Voyeurism #3

Breaking Vincent

Rate this book
Behind his latex mask, Vincent can be himself, unleashing his inner brat and charm on the master of his dreams, David. However, by day, Vincent and David openly despise each other, trading petty insults and hateful words.

Vincent Jones - I was eighteen the first time I hooked up with a guy, and he stubbed his cigarette out on my back by mistake. Since then, I’ve been chasing that same painful high. Other men could never hit that sweet spot, so I’ve spent the last couple of years getting my less-than-fulfilling kicks from random guys on the internet.

I’ve been wishing for my perfect Master to come and sweep me off my feet and I was close to giving up that dream and settling for a boring life. Until one day, I was busy drooling over the dessert display at the café when I crashed into David. It was my fault, but when he looked at me, all rational thoughts floated away. I blamed him, and then I just couldn’t help myself from bratting out, it’s too much fun.

From there, I make it my life’s mission to mess around with him whenever we cross paths. If that means keeping my true identity concealed when David follows my Voyeurism Fans account, then so be it.

David Lopez - My family and I moved to England during my teenage years. I have since moved out of the crowded family home and I’m now living in the buzzing city of Manchester.

After finding a new job at the local BDSM club, my life finally feels like it’s on the up. That is until a long-haired, mouthy giant spills coffee all over me.

He’s not my usual type. Based on his looks, he couldn’t be further from my normal. That doesn’t stop my insides from swooping at the first look of the man.

Until he opens his mouth and the self-righteous attitude spews right out, leaving me instantly turned off.

I thought after our first interaction, we would never cross paths again, but he always seems to find me. Whether that be at the café or the supermarkets, or unknowingly at my place of work, he’s always there.

After a faceless hook-up, things take a turn for the worst. David fails to provide appropriate aftercare, causing him to question his own lifestyle. When a collaring ceremony takes place between their closest friends, Vincent panics, realizing this charade has gone too far. Will he finally peel off the mask and face the rejection and discover whether kink and passion are enough to overcome deception?

I want to start off by thanking Rebecca Louise who helped me figure out the book so it was safe for me to enjoy her story. Not a lot of authors would have done that and I really appreciate it. ❤️ Now as for the book I believe it makes a wonderful gateway into the world of S&M for beginer readers who are interested in the topic. Since it's Vincent’s first time being in an actual Master and slave relationship I love that Rebecca wrote them taking their time. Lots of communication before each scene and tons of check-in throughout. Each scene the pleasure/pain increased too. So when the epilogue comes around a year and a half later I was kinda disappointed by how tame their scene was. Throughout the book Vincent kept saying "I need someone to break me into tiny pieces, before putting me back together again." and I don't think he really got that. I think by now they would have graduated to some impact play. All the tools and toys he has in his room riding crops, whips, paddles, canes.... And what about the 🦆 machine that David was so proud of having. So if you're new to the sadist/masochist world this is a great book to start with.

I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.

4.5 stars. Oh, I loved this one, I had some expectations and I wasn’t disappointed!!

Vincent is a brat, looking for his perfect Master, but is convinced it will never happen.
David is a Master, working at a BDSM club, at home he has a special room, waiting to be used.

Their first interaction is in a coffee bar where Vincent bumps into David and acts as if David is at fault.
David is already irritated by the brat. Every time they meet Vincent acts nasty, just to rile him.

Through an app they get in touch and meet, Vincent wears a latex mask, and David really likes the guy.
You can guess the problem, Vincent knows who David is, only David doesn’t.
Vincent is smitten by David and everything he stands for, he’s so afraid of the moment David finds out about his real identity, he doesn’t want to lose him.

This is just a short resume, the story is way more than this. It’s captivating af, with great scenes, a good build-up, a nice flow, and convincing, both aren’t perfect and that’s so attractive! They have great chemistry, it’s scorching at times and also emotional!
It’s the third book from the Voyeurism series but can easily be read as a stand-alone.
Overall a great read!

This was an incredible read. I hadn’t read Rebecca Louise before but I read the blurb and was intrigued. I can honestly say the book did not disappoint.

The story has humor, feelings, and a lot of heat. I’m always intrigued by an opposites book and these two are about night and day. The only thing, I think, they have in common is their BDSM lifestyle. But at the same time, they completely complement each other's differences.

Vincent is a funny guy. He’s also a sub that people think would be a Dom. He’s big, tattooed everywhere and just wants to be loved, and have very dirty things done to him. He loves it. And David. He’s short. No one looks at him and thinks he can control a big guy like Vincent. They’d be sadly, sadly mistaken. The scenes they play are steamy. But David has his work cut out for him.

Since I stumbled upon Breaking Vincent I haven’t read the first two. I have them on my soon-to-read list after Christmas. I really want to catch up with the other characters in this book. It was a fascinating read. I’m not too familiar with BDSM stories but I loved this one. How explanations of things were weaved into the story. How the lifestyle was explained. It’s an incredible story I would recommend to anyone.

When Rebecca Louise reached out to me asking if I was accepting arcs and sent the link to her new book, I was intrigued and excited to read about David and Vincent. These two are 🔥 There is some internal struggle for both men and there is some growth, also.

Vincent is a masochistic bratty sub who desperately wants to find a Master. His meet cute with David is every rom com lovers dream but with a snarky twist.

David is a Master working at a local k!n k club. He is attracted to the hot man who made him spill his coffee but is turned off by the attitude Vincent gives him.

Unmasked they are like oil and water. But, when Vincent wears his mask and meets up with the unsuspecting David, their scene is off the charts 🫠 Till David messes up. Now, both have things to apologize for.

David and Vincent are great for each other. Their interests line up and their chemistry is palpable. Rebecca Louise does a great job bringing us men who cause most of their own problems and helping them find their way.

I enjoyed this book from the start, I’ve been looking forward to digging into it. Loved the first two books in this series.

Vincent is a bit broken, and is looking for someone who can help him figure out his kinks. Someone who understands and is willing to try. Someone he can trust. Definitely a brat through and through. Loved his snarky side.

David melts my heart, a genuine good guy. He’s not afraid to test Vincent’s limits and he’s definitely the right guy for it. He seems confident and knows what he wants!

This was an absolute pleasure to read. Not to slow burn, not to fast in jumping into the hotness either. We really got to know the characters, loved the way they developed throughout the story. Amazingly written sex scenes. Definitely pantymelting material 🫦🔥

This is the story of Vincent and David. It's book 3 in a series, but it can be read as a standalone. Some of the relationships of side characters that starred in the previous books were a little confusing, but I figured it out eventually, so the book is definitely safe as a standalone.

Both of the main characters were likeable (which I always appreciate, because that's not the case in every book I read). And each had their own unique personality and voice in the story, so it was easy to tell whose POV I was reading. David is a really sweet Master, who is (in the words of Vincent) a Short King. He's a sadist but also feels very strongly about caring for his sub and providing quality aftercare. Vincent is a tall, tattooed/pierced sub and masochist with a bratty but endearing personality. These are my favorite "Vincent being Vincent" moments:
I sing along with the music, nodding my head and wiggling my ass to the beat. I feel like Emma Stone in that movie, you know the one with the birthday card?
I do know the one, in fact! And this V moment too:
"Alexa, play my Bad Bitch playlist." In a few seconds, No Scrubs by TLC is blasting through the speakers.

Anyway, Vincent is kind of adorable.

I will say that I didn't really feel their connection form, but then once they were doing more scenes and dating, they were very sweet together. I would have liked to feel more of the emotion though.

Some Details:
Pairing: MM, Vincent & David
POV: 1st Person, Dual 🗣️🗣️
Tense: Present
Strict Top/Bottom?: Yes
Is Top or Bottom Bigger: Bottom is Bigger
Angst: 1.5/5 😟😟
Spice Frequency: 3/5 🔥🔥🔥
Spice Level: 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Regarding the BDSM aspect of the book, I do not know what I'm talking about from experience (only from books), but it seemed to me that the mentalities of the Master and sub/slave were portrayed very well. I especially liked how David was so diligent with aftercare (despite one misstep mid-book) and seemed to love pampering and praising Vincent. And I thought I'd heard of it all, but this book introduced me to some new BDSM toys and furniture; as well, it had some interesting spicy times. I'll list some stuff below (minor spoilers if you read past this point):

💋 ARC Review Breaking Vincent by @author_rebeccalouise 💋

This was a first for me by this author and it is safe to say that it won’t be the last!

I love a good kink exploration book just as much as the next gal but the story of Vincent the Brat and David the Dom turned out to be so much more 🩷

Here’s what really stood out:
🩷 the build-up. Rebecca really takes her time to set the scene and develop her MCs. There’s nu rush but there’s tension!
🩷 Her MCs are multi-layered and not just master/slave stereotypes. They are both complex characters with flaws and fears.
🩷 The intimacy during the steamy parts was so beautifully depicted. I have seldom read BDSM books with this much sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
🩷 The push and pull between the MCs was just right. Just the right amount of angst without too much unnecessary miscommunication.
🩷 Communication and Aftercare was spot on! These men show how wrong it goes when you dont talk and how amazing it can be when you do.

The execution was great. Rebecca is a really great writer. Beautiful flow and engaging dialogue. Interesting side-characters that contribute to the plot. 🩷

And then of course, my bratty boy Vincent! Oh how I love him. His naughty mouth, his mask, his tattoos and piercings (👀👀). He’s just everything and even David has no defence against his vulnerable charm. Such a sweet soul underneath his faux coolness!

Sidenote: Men who aren’t afraid to cry, link pinkies and whisper Tesoro and mi maestro while delivering a thorough skull f#cking just never gets old!

I can’t wait to read more from this author, starting with the two previous books in the series. Here’s a gal to look out for, you guys. 🩷

FYI, I want a goddamn collaring ceremony 😭😭😭🩷🩷🩷 and maybe some foot action? And definetely a play room and someone whispering Spanish endearments in my ear (oh wait, I have that 🤭🤭)

Love, love, loved this book! Thank you for trusting me with an ARC, Rebecca 🩷💋

*I rcvd an ARC from the author and this is my honest review 🩷💋

Let me start by saying I was super nervous going into this book - I had not read book 1 or 2 so I wasn’t sure what I was getting into and a handful of the listed tropes/trigger warnings were not in my normal “wheelhouse”. BUT let me tell you I’m so glad I took the chance! This was such a great book and perhaps just slightly educational.

I was worried the Sadism/Masochism element would be too much for me but it was not taken too far in any of the scenes and as the author described in her list was truly on the soft side (at least in my never been down that rabbit hole mind).

Because Vincent was new to the lifestyle but very much wanted a master and knew he was a sub the communication between the 2 MCs prior to the scenes was VERY OPEN and everything was explained and talked about which I think helped ease my worried mind.

And OMG the collaring ceremony - that may have been the sweetest thing ever. There was more love and respect and all the feels than some weddings I’ve seen!! I could reread that scene a million times and never get tired of it!

I’m so glad I took a chance and read this book. I loved the story and watching Vincent and David find their HEA. It was sweet, obviously spicy, very educational LOL and I fully intend on going back and reading Book 1 and Book 2.

BDSM heavy, Master X slave, Mask hidden identity, instant attraction, snarky enemies to lovers, same friend group, etc

David and Vincent really have a lot against them. While they start out with casual playtime together, they both realize they feel something deeper. And do they communicate that.... no lol. you go through the growing pains with these two babies and they really have a wonderful friend and resource group behind them.
I LOVED this book. I loved their dynamic and growing relationship and feelings for each other. Which means I'll be going back to read the other books in the Voyeurism series.
I love interconnected series and this series seems to hit that spot.
If you are wanting some BDSM heavy, smexy times and polar opposites THIS book is totally worth the read.
Overall, storyline, characters and flow were great. I didn't have a single part I got bored at. It moves at a good pace.

ARC copy provided for a voluntary/honest review

The story is a typical MM Romance at its heart, enemies to lovers with a masked "superhero" kind of thing for the first half where Vincent debates revealing he is both tattoo/piercing-parlor Clark Kent AND the Brat. David is a pint-sized Latin Lover with Spanish roots who works at the local BDSM club.

Readers are given a fair warning with a list of what they will encounter before embarking. The first bit explaining the rest of the series lost me, but as others have stated, it reads fine as stand-alone book. (I haven't read any of the previous books in the series and never found myself lost).

There were mentions of a lot of BDSM games/play/etc., but it certainly was no more intense than the sorts of things you'd find in the Story of O, Taming of Sleeping Beauty, or Tiffany Reisz novels.

I enjoyed this but didn't love it.

I read as a standalone but that was fine, I understood who the other characters were.

I just felt like Vincent was a bit of a whiny brat and David didn't really be the master I expected him to be. The communication also between and Dom/sub was pretty poor in my opinion.

The kinks and found family I did enjoy and the overall story was there and maybe I missed something but for me there were a few unanswered questions and a few edits.

It was lovely to be back in the Voyeurism world, seeing the characters from the previous two books.
In Breaking Vincent we see the self proclaimed brat Vincent and Dom David. Things don't always go smoothly for them as they find their way towards their HEA.
