the growth? Girl, you’re an adult now—can we stop with the self-sabotage? 😑

And can we talk about the third POV from Carly? What was the point?! It added absolutely nothing to the story, just filler on filler. Same with her uncle’s chapters, like... why? 😵‍💫 These random storylines just distracted from what was already a confusing plot. I kept waiting for some big revelation, but instead, I got... nada. 😐

Also, Addison's "vow of celibacy" was a joke. She moves into Divorce Towers, a building full of newly single bachelors, and—surprise, surprise—gets tangled up in that mess too. One bad decision after another. I mean, come on, Addison, do better! 🙄

And the pacing? SLOWWW. 🐢 I was waiting for something—anything—to happen, but the book just stayed stuck in neutral. Even the “romantic” parts were half-hearted. It teased some steam but never actually delivered. Like, it couldn’t decide if it wanted to cross the line or stay behind it. Pick a lane, please! 🙃 And don’t even get me started on all the random side characters. Too many, no resolution, and everything just mashed together into a super anti-climactic mess at the end. 🥱

In the end, this was a super frustrating read. If you're hoping for a good romance, suspense, or mystery? This isn’t it. And if you’re looking for some depth or substance... yeah, you might want to look elsewhere. Honestly, I almost DNF’d this one, and if I’m real, I wouldn’t recommend anyone else waste their time finishing it either. 😬

I wasn’t sure what this book was trying to be, a thriller, a romance, a mystery… it just meandered along without going anywhere really.

This book is BORING 🥱 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

I only made it to chapter 13, and I really can’t even tell you all that happened in those chapters.🤦🏾‍♀️ All I know is sis got fired from her job for sleeping with a client and her uncle got her a gig in his building who just happens to be home to a bunch of horny old rich people.

I couldn’t take another minute of it.

Thankfully it was a free book from Amazon First Reads. I would have been pissed had I paid for it.

Divorce Towers - Ellen Meister

Addison needs a new start so when her Uncle gets her the job as concierge at a high rise apartment building for the rich, she jumps at the chance. She wasn’t prepared for just exactly what she would need to do there.

I actually thought this book was funny! I found it quirky and fun. So much going on! Love triangle, a woman in the building being harassed by her ex, a theft! An older man who has a thing for women. CLASSIC!! It was fast paced, some clever banter and I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I thought the ending was good too. I thought it was great. I couldn’t believe the low review for this book! The narrator wasn’t the best but still, well worth the less!

3.25 (Kindle Firsts). Man, I'm falling behind on my reviews...

The premise was good: NY girl loses her gig as a matchmaker + gets a new job as a concierge in a millionaires apartment complex where all the residents are divorced. And horny. Good girl gets good guy but it takes the whole book to really get them together.

Ultimately the characters were ok but the "stolen" object + stalker ex felt wedged into what is really just a rom-com.

i couldn’t figure out if this book was supposed to be a romance, a thriller, or mystery. lots of different vibes throughout this book and the third perspective added from Carly just made no sense to me. almost wanted to DNF it. not absolutely horrible but not something i’d recommend either

When I saw the Goodreads average for Divorce Towers by Ellen Meister, I wasn't sure what to expect and it didn't help that I wasn't familiar with this author. That being said, it was a huge win for me, and I can't quite believe how much I loved it! There are three viewpoints in the book: Addison, her father Arnie, and a condo resident named Carly. Honestly, it took me way too long to realize there was an additional female viewpoint and I kept thinking Carly was Addison. The chapters are labeled but I was listening to the audiobook and apparently missed that for an obscenely long time. I didn’t really see the point of Arnie’s viewpoint, and I have to say Addison’s was my favorite of them all.

I really wish the audiobook had been narrated by a full cast instead of just Sarah Mollo-Christensen. I think that would have helped considerably with keeping the POVs separate instead of kind of running together, especially the women’s viewpoints. Be that as it may, I did enjoy her narration, and I would gladly listen to her again. There is romance and mystery as well as a dash of suspense in Divorce Towers and loved the character growth by the end of the book. I also loved the setting of Beverly Hills and Beekman Towers where the rich reign and douchey guys are everywhere. Read this if you like love triangles, quirky storylines, and reality show worthy drama.

Thank you, Netgalley, and Brilliance Publishing for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

It wasn't a horrible read but I was very confused on what this book wanted to be in the beginning - thriller, mystery or romance. It did have some really good parts that were interesting but there were some not so good parts that bored me to no end.

The narrator was good and overall, the audiobook wasn't bad. If I had read this book physically, I don't think I would have finished it.

⁉️: Do you enjoy reality shows? Which one is your favorite?

Omg! Ask Mike - one of my guiltiest pleasures are reality shows that range from 90 Day Fiancée franchise, Sister Wives, Real Housewives, and recently Love Off The Grid. So, when I saw the editor for Amazon First Reads described this novel as one for people who enjoy reality shows - I picked it without thinking twice, and I was addicted and read it within 3 days!

Addison begins her journey from NY to LA to move in with her uncle, Arnie, and begins to work as a concierge while dealing with the prospect of two romantic interests. Along with this love triangle, we meet a variety of characters who reside in the condo including Carly, a woman going through a divorce after escaping an abusive marriage, Maya - an influencer finding ways to hide her breakup with her ex, Zach - a tech geek still nursing his wounds from a nasty breakup, Dante - a suave and sexy man who is always demanding Addison’s attention, and finally, her sweet and endearing uncle, Arnie who’s aging backwards and is her last surviving family member.

Overall, the book was easy to read and laugh out loud, and endearing all the same time. Because there were so many characters in the condo,it allowed for the author to explore snippets of different genres. The ending was not what I expected! Other than that, I thought it was a great read! 5✨ from me!

Thank you @amazonpublishing for the arc!

This one is not a serious literary masterpiece, but it was a good lighthearted read for me. It read like a sitcom, a little Sex in the City mixed with Beverly Hills 90210. Some parts were funny and a couple chapter endings had me rushing to read on and figure it out. Told from multiple POVs, but not so much that it’s confusing.

DNF 13%

FMC blows up her entire life in NYC and then proceeds to succumb to body betrayal syndrome and make the SAME mistakes in LA. No girl. You're an adult - start acting like one.

What was the point of the uncle's chapter? It added nothing to the story; added nothing to the setting; and didn't enhance the setting at all. I'm so confused as to why it was there.

Easy read with no real plot. Lots of characters to follow with no real solution to any storyline. It’s tiptoed towards steamy romance but never crossed the threshold. It tried to be a thriller but wrapped up too quickly. It was like reading a script for tv show. This would be a good series.

It was okay. Not sure what the whole story was. Mystery? Romance ? Smut? Comedy? Too many characters, too many side stories. They all merged in the ending but it was incredibly anti climatic.

Was this a mystery? A romance? I’m not sure, very slow… too many storylines without real closure.

This one was my pick for August Amazon first reads. I second guessed myself first when the blurb hinted at a love triangle and again when the reason she's there in the first place is because she cheated. The celibacy thing was all good up until she broke it, although Dante was a full on charming player/love bomber. It was good she recognized he was a player but still missed the truth. It took a while for Zach to feel less awkward.

Multiple POVs Addison, Carly and Arnie. Arnie the uncle making the mistake of trying to take back a cheating ex wife. Carly falling in love whilst having to deal with her ex. Addison the niece falling into bad habits. She was an idiot when she didn't fess up at the half way point and then when she kept saying nothing happened when it had. Cheating and love triangles are on my pet peeve list, strangely, I enjoyed this one. The drama wasn't over the top, unless you count Carly's suicidal moment, Arnie begging for another chance or Dante not taking no for an answer. There was no cat fights, claws at dawn or luggage being thrown out. Apart from Owen waving a gun around, it was almost as if it happened everyday. Felt more HFN all round. Not sure what would happen to the cat but hoping Zach gets his HEA.

A neat story

I love a mystery that ties everything into a neat and tidy bow. Lots of characters, plot twists. Throw in some romance and a dash of intrigue to make you want to continue reading.

Listened to the audiobook on KU. Not exactly sure how to feel about it, but it wasn’t completely horrible in my opinion. There were a lot of POV’s and I feel like some things didn’t necessarily add up in the story.

There are so many characters and relationships in this book it’s hard to keep up with. I didn’t mind the main characters story but I could’ve used way less cheating and all these older, divorced players felt extra dramatic. Just a middle of the road book for me. I enjoyed the audio!
