I loved this book, oh so much!

I really enjoyed the tension between these two, it was absolutely perfect. The meddling family aspect was so fun and I actually was shocked with how things happened in the end.

The character growth and development played out so well and I found myself rooting for the two main characters from the start until the finish.

Such a cute small town vibe with lots of great side characters!

You get:
• Sweet Romance
• Second Chance
• Small Town
• Things Aren't What They Seem
• Secrets & Lies
• Best Friend's Brother
• Forced Proximity

Such an amazing book by Evie! Available on KU, ebook, and paperback.

Another book by Evie Sterling and another review!!!

Gemma is a perfectionist through and through. She likes order and statistics in her life.

Parker is an ex tennis player and from the outside it appears like he doesn’t have an idea what he’s doing, but there are many layers to Parker.

This book is a second chance, opposites-attract, clean and sweet romance featuring a perfectionist heroine, her bad-boy ex, and all the heart-melting feels of falling in love with a perfect match.

Overall I can’t wait to see what you write next Evie Sterling!

another fabulous book by Evie Sterling! this was such a cute romcom book I enjoyed reading it. I felt for Gemma a lot throughout the book, and I just wanted the best for her and Parker was just so sweet and learning about him more and discovering all the things he does was and amazing. their love story was also just so cute to read about. They fit so well together and I’m so glad that they are at 94% match. if you were looking for a fast paste second chance, brothers, best friends, sports romance than this book is for you!!

A sweet, second-chance romance.

Gemma is a perfectionist through and through. She likes order, statistics, and proven results. And she’s been given an impossible task.

Parker is the exact opposite. He’s an ex-tennis pro who loves the ladies and doesn’t know what he’s doing with his life now. Or is that just how things appear from the outside?

This novel spoke to me as I see a lot of myself in Gemma. She has a Type A personality and doesn’t back down from a challenge. She sets big goals for herself and can have trouble seeing outside of what she knows.
I enjoyed the complex layers that are Parker. There are many sides of him that you wouldn’t expect from a pro athlete hiding out in a small town.

The main characters complimented each other well and helped draw out sides of one another that they wouldn’t have found
on their own.

While some parts were predictable, I think that’s part of the reason I enjoy reading romance, so no complaints here!

This book is fine, it’s all right, it’s like every other romance.

BUT the age gap doesn’t fit, I’m sorry like what was the author thinking?? FMC is 18 and the guy is 23 when they first get into a relationship, while this makes me slightly uncomfortable I can still excuse this.

Fast forward, and we see the guy‘s point of view where he talks about the fact that he fantasized about her for years before they got into a relationship for the first time

FOR YEARS HE FANTASIZED ABOUT HER like what do you mean? were you were fantasizing about her when she was 15 and you were 20 or when she was 13 and you were 18!?!!?!

All of this was like super uncomfortable!

I didn’t believe in their love at all, the guy wasn’t genuine enough for me.

Ok how cute was this book?! I loved the strong, independent workaholic who faces a challenge head on, both professionally and with her love life. This was such a quick, feel good read that had me smiling throughout the entire thing. I couldn't put it down! It had the best ending and was such a great way to spend a dreary afternoon. Evie Sterling really knows how to write a sweet romance!

This second chance romance was a great read! Thoroughly enjoyed Gemma and Parker’s story.
Gemma believes in the numbers, in the system she’s built and comes unstuck when the man she thinks is Mr right isn’t!
Parker, a retired tennis champion seems to be just meandering through life unable to settle down.
Their love wasn’t to be the first time around but what about the second?
Plenty of good plot twists and I have to say I adored Parker and was rooting for him all along. He definitely wasn’t what he seemed to be and when Gemma realises the same, her whole outlook on love and life changes.
Loved the happy ending!!
If you like your romance with no spice but plenty of feeling you’ll love this one ❤️

"I want us to have what your great-grandparents had, Gem. What we're doing now - it feels really, really good. I want to keep going. I love you, baby. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

A sweet and clean cut, second chance romance story. I was lucky enough to be a part of the arc team, receiving a copy of the book, and I absolutely adored it. Usually, I do like a little spice, but the romance between Parker and Gemma was sweet and hooked me in.

Gemma is a high strung, insanely smart business owner for a matchmaking service called Right Match, after finishing multiple degrees and becoming a therapist, she uses all of her a knowledge to create a system to allow people to find their perfect match.

Parker, an athlete turned business owner, turned absolute sweetheart. His dad thinks he is washed up after his tennis career was over due to an injury. Little did his father know, he had actually created a really nice life for himself.

Carly, Gemma's best friend and also Parker's sister, encourages Gem to reach out to her father to ask for funding towards her business to help it develop. He asks one thing of Gemma, find his son his perfect match, and help him settle.

My favourite character throughout the book, without a doubt, is Parker. I was routing for that guy straight away. I love how patient he is with Gemma. He knows her moods, when to back off, and when to push a little. They both had dated when they were younger, Parker had ended it, and that always sat with Gemma. I loved seeing him fight for her back. Gemma was on a break/had been broken up by her long-term boyfriend Mortimer. He was immediately seen with another girl who didn't sit right with me. To also find out at the end what he did! I am glad Gem kicked him to the kerb. Team Parker all the way.
When Parker finally took the Right Match questions seriously, just so he can prove to Gem that they were meant for each other, and if he had needed to do the test to prove that, he would do it in a heart beat, and it turns out, they are the perfect match.
One thing that irked me throughout the book was how badly Carly brought Parker down, I am glad they rekindled their relationship in the end, but she was definitely on the harsher side.

If you love second change romances, a guy who owns a bar, runs a shelter, buys affordable house and a girl who is highly motivated to achieve the greatest things in life, this is definitely the book for you.

Gemma is a very straight down the line person, she's always has a life plan. Knowing what she wanted and planned to make it happen, a straight A student and now a successful business woman. If only she can get her best friends dad to invest so she can grow the company even more. But he has a condition to investing and that is she has to find his son a wife, can this really be happening of all people him. He's her school girl crush, he's the only one who's broken her heart. Can she see him and help him find his hea. Or will she fail. Parker is a free spirit enjoying his life however it turns out. Once an Olympic medalist for tennis and then pursuing his tennis career until he retired due to injury. Now he lives in a small town making ends meet doing bar work, cleaning of even a bit of doorman duties, after being sacked from the local tennis club. That is until she turns up at his families holiday cabin. Why now he'd moved on from his attraction to his sisters best friend, she was to good for him. He put an end to their short lived relationship if you could even call it that. So why now. This is a brilliantly written book and really does the characters justice. You find it easy to be drawn in and find yourself saying "why don't you open your eyes", or even "are numbers really that important to find the one". Curl up and enjoy the toing and froing these two do, plus the added bonus of Queenie. I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC copy and this is my own personal and honest opinion and review of the book I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I did

Evie Sterling books are my new comfort reads! This was just so enjoyable. Think cozy Hallmark vibes but with better dialogue, more chemistry, more animals, and less Christmas - although there is a Christmas epilogue.

Gemma is the CEO of a matchmaking company facing her biggest challenge yet: to receive a significant investment, she must find a perfect match for Parker, retired tennis pro turned professional slacker - and the former love of her life. She hasn't seen him since he broke it off before she left for college. But when they reunite in Vermont, it doesn't take long for sparks to fly. Too bad falling for Parker is totally not part of her life plan.

Gemma is even more type A than me, which is saying something, but I get her need for lists and order. Maybe it's because I could relate, but even when she was being extra it was never too much for me. I loved seeing her start to mellow out and enjoy life. And Parker is a dream boat - a supposed slacker with a heart of gold and a live for the moment attitude. Real men are probably not like this, but I want to live in a world where they are.

Tropes include opposites attract and small town romance. Also that over-driven career woman who stars in every Hallmark movie and really needs to work less.

This gave me major Katherine Center vibes in the best way - a lovable heroine who needs to grow as well as find love, a swoony hero who's perhaps just a bit too good to be true, a fun setting, a wholesome clean romance, and a lovely happily ever after. If that sounds like your cup of tea, give it a try!

Ah! This book was so cute! It was such a sweet romance.

Gemma is the owner and founder of a matchmaker business- Right Match, who is easily a woman who can be labeled a workaholic. She is constantly go-go-go and has the next 17 steps planned. Parker is nearly the complete opposite. He is someone who is looking for the fun in life and is willing to take the path that life sets him on. These two have known each other almost their whole lives, as Parker is Gemma’s best friend’s brother, as well as they were childhood neighbors, and they had a few week-long relationship before life separated them. Now, ten years later, Gemma’s company presents her with an opportunity to reconnect with Parker, and we see where it goes from there!

There was so much to love about this book! Between the contrast of the characters(without there being a grumpy/sunshine effect, as well as the small-town vibes (as a New-Engalnd girlie, I loved), and not to mention THE ANIMALS! I loved Queenie, and the other animals mentioned. They are all so cute and I am always a sucker for a cute book animal.

Albeit, there were times when little things could be labeled a tad cliche, I really enjoyed this book. Game, Set, Matchmaker by Evie Sterling was exactly what I wanted right now, as it was a quick and wholesome romance. I would highly suggest to anyone who wants a small town, best friend’s sibling, sports vibe, and opposite attract romance!

ARC REVIEW

My Star Rating: 4/5 ⭐
My Spice Rating: 1/5 🌶️

What you’ll find:
- Second Chance Romance
- Best Friend's Brother
- Clean/Sweet Romance
- Opposites Attract
- Bad Boy/Good Heart

Game, Set, MatchMaker is a wonderful, sweet sports romance. This is the third book I've read by Evie Sterling, and I really enjoy her writing style. Gemma owns a matchmaking company. She is all about the numbers and will do anything to maintain her successful business. Parker is an ex-professional tennis player. He is carefree and follows the beat of his own drum. In exchange for funding for her company, Parker's father asks Gemma to find Parker the right match to settle down with. Playing matchmaker for the guy who broke her heart in the past poses a problem because old feelings resurface.

This was such a fun read. I love sports romance books and am a huge tennis fan, so I love that Parker is an ex-professional player. I also love second-chance romance stories and was rooting for Parker and Gemma to make things work. Game, Set, MatchMaker is a super cute, easy read with great characters, witty banter, humor, and feel-good moments. I highly recommend this book!

Thank you, Evie Sterling and Hayling Book Storm Master ARC Team, for the e-ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Yay! I finally dipped my toes into sports romance, and I am loving it. I played tennis throughout high school and for fun with friends and jumped at this book when it mentioned tennis.

Some of the tropes in this book included best friend’s older brother, opposites attract, bad boy/ good heart, matchmaker second chances, and small town romance. It’s an overall feel good story that is sweet and charming. We follow Gemma, who is a strong, independent FMC on the fast track to grow her matchmaking business. She’s logical, organized, goal oriented, and obsessed with statistics. While we have Parker, who is a former Olympic tennis player that is aloof and doesn’t take anything seriously. Their budding second chance romance reminded me of those sweet Hallmark movies. Gemma slowly learns to loosen up and have fun with Parker around and slowly they both grow and change together.

There were so many moments in the book that reminded me of when I first started dating my husband in the beginning. The angst, nervousness, and little interactions that I clearly overanalyzed at the time.

I recommend this book and am so excited to check out more books by Evie Sterling!

Thank you Evie and @haylingbookstorm for the eArc!

Game, Set, Match Maker By Evie Sterling @eviesterling.cleanromance

⭐️ 4/5

🐱 Sports Romance
🐱 Second Chance
🐱 Childhood Sweethearts
🐱 Opposites Attract

I am always skeptical about sweet romances but honestly i'm finding Evie Sterlings book to hit the right spot, the right amount of roamance, drama and character development.

Gemma is a workaholic who follows statistics and numbers more than she follows her heart and her gut, but that all changes when she is given a chance at even more success, the catch: Parker. She is to find him a life partner using her company Right Match... Little does she know his right match is closer than she thinks.

Parker is the carefree, life enthusiast, he follows his feelings and doesn't let logic or other peoples opinions stop him. He hides so many parts of himself but as Gemma slowly starts to unravel she finds that what she has been told about Parker is completely wrong... that his heart is so open and made of gold.

Being in close proximity for both of them proves more difficult than they may have originally anticipated especially when their hearts start to get involved, now Gemma has to decide.. will she follow her Right Match or her heart.

Gemma and Parker’s Story . . .

Gemma is the owner of a matchmaking company, Right Match, and is a bit uptight with her crazy scheduling and multiple master planners. But it’s plain to see that she takes her work seriously. When she has an opportunity to get Mitch Manning to invest in her company, which will let her expand her business, she jumps at the chance to find his son, Parker, a good match. Mr. Manning is hoping that finding a wife for former tennis pro Parker will settle him down so he can take over the family business. Women still go crazy for him, even after an injury forced an early retirement from tennis. So of course the handsome man won’t fully cooperate by answering Gemma’s questions.

With Parker living in a cabin in Pines Peak, Gemma tracks him down to relentlessly get those answers she needs for his profile. Being alone with him, she remembers the kiss they shared many years ago. She is determined to find him the perfect match… or is she ready to become what he needs? Will the matchmaker be outmaneuvered at her own game?

Okay this book was so cute! My second clean romance in a row but I loved it either way!

💄Gemma is the owner of a successful matchmaking company and she is someone who likes to have the next 10 years of her life planned out. After asking her best friend’s dad to help fund her growing business he’s agrees on one condition, finding his son Mrs. Right.

🎾Parker, the tennis Olympic, who also happens to be Gemma’s first love is your happy go lucky golden retriever who takes things as they come. Parker comes off as your heartbreaking wild child but really he is a huge softie who would do anything for one.

To read about them getting a second chance at love while also seeing Gemma let loose and have some well needed fun was adorable!

Gemma is all about the statics, the numbers, so the ending was perfect (gotta read it to see what I mean!) I had the biggest smile on my face!

If you’re looking for a feel good, second chance romance I definitely recommend this one!!

✨Book 2 of the series will be re released April 2024✨

What if I still have the hots for my bff’s brother?

Gemma and Carly have been bff’s since they were in diapers, so why is Gemma so nervous to make a sales pitch to Carly’s dad to invest in her matchmaking business. It’s already a success, and she knows it will continue to be. When she’s done and he starts talking about his son Parker, Gemma is confused, and also trying to put the thoughts of them kissing 10 years ago downstairs in this very house out of her head. But Carly’s dad tells her that if she can find a match for Patrick then he’ll invest $500,000 in her company. Ugh. Not the straightforward help she was hoping for, but how hard can it be? But, when she sees Patrick and all her memories come flooding back of how much they used to mean to each other she realizes that it might be harder, on her, than she first thought. Will she be able to find a match for Patrick and get that investment for her company? You’ll have to read to find out! I read this in one sitting, I couldn’t stop turning the pages.

Thank you @haylingbookstorm and @eviesterling.cleanromance for my free e-copy of this book in exchange for my review!

This book is alllll sunshine and kitties and happiness! I will admit, it was refreshing having a romance book that was clean and just sweet all the way through 😍

If you liked The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren, this one has the matchmaking app vibe down without the spice! I also personally am extremely fond of best friend’s brother and second chance romance tropes, so those were super appealing selling points for me.

Gemma is very much Type A in this book, and her dependency on numbers to dictate her life did drive me a bit crazy at times. But I liked that Parker balanced her out and helped her lighten up. I always appreciate good character growth throughout a story.

This book is predictable, and nothing about it blew me away. But it’s a light, fun romance book that I can recommend to others—like my mom (haha) without stressing about any of the content. So nice! If you enjoy cheesy Hallmark movies (I mean this in the absolute best way), this will be riiiight up your alley 🥰

Chissà, forse quella app è davvero precisa come sembra.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Gemma Lafferty needs money to take her business to the next level. Only one person stands in her way. Parker Manning is concentrating on living life which is a far cry from what his family wants him to do. They want him to settle down and take over the family business. As far as the family is concerned, Parker is on a one way track to nothing.

Gemma is a go-getter and is not going to let the first boy to break her heart get in her way. Things are not ever what they seem. Can these two spend time together given their history? Gemma is determined to get his profile in the system and find Parker’s right match. She also ready to get her relationship back on track. They have been on a break but numbers don’t lie. They are perfect for each other.

The longer Gemma is in Pines Peak, the more past feelings start surfacing. Both Gemma and Parker are feeling things that neither should be feeling for each other. How will Gemma feel when she finds out that Parker is more involved with the community than the family thought? Parker might not be doing what his family wants him to do but he is living the life that he wants. Unfortunately, Parker is not a match for Gemma. Gemma has a boyfriend, sort of. Nothing is as it seems. When the truth comes out, readers mouth’s will be open wide.

Gemma is out to make her matchmaking company, Right Match, the best she can. When she approaches her best friend’s dad to invest in her business, he agrees with one condition. Gemma must try her matchmaking skills out on Parker, her best friend’s brother and Gemma’s past, and maybe current, crush. Will Gemma be able to talk Parker into being matched or will he be able to resist?

I am a big fan of best friends brother romances so I was really excited to start this one. I found this to be a good, entertaining best friends brother romance and I really liked the two main characters. Gemma is the motivated and determined go getter and Parker is the misunderstood guy who is so much more than he seems. I thought this pairing was perfect and enjoyed seeing the chemistry between Parker and Gemma. I’m always up for a good, low spice romance and this one definitely fit the bill. If you are a romance fan who isn’t into too much spice and are just looking for a good romance, give this one a try!

Cute read

I really enjoyed this book. I have read several of Evie Sterling's books now and they are such sweet rimance books. There isn't spice in this book but it didn't need it.

You have Gemma who is a workaholic and Parker who is laid back and an ex tennis player. Parker is Gemma's best friend's brother and she's had a crush on him since she was young. They got together when she was 18 and he was 23 for a few weeks but he broke it off.

Ten years later and Gemma has a business that helps people find matches and her friend's dad tasks her with finding someone for Parker so he'll get his life together. Gemma ends up staying where he is pretty much hiding and there is definite chemistry between them.

I think they each need a little of what the other had. Perfect ending. This story is such a perfect romance. Read this so you can see what happens between Gemma and Parker. Loved this.

A wonderful sweet romance story from Evie Sterling!

The book follows Gemma (FMC), owner of a matchmaking business (Right Match), and ex-pro tennis player Parker (MMC) as they reconnect after Parker’s dad offers Gemma funding money for her company in exchange for helping Parker find a wife to settle down with. Except Parker isn’t interested in following his father’s plans for him -he would rather do his own thing and see what comes along. When Gemma appears, old feelings resurface for them both -can they find their perfect match in each other?

I loved this dual POV story -clean, sweet, and fun. Evie Sterling is a great indie author and her writing style is clear and engaging. My favourite character was Parker and his easy going, loyal, generous, and caring personality. There are some really funny moments in the story too -particularly with Annie in the tavern and karaoke night. I would highly recommend this book!

Gemma is a professional matchmaker. She has your typical no nonsense, everything organized, Type A personality with a perfectionist work and life ethic. Parker...does not! He's a gorgeous, tattooed ex tennis pro turned bartender who doesn't even know how to mix a cocktail. The tabloids love to write about him and his playboy lifestyle. It doesn't necessarily have to be true to be in print, does it? He just wants to relax and lay low for a while but Gemma has a job to do in order to get funding for her matchmaking business and the quicker she can get to it, the quicker she can get her business online. How hard could it be to find a wife for her best friend's brother that she's always had a crush on?? Will she find him his perfect match?

I really enjoyed this sweet and clean, second chance romance. It's an opposites attract, forced proximity story with a happily ever after. It has a little mystery, quite a few funny moments, some plot twists & animals! Add several quirky side characters and you've got a really cute story. This is the second book from Evie Sterling that I have read and I really like her sweet romance writing style. I look forward to reading more.

Gemma and Parker were the cutest!! Where Gemma is a perfectionist that relies on facts and data, Parker is the exact opposite. He is so laid back and nonchalant about everything. Though they have history, Gemma is tasked with finding Parker his Right Match through her company in order to get funding from his dad. Old feelings are brought to the surface as she tries her best to complete the impossible task, while Parker has only one goal in mind, make Gemma his again. It was such a beautiful story seeing the man Parker is compared to how his family portrays him, and the love they so obviously never let go of. Gemma and Parker are the true definition of opposites attract but they compliment each other so well. I honestly couldn't put this book down and stayed up WAY to late last night to finish it.

What's a girl to do, when she's looking to secure an investment for her matchmaking business, and is asked to play matchmaker for her best friend's brother aka the guy who broke her heart years ago?

That's exactly what we can expect to find out in Evie Sterling's latest second chance romance, Game, Set, Matchmaker.

Gemma, our ambitious, perfectionist FMC, faces the unexpected challenge of finding the "Right Match" for the tattooed, retired tennis pro MMC, who hides a secret soft heart behind his bad boy reputation. Feelings that didn't quite remain in the past, will force these two totally opposite characters to decide whether second chances are the sweetest beginnings.

This was a quick, enjoyable, clean romance with laugh out loud banter between the main characters. Perfect for readers looking for their next sweet, contemporary romance.

Gemma has a matchmaking business and she would like her bestie’s dad to invest into it.
He will invest in one condition… Gemma has to find a match for his son Parker (her ex), to see if it actually works - Try it before you buy it kinda thing!

Gemma goes to Vermont to be closer to Parker, so she can help him with his matchmaking profile. What she doesn’t know is, that he is closer than she thinks and this matchmaking situation is getting a bit more complicated!

The romance in this book is very sweet and there is no spice, which is really refreshing to read.
I really enjoyed the character development and the bad guy to sweet, caring guy progress. ❤️

The ending especially was a shocker 😉

This book is so stinking cute, it physically hurt. Gemma + Parker + dual POVs made my soul happy.

Without getting too into spoilers, I absolutely love the balance of these two and the honesty that comes to the forefront when they are together. One of my biggest pet peeves is when something could just be solved with communication and the main characters just won't do that....this book gives both characters the maturity to be honest with each other up front AND it was a natural progression of what they shared with each other...nothing felt too fast.

I loved that there was a little twist in the 3rd act. I figured something was coming, but it wasn't what I thought it was and that's always fun!

Once again, these characters are adorable (especially Parker), and I loved reading this book! Also, Mortimer is the worst 😉

Overall: Recommend!
